New home

Max stood in front of a large building. It looked out-of-place as not only was made from a different material, not stone as any other buildings inside this castle-looking structure, but the look of it and the aura surrounding it were different.

Max made his way inside, opening the beautifully carved door and taking a few steps inside.

What greeted him was a hallway that split off in two. Max looked around and saw two signs that pointed in different directions, on one read M while on the other F, for one you had to turn right while for the other you had to turn left respectively. There was a set of stairs at each end of the hallway and a small metal board which wrote '40-80' on it and Max understood what it meant, it didn't take a genius to do so.

He took the stairs and while doing so he remarked something, it was strangely quiet inside.

'Am I in the wrong building?' Max wondered but trusted Lutz's indications. He continued ascending up the stairs while looking at his key. 'M-42' He repeated inside his head.

Max finally stood in front of a door which had carved inside it 'M-42'. He inserted the key and turned the doorknob. A clicking sound was heard signaling that the door is unlocked and Max slowly pushed the door slowly.

It opened without resistance and it made no noise. Max entered his room as the wooden floor creaked under his weight.

'It is so much better than the dorms I was in before but it is to be expected...' Max cheered, he felt satisfied with the level of comfort the academy provided.

"So where do we put this now?" Max asked himself while looking around his new home. He looked around and chose where to begin. He went over to his bed then placed the crate on it, swiftly opening it afterward.

The room was nice, there weren't any faults when it came to its structure but the problem was the inside of it, it was a generic room, completely bland with nothing special in it. There was a bed with a wooden stand and a lamp on top of it. The bed wasn't anything special, it looked more expensive than what his bed back home was but that didn't matter as much, he didn't think he was going to sleep for a lot of time.

On the bed's right, a window was placed and it was the only source of light inside the room as of now. If one was to look a bit more to the right side of the bed they would see a weapon racket and as one entered the room, at the entrance, a wardrobe was placed for clothing on the left side of the door.

"I should start with the clothes..." Max thought out loud while picking some of his clothes up.

'Finally finished' Max looked around the room proudly. On the walls there were now different objects which changed the bland style of it. Max placed all of his clothes inside the wardrobe and hanged his old shield along with some bows, spears, and swords on the walls. The only weapon placed inside the weapon rack was Max's current spear and shield.

The day changed to night as Max unpacked the small crate of stuff he had, now the whisp in the center of the room burned brightly, emanating light throughout Max's room.

'It took a surprising amount of time.' Max admitted.

While checking around his room he went into the bathroom and that is where he found something interesting. After he entered the bathroom he could see another door on the other side of the room, he checked it out and entered the next room, M-43.

'So rooms are connected between each other?' Max thought at that moment but it felt understandable, they couldn't supply an individual bathroom for each of the students, they most probably didn't even have the space to do such a thing even if they had enough money to spare.

He looked out the window and that is when he spotted three individuals coming from the center of the academy, chatting away while making their way towards the dorm. It was dark outside so Max wasn't able to describe them, the only thing he could make out was that the silhouettes were boys that looked about the same age as Max.

'So I was one of the first people to register, it's good to know' Max reassured himself. He didn't find anyone in the morning so he was becoming a bit paranoid about it, but now he was finally able to confirm his thoughts.

'Matt what do you think, have I been enough on a break? Can I meditate for now?' Max asked inside his thoughts the quiet Matt, he hasn't been talking over the few days but Max knew that he just didn't have something to talk about.

'Yes it should be alright, why are you asking?' Matt wondered after hearing Max's question.

'Nothing, I just want to call it a night for today.' Max answered while making his way to his bed, adopting a meditation position and beginning to concentrate around his body.

Darkness slowly filled the room, the whisp of light that illuminated the room Max was in got consumed inside the boundless darkness generated from around Max, which was oblivious to what was happening around him.

'When are you going to at least try and use the amount of magic I have gathered?' Max asked while collecting the Darkness Magic Particles around him.

'We can try to do it without any information about it but I thought we should wait to at least gather info on the Darkness element at least, as I told you I don't know it all.' Mat responded seemingly annoyed at the impatient Max. They were close to finding materials about the Darkness element yet over the two years Max only now asked about it.

'Don't get so easily annoyed, I am too excited after all that has happened, I am sorry.' Max apologized to Matt and he accepted his apologies.

While Max was busy meditating though, a certain person inserted a key and opened a door with a click.

'Room M-43' The boy thought before retrieving the key from the keyhole and closing the door.
