soon after the initiation, the teams were announced and the kids were shown to their rooms, coincidentally, team RWBY and JNPR, had rooms opposite to each other, this made things easier for Ethan, he had wanted to talk to ruby and the Nikos girl about something,

after watching them fight, Ethan felt that Pyrrah was the perfect candidate to receive the powers of the fall maiden Amber, should the need ever arise, when he talked to Ozpin about it, he refused, saying that a student did not need to concern herself with these things, so Ethan gave up the idea, but then he remembered something,

a few months ago, shortly after he arrived on the remnant, he had raided the Sanctum Academy in

Mistral for one of his bounty, he had stalked his target, a teacher in the school who had associated with an underground gang in the city of Argus to kidnap orphan girls that joined the school and sell them off as slaves on different continents,

after he had devoured the teacher, he was confronted by a redhead who was about to graduate from the school, thankfully, he had hidden his god arc and wore a completely black dress which concealed him in the night to escape, but he could never forget how she bravely followed him to do what she felt was right, this had left a deep impression on him,

soon, he arrived at the room of team RWBY, just in time to see an utter Chaos, the beds were arranged in a very precarious way, the room was filled with paintings, clothes, and books,

"what the hell is going on here?" he shouted to which the bickering students stopped and turned towards their new teacher,

"Mr. Ethan what are you doing here?" ruby asked to which the rest of the team also showed the same confused looks,

"i came here because professor port's class had already begun, and i did not find you and team JNPR in the class," he said to which the team paled and ran, he then turned towards the open door of JNPR who were peeking out of their door,

"what are you guys looking at, get to the class NOW!!" he shouted to which the team started running, Ethan then sighed,

"crap, i completely forgot about why i came to JNPR" he mumbled and left for port's class which he was assisting port in,

during the class, Ethan found the behavior of the Schnee girl to be too arrogant but he tolerated it as it was his job to correct their mistakes,

but after the class, when she said to port that the headmaster had made a mistake in choosing ruby as the leader instead of her, he could not take her naivety anymore and said,

"You think you are very powerful and exceptional Ms.Schnee? then how about a test?" he said, without giving the shocked girl any time to react, he released a tiny amount of the killing intent, unknowingly awakening the black devil from its sleep in the excitement of a fight and start giving off a black aura,

the poor girl was nearly scared to death as she watched the normally calm and quiet professor be surrounded by a black aura, the feeling of death coming from him terrified her so much that she almost disgraced herself in the open, but then, just as it arrived, the aura vanished and the pressure was relieved, port then sighed and said,

"you see Ms.Schnee?, you are not even able to handle the aura of a teacher, much less a Grimm, So instead of fretting about what you don't have, savor what you do. Hone your skills, perfect every technique, and be, not the best leader, but the best person you can be" he said to which the girl calmed down and nodded,

although port had said that to encourage his student, in reality, he himself was terrified of the aura that had come from Ethan, he had never in his life felt so much fear, even when he had faced off a Wyvern Grimm alone,

it had been a few weeks since the incident, and team RWBY had mellowed out a little bit, Ethan had also managed to talk to Pyrrha and they became friends,

but in the meanwhile, he had also noticed that Cardin Winchester was bullying both Jaune and a senior student called Velvet, why she did not retaliate was still confusing him,

some days later, in the cafeteria, he was sitting a few tables away from the students to eat his lunch, then he saw how Cardin was torturing Velvet and could not take it anymore,

this leads us to the current situation,

"You think you are being funny Mr.Winchester?" he said in a serious tone to which Cardin bowed mockingly and said,

"i am sorry 'professor', i did not see you there-" before he could complete his sentence, he choked on his words as the hall became quiet,

the reason was because of a minigun shoved in his face that already had its barrels spinning, ready to spew out oracle cell-based ammo that dust could not heal,

"let me make this clear Cardin Winchester, i am not like the rest of the teachers, i am a combat instructor, meaning, i can cause every single bone in your body to break apart and then have you healed all in the name of 'training', so think wisely about what you say" he said and removed the black devil which shifted back into it's blade form and walked out of the hall leaving behind a dumbfounded room, with a few exceptions such as JNPR and RWBY along with velvet, who were looking at his retreating form in awe,

that night, on the roof of the beacon, we can see Ethan standing on the roof overlooking the city, suddenly he heard a voice,

"That was an interesting way to intimidate a student, Professor" he turned around to find none other than Pyrrha, his eyes softened as he smiled,

"i know that people like him are not persuaded by talking, they need to see the threat with their eyes to fear it," he said,

"Speaking from experience?"

"something like that," he said, Pyrrha then gave a knowing smirk and said,

"then you should have worn all black clothes with your weapon hidden in the black fog to intimidate him even more, after all, it worked very well in Sanctum"

this surprised Ethan who then said,

"so you figured it out?"

"well, anyone else would not have been able to, but i had chased you and fought you, although briefly, so i was able to recognize the stance you took against Cardin, don't worry, no one in sanctum hates you for what you did, after the assassination, much evidence linking that wretched teacher to human trafficking was uncovered so everyone is thankful for what you did" she said with a bright smile to which Ethan looked away towards the sky in thought,
