Born With Crippled Profound Veins

Blue Pole Star, Profound Sky Continent, Blue Wind Empire

In an inconspicuous village, a child was being born. A female doctor was attending the needs of the mother who was in deep pain. Not long enough, the cries of a newborn baby was eventually heard.

"It's a boy", the doctor said with a smile on her face.

"He shall be called, Fang Yuan", Fang Bai (FY's mom) said with a compassionate look on her face. Not long after, her face became visibly pale. The amount of blood loss and the stress of childbirth has given a large toll on her body.

"I don't have much time left. I hope you live a good life, Yuan'er", were her last words before finally dying.[1]

----------------------------------

Fang Yuan's father died from a profound beast in the mountains. His mom died during his birth. This caused him to become an orphan. He was a strange child, to say the least. The children in his village were energetic and adventurous, whilst he was aloof and always had a cold expression.

"Hmph, there he goes again with that expression", a child said

"He is too full of himself; only 3 years old but arrogant to the extreme", a man in his teenage years said.

"But his poems are quite impressive, especially his 'Invicticus'[2], it is truly a testament of his incredible potential and ambitions", an old man said while stroking his white beard

"Indeed, indeed", another agreed

He was able to talk and walk only few months after his birth. He had outstanding intelligence and comprehension. Everyone in his village thought that he was a future cultivation genius.

But one day, a doctor adorned in white and blue robes came to their village, scouting for geniuses.

"It is our honor to be visited by a person of great status" the village head cupped his fist and said with an enthusiastic expression on his face.

"You are too polite, no need for formalities" The doctor replied, also cupping his fist, returning the greeting.

This doctor checked the children's Profound Veins one by one. All of them were either below average or unexceptional. The children were discouraged whilst their parents were consoling them.

The doctor sighed in disappointment. It was eventually Fang Yuan's turn.

"?!?!"

The doctor had a surprised expression on his face. The people in the village assumed that Fang Yuan was a great talent. However...

"This child has crippled Profound Veins, deeming him unable to cultivate"

Everyone in the village was shocked.

"How could this brilliant child be a cripple?"

They all felt some pity towards him. With his intelligence, he should be able to become a successful cultivator in the future.

While everyone was gossiping about Fang Yuan's unfortunate revelation, Fang Yuan himself had a calm expression in his face.

(Note: His appearance is the same as his original one from the Gu World")

"It's similar to my life in the Gu World. Could it be that Heaven's Will caused this as well?" Fang Yuan naturally had his speculations about this world when he transmigrated.

He was an orphan on top of having no cultivation talent.

"Is my arrival to this world an arrangement by the heavens? Or is it something that coincidentally just happened?"

----------------------------------

After all that has happened, the day has ended as the sun fell down and the moon rose.

Fang Yuan was in his personal room, contemplating about things under the moonlight.

He had his eyes closed, seemingly concentrating. After some time, he finally opened his eyes and released a sigh of relief.

"I can feel the presence of Heaven and certain elements."

"Fire element, Water Element, Wind Element, Space, Time, and such exists in this world."

"It seems like the fragments of the Dao in the Gu World also remains relevant here, although, a bit different."

"But I can't seem to manipulate them; I believe that I have to use this so-called 'Profound Energy', similar to the Primieval and Immortal Essence Gu Masters and Gu Immortals used to use Gu."

Fang Yuan was busy speculating about certain things, until a sudden flash appeared.

This flash hit his mind as he was knocked out, leaving him unconscious

[1] MC's parents gon have to die again

[2] It's a real poem I found particularly fitting for Fang Yuan

I was thinking about sticking to having FY take Yun Che's place or making a totally new non-cannon approach. I decides to go with the latter. The problem with sticking to the cannon was the fact that we already know what's gonna happen. If I made FY take YC place, the story would just, for the most part, become a repetition. So I decided to keep YC as is whilst Fang Yuan would be his own character. I also envisioned FY to have some kind of connection to YC; expect them to have some "connections"
