CHAPTER 1

"The King requests your presence" Seth informed the Prince as they took a stroll

"Why?" The Prince asked as he viewed the city from the peak of the highest tower

"I don't know. He sent his messengers this afternoon but I stopped them from entering since you were inside the room" He replied and Jared just nodded his head as he continued viewing the city.

"Where are others?"

"They should be resting now in their room" Seth asked and Jared nodded his head again

"I am coming" He said and leaped away before Seth could say anything

Jared leaped at the front of the Palace guard. He was stopped and disappeared before they could say anything and appeared at the throne hall where the King was sitting.

"You summoned me, your Majesty" He bowed as he said and the King stood up furiously

"How many times will I tell you to enter like every other normal Vampire?"

"Forgive me, your Majesty" He was still bowing and the King looked at him with contempt and hissed

"Get ready for your marriage to a human Princess tomorrow" The King said and Jared froze. He knew the King was definitely going to marry him off one day but he never imagined it will be so soon or to a HUMAN. Either way, he didn't show his surprise and bowed again "We will be taking off tomorrow morning. Go"

Then, he materialized from the King sight to annoy him and he appeared in front of his men. They were where he left them

"You scared us" Xavier, the youngest among them said and the Prince laughed

"Why did he call you?" Zolan asked. They were so curious that he decided to play around before answering them

"To have a combat with Radley tomorrow" He lied

"Is he trying to test you? To have a combat with Rad? Sorry, I mean the Crown Prince?" Greg said sounding like he was suspicious of the King and his Prince

"He knows you will surely beat him, yet, I think you should not-" Seth was saying and caught the playful glint in Jared's eyes "Ah, don't play with something as crucial as that. We believed you"

"It was fun seeing your expressions" He said laughing and they hissed "he said I will be getting married tomorrow"

"What?"They chorused

"You are not joking right?" Zolan asked then they saw the sincerity in his eyes

"Oh no"

"To a human" He completed his statement and their eyes went as wide as saucers

"What the heck"

"Is he trying to test your patience?"

"Are you still going to agree with this one" Seth asked and when he said 'yes' they all groaned in frustration

"I am waiting for the when you will say 'it is time'" Xavier said

"When?" Jared said "Anyway, we will be leaving 12. You are all coming with me so you should get ready" He told them added "And tell the maids to prepare the room at the front of mine for the princess" He said and they stared at him like he said as something strange. He intentionally took their stare as tiredness "You will all need good sleep, so sleep well guys" and he was gone

"TOMORROW" Silver thought "Tomorrow she will be married to a BEAST, no, a MONSTER, a VAMPIRE" she wondered why her parents agreed with such a thing. Though they apologized but she couldn't bring herself to forgive them and feel angry cos the y sold her for more power. She stared at the mirror and wondered what she would look like in the next one year. One year? She laughed. That was too long, one week

SHE WAS LEAVING

Her room, house, home, city, her everything to a new world entirely where they don't treat humans as creatures. That's what she heard. She laughed at herself and her fantasies when she was young that she would marry a god, one that loved her and she loved too and … Tears began to roll and drop from her eyes. Since she heard the news, she tried to cry but her face was so dry. When she didn't want it to, it was flowing on its own. She had to rest; she knew she had to for tomorrow was going to be a long and bitter day.

"You will soon be called in my Princess" Flynn, Silver's maid about the same age with Silver informed her after getting her ready for the wedding

"You are so beautiful and adorable, my Princess" Kay, her second maid commented

"Thank you" She whispered lightly and faced the mirror and different thoughts crossed her mind. She knew her maids were afraid for her and wished they could follow her. In fact, they were praying because once the Queen comes in, their fate will be determined. The maids had been what she had her whole life and now… NO

As soon as the door opened, they all turned and bowed for the Queen

"You are permitted to go with her" The Queen and the maids almost screamed with joy but they only smiled because of the Queen presence

"Thank you your Majesty" They bowed again

"Bring her to the hall now" She said and gave a glance at Silver that did not bother to turn to her before leaving

"OMG, don't cry or you will ruin your face" Flynn said and she smiled

"Who said I was about to cry? I was thinking and happy for us" Silver said and took in a deep breath "Let's go"

Since she was not important to her parents, she decided to make herself important to herself. She didn't care about anything anymore, she would be brave.

Seeing their Princess determined face, the maids summed up courage and led her to the wedding hall.

As she was entering the hall, her presence was announced and everyone stood. She went and bowed to her parents before she was led to sit beside her soon-to-be husband. She tried to focus on the proceedings and forget about the man by her side that she hasn't even seen how he looked like.

