4 __THREE__

I waited for almost 20 minutes, beside Aiden's car, for him to get ready and sneak out of the house without even making a sound. More or less after 20 minutes, he showed up. He was wearing a grey sweatshirt and a pair of black trousers.

"heya, come here. And for God's sake come fast..." I said waving my hands.

"shussssshhhhh" he said while he jogged towards his car, keeping his index finger on his mouth.

I looked here and there to make sure our aunt wasn't looking at us. Aiden then came up to me and pulled me behind his car. out of irritation, I shoved his arm, which was having a firm grip on my shoulders. The moment I was going to speak, he hushed me again.

"Keep your voice down. Look at the doorway." he forced my head to look straight, at the doorway.

Within a few seconds, we saw a man walked up to our door. To be honest, I don't judge people by their looks but this man did not give me any good vibes. I looked up at Aided, who was now trying to get a good look at that man.

"Do you know him?" I asked, keeping my voice low and my face straight.

"Naah, but have seen him before. I think...." he stopped mid-sentence as he held my right arm. I followed the direction where his eyes were fixed. I found my aunt standing in front of the door, having a good talk with that stranger. It seemed that they were arguing. I opened my mouth to say something, but again, Aiden hushed me.

We kept quiet until the man left our place. We saw our aunt, get back in the house and shut the door. Aiden told me that something was not in place and our Father must know about this creepy guy as soon as possible. We then changed our plans. we decided to go to our father's office and not to Shern's anymore. The only reason Aiden asked me to talk with dad was that they both did not share a good bond. Perhaps, dad showed more interest in knowing me than him, but it was only Aiden's side of his view. If you ask me, I would say, it was a total childish play not to talk to dad cause our dad didn't even want any partialities to take place in the home. As a single parent, he managed to give whatever we wanted and made sure we were happy.

In no time, both of us were standing in front of my dad's office. Aiden stepped out of his car and asked me to follow him. We then went up to my dad's cabin but was soon disappointed when the lady in white asked us to wait outside his cabin. She told us that my dad was having a meeting with his clients, so we must wait if we wanted to meet him.

After a good hold of minutes, that same lady in white, asked us to go inside the cabin. Aiden pushed me to go inside while he walked up to the couch, in the office.

As I entered his cabin, I saw two men sitting with their back towards me and my dad was standing exactly opposite to them. The moment I entered his cabin, I saw how his focus shifted from his clients towards me. That's the reason why I like him the most. No matter what or how busy he is, he always has time for both his children.

As I stepped further near him, I saw him approaching me. He gave me a slight hug and patted my head.

"You want something?" he asked with curiosity.

"No No... I was just....." I slurred when I turned my face and saw a familiar figure, sitting on the chair.

"You simply wanted to meet me? Or you have something else on your mind, honey?" my dad commented.

"Sorry dad, I was just...." I was losing track of my words. So I decided to say random stuff so as not to make a fool of myself. " I thought you might be free so I asked Aiden to drop me off here.... ummm.... I wanted to talk to you about Aiden's 18th birthday..." I finally figured out what to say rather, what not to say. "He will be there at home when you will return, so just thought we could talk...." I added with a soft, innocent face.

"That's perfect, but I am a bit busy now. You can wait if you want to or you may head home, I'll be there soon" He said with a small smile on his face.
