Chapter 1Finally free

After snowing for half a month, today finally a grey but snowless sky could be seen. An Xiulan looked up towards the sky and saw a hint of the warm sun hidden beneath the sky as if playing hide and seek with the earthlings. This year, for the first time, it had snowed for half a month straight. 

"An Xiulan!" She heard the sound of her sister calling for her. She had never heard her siblings ever wanting to talk to her. She was the neglected and bullied daughter of Duke An Mingli of the great Dragon empire. 

As she looked behind to find her sister, she felt someone pushing her body into the frozen lake. It was her favourite spot in the entire Duke household because she had heard her father's wives grumbling in jealousy how Duke still maintained the lake built on the request of her late mother Zhu Qinyan. 

She felt the piercing shards of ice-penetrating into her body, which was nothing but skin and bones. The freezing temperature of the lake numbed her body. She couldn't feel anything, neither pain nor pleasure. 

She was finally free. Her step-siblings wouldn't have to formulate more schemes to get rid of her or bully her. 

An Xiulan was dead, but why were her legs paining so much all of a sudden? Dead couldn't feel anything? 

And what was the warm thing placed on her legs? 

She remembered how her older sister pushed her into the freezing lake. The ice of the lake had broken with her weight and she had died in the cold. She remembered every last moment, every last breath she had taken there on the cold deathbed. 

"Lanlan, wake up," An Xiulan heard the soft cries of a woman. "Don't scare mom. Lanlan, please wake up. Mom promises that she will never leave you alone."

When An Xiulan heard the woman's cry, she wondered 'Who is this woman? And why was she calling herself mom?'

Then a thought entered her mind. Could it be that she had died and this was her afterlife? Tears started trickling down her eyes. 'Mom, Lanlan missed you too. I finally met you. Father never cared for me. Why didn't you die with me? Why did you leave me alone there?'

An Lanlan was Duke An Mingli's eldest daughter. Although she was the legitimate daughter of the An family, her status in the family was even lower than a slave. Even a slight servant could bully her to their heart's desire. 

Her mother Zhu Qinyan was the daughter of the previous emperor but after her evil uncle took the throne after killing his father, he never showed any care or interest for his sister. Qinyan was thrown into the family of wolves and one unfortunate night when she couldn't bear to live anymore, she hung herself to death. 

"Lanlan please wake up, "The woman cried again. 

An Xiulan couldn't bear to hear her cries anymore. She wanted to raise her hand and wipe the woman's tears but she felt thousands of glass shreds pricking her body. Glass shreds made up of ice. 

Thousands of images flooded her vision making her shriek in pain. She was tortured by her own family. She was forbidden to leave her broken and dark courtyard. She had seen her sister and brothers getting married and having babies while she was locked in the old courtyard to her nightmares. 

Every day she would smile and pray to God that perhaps one day she would leave that horrid house and have a family of her own but that day never came. 

She eventually died,  falling in the frozen lake. 

And now she was meeting her mother in the afterlife. 

'Mom, wait for me. I want to meet you.'

'I want to see you once.'

OKAY. WHY IS THIS BOOK GETTING FEW LOVE?! YOU GUYS ARE REALLY MISSING OUT. Sigh. I‘m going to try and see if I could give you a spoiler-free review, but no promises! You have been warned~~ If you are looking for a story that will give you a heart-pounding angst or depressing feeling, then this one is not for you. The story is not heavy, not complicated and definitely not about those cold CEO and OP FLs. BUT if you’re looking for a light read, a fluffy and easygoing story, then this one, you will definitely like! I can’t even count how many times I’ve laughed out loud reading this! As early as the first 10 chapters, you won’t be able to stop yourself from laughing. The story is so cute and funny that it’s such a nice break from all those heavy dramas here on WN. The story started from our FL’s last moment in her previous life before transmigrating to the moderm era. So everything about the modern time, she is not familiar and just starting to get herself familiar, so imagine all her misconceptions and mistakes, it’s very very funny 🙈 I love how stupidly innocent our FL is 🤣 And not in a bad way, okay! She is so adorable all the time! She has a big Mommy complex, and everything her Mom says is right, especially about puppy love (if you get what I mean 🤣)! She’s thekind of stupid that you would want to protect on instincts and that’s what happens to everyone that she meets including her tsundere twin 🙈 So far the conflict is just around familial problems and some not so serious ones which I appreciate as I‘m really looking forward to a light read/stories. Everyone is very likable, even the stepmother. And I love how the FL’s more is more incharge than the dad, and is even a self made Billionaire! 😉 So give this one a try, you might be missing out your next favorite story! Give our baby Lanlan a chance to make you laugh! 💕

