CHAPTER 6 ADAPT and SURVIVE

Every second Ray was spending in this new Universe, he was learning and adapting new things.

While in the current situation Ray had only two choices either run and hide or fight the Mikaelsons because convincing Klaus is something which will never work but then he remembers that Elijah had helped built a Jazz Club across the river which could help him from getting found by the locator spell.

Even though he knew the solution from getting located, he was still lacking in the specifics like where exactly that place was but being a vampire helped him reach every bit of memory he ever had and he remembers that the jazz club was in some cemetery in Algiers and after asking few people about it, he finally finds that place.

The club was closed because it was already midnight but it doesn't stop him from getting in and when he enters he sees Davina walking back and forth while waiting for someone which Ray guess was Vincent.

"Dav-" He stops realising that they haven't met yet so he shouldn't know her name but he already had Davina's attention.

"The place is closed" Davina says monotonously not interested in any kind of talk but Ray wanted to talk to her and she was the only person there he can pass his time with so he tries to have a conversation.

"Yeah, I know... I was just hoping this place can resist a locator spell" Ray says and takes two glasses and pours bourbon in them and slides the glass towards Davina at which Davina eyes confusingly.

"What are you doing here?" Ray asks taking a sip from the glass.

"Meeting a friend" She says keeping her guard up. "Where is your friend?" Ray asks but the next moment he hears someone's heartbeat coming towards the club. He turns towards the front door and waits for the person to enter "Looks like your friend is here" Ray says.

"You can hear his heartbeat?" Davina asks.

Ray nods his head but then focuses again on the heartbeat but this time it was one more.

"Their actually... I can hear two heartbeats" Ray says causing Davina to raise her eyebrow in suspicion.

"Hey, Shunt witch" a feminine voice comes from Ray's behind and he turns to see a young woman with chocolate brown hair and olive skin accompanied by a guy of the same age with raven hair and fair skin.

"Ellie" there was a hint of bitterness in Davina's voice.

Ellie walks in and her eyes landed on Ray and she stares at him for a few seconds before getting to Davina.

"Who are you?" She asks.

"Ray Wilson" Ray introduces himself and offers his hand to Ellie who takes it and shakes his hand lightly without any change in expressions "You are beautiful" Ray says being a totally blown by her elegance.

"Andrew Moulin, her boyfriend" the guy says monotonously, putting his hand on Ray's shoulder.

Ray literally heard his heart skipping a beat when he hears Andrew saying that.

Ray was so intrigued by Ellie that he almost forgets that she wasn't in the original plot because as he remembers, it was Vincent who came to meet Davina and not Ellie and whoever that guy Andrew is so he asks Davina.

"So they are your friends?" Ray asks Davina and gets a look from both Davina and Ellie.

Andrew chuckles seeing both of them giving each other glares "It's umm... love and hate relationship between this two"

"Did Vincent called you too?" Andrew asks.

"No, I'm just here for time pass" Ray says casually.

"So you are a werewolf or a vampire?" Ellie asks.

"I'm actually--" Ray hesitates thinking how will they react if they found out that there is a hybrid in between of them but he knew that it won't matter because they'll find out anyway sooner rather than later " I'm both... half-vampire and half-werewolf"

Ellie and Andrew look at each other surprised by Ray's answer "You're a hybrid?"

"Yeah" Ray says keeping his tone low.

"What are you doing across the river then?" Andrew asks."Shouldn't you be in the quarter with your other buddies?"

Ray takes a deep breath keeping his heartbeat in control which was pacing every second.

"and Vampires don't actually mix well with Tremé witches" Ellie adds.

"It's complicated," Ray says.

"How can a creature like you be in a complicated situation?" Ellie asks and then notices Davina texting someone, at first she thinks it's Vincent but then she looks at her cell phone screen and sees Kol's number.

"Seriously? Can't you stop texting your boyfriend for a minute?" Ellie asks making Ray jump on his seat and he quickly snatches her phone and laughs a bit reading her texts.

"You told him I'm here" Ray says in disbelief.

Davina says nothing and looks down at the ground.

"I gotta go" Ray says and starts walking out of the club but then a thought comes in his mind that it's the best chance of impressing Ellie by showing her how strong he is and prove everyone that he is a threat and they should be scared.

You know what, Scratch that... I'm not leaving, let that come" Ray says smiling with confidence dripping off his body.

"I'm not a fan of violence but you people are a pain in the ass so let them come" Ray says and sits back on his chair.

"Big words" Ellie says swallowing greedily her drink.

Andrew laughs listening to Ray "They are original vampires, thousand years old and you look like a baby wolf... I can bet you won't last a minute"

Ray scoffs at Andrew's comment and takes out two hundred dollars and puts them on the table "Bet"

Next moment Ray hears some footsteps coming towards the Club so he prepares himself for the fight.

He was nervous but it was just about killing only one of them then it won't be hard killing the others.

"Davina!" Ray hears Marcel entering the club with four Strix vampires.

"Where is he?" Marcel asks looking around for an unknown face.

"Here" Marcel turns back to see Ray standing at the door blocking the entrance.

"Elijah asked me to bring you back without any harm and he asked me to tell you that he feels bad for how they treated you so don't make it hard than it needs to be and come with us without any trouble" Marcel requested but Ray was in the mood for a fight.

"I don't care how he feels, I trusted him once and I'm not making the same mistake again" Ray says and picks up a wooden chair and uses his super-speed and hits one of the Strix.

"Well then" Marcel super-speeds to Ray and tries to punch him but Ray dodged it and picks up another chair and smashes it on Marcel's back and breaks the chair in pieces.

Ray then picks up one of the wooden pieces and shoves it in Marcel's back.

Ellie, Davina and Andrew were surprised to see Ray taking on the Strix so easily.

Two vampires saw a chance and grabbed both his hand and pushed him to the wall and the third one tries to stake him but Ray quickly frees himself from their grip and tosses them before the third vampire can stake him.

He grabs the third vampire's hand and twists it towards his own chest and pushed the stake in his chest but misses the heart.

The vampire who Ray hit the first comes to attack but Ray grabs his neck and tackles him to the wall and squeezes his neck.

"Ray" Ellie says.

"What?" Ray turns to her while still choking the vampire.

"He's a vampire"

"So?"

"You are choking a dead person," Ellie says and Ray realizes his mistake and punches the vampire to knock him out.

"Thanks" Ray says and Ellie gives him a thumbs up.

Ray turns and sees Marcel getting on his feet so he walks to him and plunges his fist into Marcel's chest and grabs onto his heart, causing Marcel to gasp in pain.

Everyone's eyes widened and Davina screams "MARCEL NO!!"

"Ray don't do it, please I'm begging you" Davina begs him, Ray scoffed seeing Davina like that.

"You called them, not me... I was just hiding till I can make an attempt to flee" Ray says in anger.

"I'm sorry... please" Ray pulls his hand out of his chest and takes few deep breaths to slow down his heartbeat.

Davina runs towards Marcel and wraps her hands around him.

At the moment Kol enters and sees Davina crying, he looks at Ray and takes out the Tunde's blade but before he can jump on him Davina stops him "Kol, please don't"

Kol reaches to Davina but still keeps his eyes on Ray, he picks Marcel up and takes both Marcel and Davina with him.
