CHAPTER TWELVE

"She's engaged to him huh?" Jason commented with a snort, even though this might make it a bit difficult he had to deal with the lady through and through so she never messes with his dear mother again.

Jason closed up the search engine and went back to the chat app not clicking on the unread message but instead scrolled down to another chat and clicked on it, 'Master, I need your advice.' the little boy typed waiting for a reply.

ARIEL'S POV

I finally got up stretching feeling pains all over my body, probably due to the fact I slept on the couch, so it's pretty much not surprising.

My gaze landed on the clock and I immediately went into panic mode, "what the hell?!! Fuck!" I yelled out not caring if Jason heard me, which he did because soon after the door opened and Jason's tiny body in pajamas popped out looking cute with his bed hair.

"Mom, what's wrong?" He asked with a drowsy voice, but I was busy scrambling around to answer him, I flung the blanket used to cover me away and hurriedly stood up.

The director is going to kill me?! I can't believe I'm going to be late for the audition, not even giving Jason his normal good morning peck on the forehead, I dashed into the bathroom taking a quick shower before coming out, dashing into the room again wearing the first thing I laid my eyes on, not even taking a good look at it.

I immediately sat down in front of the mirror and placed my mask on my face gently, I had already applied a skin friendly glue on my face so the mask won't fall off.

When that was done, I picked up my bag and went for the door while Jason just stood in the middle of the living area wondering what is going on with me, "Be good baby, there are some cereals I stocked in the fridge last night with some milk, and don't even try anything funny like last night if you get tired of the cereals, order room service, and if you have any emergency call me immediately and I'll come home as quick as possible, good bye love." I said in one breath before heading out and shutting the door.

I didn't go far away from the door when I hurried back to see Jason still standing there with question marks all over his head and a pouty lips, "Mommy forgot, good morning love." I hurriedly bent down giving him a kiss on the forehead, "Bye mommy." He finally responded waving his hands and pushing me outside and shutting the door, I felt relieved and immediately flew down the stairs, and by flew down I meant jumped down, since the elevators were currently not on that floor and I am in a hurry.

Before I knew it, I was in the hotel's lobby, and soon the door, I flagged down a taxi immediately I got out, I didn't feel out of breath from the jumping exercise since it is a normal experience for me, as I said before, I have been through hellish training in the hands of the director, that this is just a piece of cake compared to it.

"Please take me to Tayson street, building number 44." I told him the address where the audition is being held praying I get there on time.

To be honest it was surprising, the fact I woke up this late, it is almost noon, on a normal day I'm usually up by 5am to do my daily training/exercise routine, maybe it is because of the jet lag.

"We are here!" The taxi driver announced and I pulled out a pocket mirror checking my face mask one last time before giving him the money and alighting from the car.

When I got down, a thought flashed my head and I hurriedly looked through my bag, I forgot the fucking script, "Fuck fuck fuck." I cursed beneath my breath, I just have to bite the bullet and go in like that, 'Director, I'm really sorry for wasting your efforts.' I apologised in my heart knowing he will be pissed if I lose the audition, it is a perfect opportunity to get closer to Vincent, he told me before we left, but it is also kind of his fault for not letting me recover from the jet lag first before assigning me for an audition.

"Hey, I'm looking to audition for the second female lead." I approached someone who looked like an assistant, she gave me a strange look before responding.

"Are you number 23?! We've been looking all over for you, you are next." The woman scolded in a rude tone, dragging me into the waiting room where a lot of actresses were waiting, I felt inferior seeing their beauty and I really sure I can stand up against these women, there were some veterans here and it's been so long since I've acted, the director did place a lot of trust on me here.

"Number 23!!" A voice yelled out making me thank my God, because I was starting to feel uncomfortable with all the stares I was getting, I immediately stood up and followed the assistant who yelled out my number.

I stepped unto the stage seeing familiar faces seating in the judges seat, I now understood why their were lots of popular actresses outside, this is going to be an invested film, I'm seeing the faces of the country's biggest director, the author of the book, 'Revenge of the betrayed maiden.' it is a female lead book that did well on the net and everyone loved it so naturally the author became popular and loved, did I also mention that it is the book that is being adapted into a movie? If I didn't then well I've said it now, it is the book.

I gulped nervously seeing the big shots seated before me, "Start." The director ordered, and I took in a deep breath, assassins should never be intimidated, with that in mind I proceeded to start.

"Stop!" A cold voice suddenly ordered resounding round the theatre room.
