Chapter 34: The Missing Rib

King Cyrus surrendered the wombs toward his trusted healers. He conducted a meeting with the tale beares, Prince Yael and Cresent with the guidance of the elders. It's catastrophic, all the cow wombs contained children that are female under age of 3.

"Here a reward. " Asno said as she handed a letter sealed with Lehi's perfume. Ophir excitedly opened the letter and got irked. The letter was sent a week ago.

"Hey, You could have given this to me at the exact date. "Ophir whinned he paced away from Asno and leaned on one peony.

"Dearest Ophir,

I wrote this letter to asked for advise about our previous mission. Being a team leader is quite challenging. I really salute your servant leadership.

From our previous mission we encountered a invisible being that's been collecting toddlers, a woman's hair for sewing the cow's womb. He is using the process for incubation. He also mentioned a word grandiose.

Ophir grunted for only receiving a letter of inquiry. He expected a love letter but that is Lehi for you. The word grandiose means massive. And incubator is in preparations to hatch, could it be that the one behind this is raising an army? Wait! human's are originally from women's egg cell and sperm cell. Did the culprit inject something? After pondering for hours Ophir needed another information to confirm his suspensions.

"How was it? " Asno uttered as she gear up herself to travel.

"It's critical, I am sorry Asno but I can't accompany you here onwards. " Ophir explained.

"Oh, I see then you'll remain here, I am about to pay a visit on Cyrus. Okay I understand. if you came to love this place. " Asno implied comically.

Ophir grunted at Asno's naughtiness.

Lila suddenly appear behind Asno and hugged Ophir.

"I am glad to see you doing well Ophir. I am here because of Asno's direct request from the King. " Lila stated

" You read my letter without my permission. Aren't you that sneaky?" Ophir screamed at his trainer.

Asno just shrug at him and beamed.

" Well, I have done my job. Your Equipping is done. Cyrus and I agreed to observe you for a month. That's all. "

Ophir can feel his face steamed up in annoyance.

"Then all the things you asked me to do are part of your experiment? "

Asno just hummed at him and directed Lila to open a portal. In an instance they are in front of Cyrus with the tale bearers.

Ophir stated his answer about Lehi's question. He stayed late to wait for the result and was right the toddlers are injected with sporophyte. It is a diploid zygote that produced meiotic division from genration of plants. Ophir suggested caging each children for security. After his problem solving Ophir leaned in to Kiel and asked where is Urchin and Lehi.

Cyrus heared Ophir's question and dismissed the others involved in the meeting and asked the Tale bearers to remain. Ophir immediately sense the sudden drop of atmosphere. Lehi not being around means bad omen.

Cyrus lead them to a room that is purely made of soft feathers floored in diamond. There Ophir saw Lehi being chained with silver on a pillar. Her eyes are lifeless. Her wavy locks are tangled and her face are in puple shade.

Kiel cleared his throat and explained what happened.

"It was after after we fought the invisible being. The invisible being grab her hair from the back and ripped her garment exposing her back. Lehi mentioned that he is a male from his touch and voice. She also stated that he roamed his hands on her back particularly to her spine. Urchin tried to oversee but he said that someone is blocking his vision. "

Ophir can't hide his anger as he gritted his teeth. He eyed Asno and asked as calmly as possible.

"Why did you delay the letter? "

Cyrus step forward and answered Ophir.

"Because Lehi asked for it, the night she sent the letter. She knocked on my door and asked for that favour. She said she does not want to bother you. "