Its been a while since an author was able to make me binge read her novel! Usually even if I really enjoy a novel I would have to take several breaks still bc that is the kind of person I am (easily distracted, etc) but for the first time in a while I basically read this in one sitting and pulled an all nighter for this! That says a lot bc if you see in my bio I read A LOT haha Is this my usual cup of tea? Yes and no because a lot of the time I prefer deeper revenge plots however this is a very light hearted novel that can still make me emotional with laughter and cries! 10/10 recommend if you enjoy light stories or want a break from heavier ones! 加油!

Seldom have i come across a book that has a wealth of beautifully created characters besides the MCs. The story-line creates a balanced view of the world and life, from the young Mcs, to the adults' world. Which is crucial to the development and integrity of the story. This is a book that contains many a serious & deep 'life-topics', but addresses them within a positive, all encompassing, compassionate but ultimately accepting and understanding framework.✨A scarce but great treasure in the webnovel world.✨Having said that, my favourite part is the sheer cuteness, the adorable & funny shamelessness of the young MCs. I really look forward to the rest of the book, and if possible, getting a glimpse into the life of the grown-up version of our Doting-Tyrant & his Adorable Wifey... I liked this story alot. Specially Han zixin and An xiulan, their friendship, their disguised puppy 💕 love. Never I have ever thought that I would feel jealous of character 🥲.I really felt An xiulan is really Lucky.And this novel touches every topic as an adolescent should know.As the saying goes: sometimes we need fantasy to survive reality 💪.

I'm not gonna give a 5 star for a story filled with love rivals and the mc being braindead stuck living back in the past. The reason this doesn't get much love is because as I mentioned Love rival's ruin the story, much less the mc inconsistently being stupidly brainless when the body she is in supposedly had learned 2 languages, and already knows how to drive; yet she can't seem to do anything with the memories literally handed to her, She's got a mom complex which I won't hate on but you're making her out to be... I can't exactly say it but consider the word "Stupid" and find a synonym the starts with "R" and ends with "D." I can't speak for the rest of the novel but this just oozes "Courting Death." So even if I really wanted to read, I still can't stand multiple people going after the same idiotic fl when clearly she has no idea where she even is at this point. No hate but this isn't for me, I've read alot of Qidian but they all atleast give you a clear picture of what to expect rather than fleshing out all the character so you can screw over the people who read just for one of the ML.

i had read more than 200 chapters of this novel and i can guarantee this is one of the best novel I have read. the story development in neither fast nor slow. the characters of the novel are fabulous, the doesn't seem fictional and progress like a real human being. specially the way author has written this novel is superb. she is really wise and had taught a lesson in every chapter. author has perfectly described the difficulties, situations, behaviour, needs of the teenager and there are many important lessons i have learned during reading this novel I would really say that the way author wrote this novel in super amazing. would like to read more of this 😍😍❤️❤️

Well, it’s a no for me. Because even though she was locked, didn’t she get the memories from old host of the body. How come she doesn’t know how to use credit card or money. It’s a common sense. And for rabbit, she wants to eat to save her mother money, seriously, she has been using cars and eating food feasts. Doesn’t she know from her memories that her mother has enough money. Even If FL have to be innocent, there is other ways to make her innocent. There’s so many things that makes not to read. She clearly got the memories from old host and old host knows everything about her world. Or if she didn’t get any memories then that will be a different story.

The Female lead is innocent and a little bit stupid? honestly I'm not sure about how i feel about her character, there's some inconsistencies in her memories, it said that she has the memory of the previous owner but she still doesn't know anything about the new world, she is still going around mentioned emperor Qing even though she knows in this new world there is no emperor anymore, she doesn't know how to use money but didn't she have the memory? she retained the previous owner's ability to speak English and mandarin but the ability to use money? nope, the background is too simple to my liking, in short it's a simple and cute story, the author definitely has talent for writing novels, but it's not my cup of tea, thanks for the novel, i wish to see your next better creation..

The story is interesting...it's warm cute and sweet...The world is unknown for the FL...She is trying to adapt and do her best for this god's second chance...its not about revenge like all of the transmigration novel does...it's more about trying to build herself and protect the love that is given to her...I am loving this story ❤️❤️❤️
