Premise: Blood Sisters

Flicker technology is a new thing in the battlefield. It doesn't really bend the laws of physics but it gives you the idea of it being done. Pretty neat but that is something I was not able to figure out for sooner. If I were able to do so, more lives could have been saved.

I am about to proceed to the mess hall when my attention was called. Someone was looking for me in the briefing room. I haven't took lunch yet but I am not feeling hungry so I decided to head there instead. I saw Tatiana once again giving me that teasing look. I think she has a thing for me or something. Or maybe she just want to piss me off.

The second most high ranking officer in the room sighs when he sees her teasing me. It seems like he pities on me for being bullied by her. I do not know what that slight shake of his head means but I think it is something he wish he didn't see.

"I believe you two are acquainted there's no need to introduce you both further. Let us skip the formalities and talk about the anomalies of the recent missions. I believe that the enemy is using their trick on their sleeves against us." The Captain said to everyone in the room.

Chatter filled the room after the footage they saw. They talk about the emergence of a new weapon or probably technology that would cause us pain in the neck. It is something dangerous if we let these people be.

"I demand silence in the room." The lieutenant said.

"Let us continue..." The Captain continued his discussion, "As we all know these pose a threat to us. If we let them be, many of our comrades may die. We decided to declassify this information because incidents regarding the usage of such technology against us became common."

"To continue with our Captain's discussion. I believe that these weapons are very pesky to handle. Already have sent the video to our technician who analyzed the video for us." She said and looks at me.

"What!?" I replied in surprise.

Looking at my clueless face she gave me a dangerous look. It is as if she would kill me with her stare. She looks dangerously serious so I decided to walk in front of the Captain and then began to speak.

"Ahem!" I cleared my throat then began to open my mouth.

"A-about this... technology we recently seen." I stuttered and mumbled.

"Could you speak clearly so that we could understand your statement young man!" The Captain said.

Tatiana was indeed furious this time and her stare indeed pierces me to my core. I could feel the chill that reached my spine that time.

"I think she's going to kill me." I said to myself and then looks towards the Captain.

"Camouflage!" The first word that came from my mouth.

The people around the room were looking at each other, it seems like from their chatter they sound convinced with my theory. Tatiana's stare is still the same, probably she knows that I am bluffing. She sent me hand signal telling me that. "You'd better know what you are saying. Or else, I'll kill you!" With matching lip syncing to her hand signals.

That seductive and sultry woman that I happen to speak earlier could be this terrifying if angry. I will have to make sure my bluff is believable or else she may not leave me alone. Maybe she will indeed kill me if I cannot make any sense in my explanation.

I continued to talk and then began explaining, "As you see, camouflage works with light. The flicker that we saw earlier was light reflecting towards the camouflage device we have seen. It is impossible actually to create Physics bending weapon with limited power source. I am sure that these people utilizing such weapons are using limited batteries for them."

The room was silent for a moment and then inquiries from the people around me suddenly filled the room. There were a lot of questions that were raised, hearing the commotion the Captain ordered for silence.

"Very well, your words seemed sensible and interesting young man. Now tell me, how do we beat these things?" The Captain asked me.

"I haven't figured that out yet." I said and shyly looks away.

"I shall give you three days to figure this out." The Captain said and adjourned the meeting.

The end of the meeting gave me a slight relief from my shoulders. I guess that was the most stressful briefing that I have been to.

All of a sudden, arms enveloped me from my back. The warmth it brings to me gave me a sudden sense of comfort until I tried to look behind me and heck it was Tatiana.

"What the heck!?" I exclaimed and escaped from her grasp.

"I missed you!" She pouted in reply.

"God, what the hell is wrong with you. I think you flirt around with people. I ain't their kind and you ain't my type!" I said to her.

"I only do this to you..." She said doing her seductive antics again.

"That won't work on me. What do you want anyway?" I asked her.

Her seductive smile breaks before she speak and said, "I know you are bluffing!"

I replied to her fixing my collar and said, "Merely, just a bit... You were scary that's why I made some things up. But the camouflage thing is true, I just don't happen to know how it works." I explained.

"Let's go to my room." She said asked me to follow her.

While walking we chat a bit about her role in the Legion. She works in the intelligence division and has been troubled about the recent incidents of sudden death of our Brothers and Sisters in arms.

"Is that so?" I asked.

"Yes..." She said and continued to speak.

"Life as an intelligence officer is hard, you will have to be resourceful and it takes a lot of effort. It is something not the likes of grunts and technicals like you can understand."

"Well, yeah... I get your point. So, why are you always taking me to your quarters?" I asked her.

"It's because I liked you!" She replies mischievously once more with that seductive face.

"Seriously cut the act, can we at least speak normally!" I protested thinking that she is getting out of control.

"There are spies everywhere!" Her expression suddenly changed and replied like she muttered the words she is saying.

I barely heard what she said and was puzzled in what she is trying to mean. Without knowing it, we are already in front of her room and she invited me saying.

"Here we are master!" She said in an animated tone.

"I give up, there's no changing her." I said and proceeded to her room after she entered.

Meanwhile, in a distant town two huge men entered a bar with them are two women clad in strange cloaks. Their companions at least four of them are strange looking people who had messy hair and untidy faces. They walk towards the counter where the bartender was and the two men ordered some beer

"What about for the ladies?" One of the huge men asked.

The two women looked at each other, the other shakes her head while the other proceeded to order.

"One martini." She said.

The companion of the huge man chuckles and said, "Very typical!"

A scoff was replied to the man by the other lady who was at the counter beside him.

"The blood sisters honor our word. I hope you have the money to pay us for our service." The woman sipping the martini said.

"It will be done! Half as down payment." The huge man said.

"Ricky!" The other huge man shakes his head.

"Errrr..." Ricky cleared his throat and corrected himself. "Thee fourths of the promised amount".

"Very well, we have a deal." The woman said and counted the credits.

"It shall be swift! Her companion beside her replied.

"We have a Legion that will fall gentlemen!" Ricky the huge bearded man said to his companions.