When they were called out, she came forward and turned to him. She saw her soon-to-be husband for the first time she froze. He was elegant with his black hair and slender body. It was his facial qualities that knocked the final breath off her

She recovered quickly and took her eyes off him. The proceedings soon ended and she said goodbyes to everybody, intentionally ignoring the sorry look in their face. She didn't bother to turn to her parents she was annoyed with them.

"Goodbye Silver" Her Mum said and she nodded her head gravely

"Are you ready to go now Princess?" A deep voice that sent sensations everywhere around her body, made her whirl and almost bump into her husband.

HER HUSBAND

Jared and his men had gotten set and went to meet the King who mocked Jared for thinking he was going to accompany them

'Who thought he was?'

He released a few royal carriages for them, Jared was shocked but he knew how to hide his expression well. They arrived at the venue early and the whole proceedings went like flash, the only time that time went slow was when he saw her for the first time and was spell bounded by her beauty. He had seen her walk in with Grace, Elegance and Pride and he liked her for it.

After the ceremony, he waited for her to was the goodbyes before trying to talk to her. She was beautiful, he admitted when she almost bumped on him. Once they were inside the carriage, he felt her stiffen and then relax as she watched was going on outside through the window. He knew she was sad leaving her home bt they both had no choice.

He could sense his men discomfort as they journeyed slowly because of the three humans following them.

'Your complaints and disturbing my ears' He spoke to them through his mind though they were not in the same place

'The journey is too slow. The worst journey I have ever embarked on' Xavier complained

'You are absolutely right' Greg agreed with him and Jared laughed loud though inside of him that it affected their ears

'That was too loud' Seth complained lazily and they continued to chat like that until they got to the dark forest. The forest that separates the Vampires from the Humans.

They journeyed deeper and suddenly he felt the Princess stiffen. He wondered why and focused his hearing to everything around. He got to know the beasts were already approaching. How on earth did she hear that? He wondered.

"Princess?" He talked to her for the first time since they embarked on the journey. She answered though she was still facing the window "The beasts are approaching now. I will send you maids here while I and my men will go and hunt them down" He rattled off and she only nodded her head. He got down and found his men already waiting for him. Xavier was with the maids so he told him to stay with the maids and the Princess. The Prince and others separated themselves to attack and beast at sight.

When they left, Xavier rested his head with his eyes closed though he was ready and alert for any sound

"What is your name?" The Princess asked and his eyes flew open shocked. The Princess had only said one syllable word since they met her.

"Xavier, my Princess? He answered

"Xavier" She smiled "You are pretty" She commented and he froze but not completely to miss the sound of an approaching beast

"Thank You my Princess" He said and stood up "One sec please" like a flash, he was gone and was back again. No sign that he went kill

"Are vampires that fast?" she asked and he nodded his head

"Yes, my Princess"

"Does that mean we are the one slowing you down?" She asked and he quickly tried to stop that thought in her while she marvelled at their patience and surprised they were not complaining

"No!" He shouted "We are okay like this, sometimes we don't feel like running too fast" He lied and she knew but just smiled "Others are back already" He announced and she out of curiosity got down from the carriage. She saw her husband and his men still as they left them. Not even a hair was ruffled

"Did you encounter any beast on your way?" She couldn't do but ask

"Yes, My Princess. Beasts actually but we killed those we saw and sensed" Seth answered and she marvelled more. The Prince was talking to Xavier when she turned to the men

"What are your names?" She asked and they showed that startled expression Xavier showed her when she asked the same question.

"Seth, my Princess" Seth answered and others did too

"I am Princess Silver" She said too and they bowed. It was then that her maids opened their mouths and introduced themselves

"Um, we are going to materialize to the Palace" The Prince announced. She was shocked cos she never heard that vampires materialize. Before she could talk or act, the Prince already grabbed her hand. His men linked their hands together too and the last linked his hand with the Prince other hand while her maids linked theirs with hers and-

They appeared at the front of the Royal Palace

"That was-"Flynn was saying

"Shocking" Kay completed

"Why did you stop here?" Silver asked Jared

"Because we need to meet the King first" He replied

"We'll wait here" Seth said. They obviously did not like the King

"You are all coming with us" The Prince said and they grumbled as her gave the soldiers at the gate orders and the gate was opened. As they walked in, Silver could not do but admire the beauty and luxury of the palace. Even the maids' uniform was beautiful and unique.

Soon they were at the throne hall. Silver saw the King and the Queen beside him then there were three men she assumed to be the Princes.
