Chapter 5 - Find Another Quirk and Preparing For The UA School Entrance Exam

1 month has passed since my public appearance. In that 1 month, Monoma spent most of his time practicing using new quirks and other exercises in preparation for entering the UA academy.

"Hufftt... Looks like I've been able to control these 3 Quirks I got."

Monoma was currently entering his house after finishing training. By now his body looked tired and full of sweat to the point where the clothes he was wearing were soaking wet.

"Ah.... Nothing beats the pleasure of relaxing on a soft sofa with a cola after a hot shower."

Currently Monoma is relaxing himself after going through a fairly intense training while thinking about what he will do before the UA entrance test.

"Looks like I'll be looking for another Quirk again..."

"I already have 3 other Quirks besides my main Quirk. However, unfortunately I feel lacking in some ways."

"The Quirks I get are focused on attack and movement, I need another Quirk that serves as a defense if I want to continue to survive in my every fight."

Monoma then turned on the TV and checked his smartphone to see the news and things that happened today.

"Back again on Hero News, the appearance of Super Hero no.1 All might really shocked people. At that time All Might managed to catch the criminal and save 2 students who had been held hostage by the criminal."

"As expected, at this time Midoriya will definitely start training by all might for 3 months before gaining the power of one for all."

"Well... Of course I won't lose either and start looking for a new Quirk since it seems the media and the public have also forgotten about my existence since my last appearance."

"But before that, I better rest because I'm too tired."

2 months on, Monoma is always doing a little bit of light training and getting ready for the night action.

While Monoma was mourning her sorrow on one of the rooftops, unexpectedly there was a commotion somewhere on the outskirts of town so that her sad face earlier turned into the smile of a child about to get her new toy.

"Hopefully this is the target I've been looking for all along."

Monoma then flew quickly towards the place he was aiming for and then stopped near that location to monitor his target.

"Haha... Finally!"

Arriving at the place, there were 2 battles involving heroes and villains and the surroundings were filled with people watching the fight.

"If I'm not mistaken... That hero is called The Rock. As the name suggests, he has the ability to turn his body into rock."

"Well... Although it's not as strong as the other defensive-type Quirks that can become as hard as iron or diamond, this is enough for me."

"Then the villain... I don't know who it is but it seems that its power is only to create a blinding flash of light."

"It seems that the battle is also coming to an end and of course the victor is the hero as the power ratio is very far."

"Defeat that villain The Rock!"

At the scene, the hero manages to corner and knock the villain down so the people start cheering for the hero's victory.

"Please give up you villains. You've already lost."

"Shit..."

Just as the villain was starting to stand up to surrender and accept his defeat, suddenly another person dressed in black appeared from the sky behind him and stabbed him in the back.

"Ugh...!"

"Hey you, what are you doing?!"

"Don't run, stop right there!"

Before the hero managed to stop the incident, the mysterious person then immediately flew back after carrying out the stabbing action.

"Shit... he's dead."

"Call an ambulance and the authorities, I'll try to catch up to the mysterious man."

After checking the state of the villain being attacked and suddenly attacked by a mysterious person, The Rock then decided to pursue the mysterious person.

"Actually I don't want to kill the criminal. But, with this I can lure The Rock because I don't want to fight him in the crowd."

"Basically I also don't want to cause unnecessary casualties because one of my Quirks namely fire breath has a wide attack range and also so they don't pay too much attention to me."

"Oh... Looks like the plan is going well, The rock is running after me from below and we're close to where I'm going."

After flying for a while, flying a little slowly so the rock could still follow him, Monoma then stopped at one of the abandoned buildings he found around the area.

"Hufftt... Hufft... Stop there criminals, you're under arrest for murder."

"Well... As it seems, I did kill him. So, try to catch me."

Monoma took action first by flying close to the rock then giving a punch at him but was easily deflected.

"Okay, I've touched and copied the Quirk." Mumbled Monoma.

Then in addition, he threw the kitchen knife he had bought at the shop earlier at the Rock.

*Check... Check...

"Shit... even though I was aiming for the soft parts like the neck but apparently that part also seems to be hardening too."

"It's not that easy a criminal, My body is as hard as a rock that blocks the waves of evil."

"Oh really?"

"Yep, whatever you do you can never hurt... What?"

*Shrink....

"Ah... my eyes... how could you have a Quirk that looks like the villain's before?!"

"You know, no matter how hard the skin of living things like turtles, crabs, pangolins, and others. They will eventually die from the heat if burned."

"What do you mean?"

"Haha ignore it. I too, I've been meaning to say this for a long time..."

"Katon • Gokakyu no Jutsu!"

"Ugh... What?!"

As he slowly opened his eyes that were hurting from being hit by a very bright light directly and suddenly, the first thing the rock saw was a huge fireball that suddenly appeared and aimed at him.

"Uaggghhhh!"

A sizeable explosion accompanied by screams of pain the rock sounded a few meters from the scene and eventually destroyed the building.

"Pant... Pant... Looks like it worked."

Shortly before the fireball attack managed to completely destroy the building, Monoma managed to fly out of the building leaving only rubble and the rock that looked charred and lay lifeless.

"To think I can actually create a fireball attack similar to the uchiha clan moves from another famous anime series, Naruto."

"Even though at first it was just an ordinary fire breath but after really practicing I was able to become like this. So, if I train even harder I can match Sasuke's or Madara's fire-breathing technique?"

"Well... I don't know. We'll see. The point is I've managed to find the Quirk I've wanted all along."

"Okay, I better have to leave this place because the sound of the explosion will definitely make the authorities and heroes come to this place."

Having finished with his business, Monoma then immediately left the scene. Of course, first immediately change his clothes so as not to be suspected then walk home like a normal person and act like nothing happened.

"Finally... I'm home."

"I am very tired."

"Hot water... I'm coming!"

After relaxing his tired body from the previous battle with the warm water, Monomapun leaned back on the sofa as usual with cola while thinking about what had happened and what he would do next.

"I've killed another person... I also feel a little guilty but what do I expect?"

"In this cruel world where the strong wins I must get used to my actions so that I can face all the obstacles that will come my way."

After fighting with the thoughts that weighed on him, Monoma also turned his mind to another place, namely the UA entrance exam which was only 1 month away.

"Oh yeah, the UA School Entrance Exam is still a month away. I also have to study knowledge so that I can pass the most difficult test because I am very confident in my physical test."

"Shit... I forgot that I'm not from this world so there might be some different or additional sciences that didn't exist in my old world."

"Apart from UA, I also don't think I'm going to look for Quirks for a while. I need to focus on finding ways to get even better money and weapons first."

"It's not that I don't believe in my abilities. However, they are very helpful in combat and there's no way I should continue to use a kitchen knife as my weapon."

With all these thoughts, Monoma finally fell asleep on the sofa due to the physical and mental exhaustion he had experienced so far.
