I meant what I said to Amanda. I didn't want her to think less of me because of what had happened that day, and I didn't want to take liberties with her.

I didn't need her response. She had the right to accept and think about it again.

Soon, we arrived at Amanda's home. I never knew that she lived here. The only time the driver went to pick her up, I didn't tag along, so when I saw where she lived, I couldn't help but start to size the place up with some scrutiny.
