As Mizuki and Obito went back to their positions and began to relax, they left several members of the class in shock.
After all, not only had the boy who was a year younger than them able to be so proficient in sparring, so to was Obito.
Who, nt even a week ago, was considered to easily be the worst shinobi in their class.
Anko approached Mizuki as soon as the fight ended, weaving through the crowd of students to find him chatting with Obito and gave him a slap on the back.
Anko: "Good Job Mizuki, I expect nothing less of my deskmate!"
Her voice contain an obvious satire behind them
The silver haired boy gave a proud, exaggerated smile back to her before laughing, just barely getting out a reply before starting to think about where he could improve for next time.
Instructor: "When did Obito get that good?"
The chunin instructor thought to himself.
Before, he was one of the worst students in the entire year, and yet now he could easily be placed in the top ten, maybe even the top five if he was stretching.
{Just how much more will he grow?}
{is it possible that he was a diamond in the rough?}
Regaining his composure after an odd thirty seconds, the instructor realized that all of the students were staring at him now.
Trying to recover, he announced the next match to try to move the spotlight off of himself.
"The next match will be Shisui Uchiha vs Asuma Sarutobi"
All of the students appeared to be confident, shouting out encouragement for their older classmate.
Genin 1: "GO ASUMA!"
Genin 2: "Teach him how it's done!"
A faint blush could be seen on Kurenai's face as she tried to discreetly get a good view of what is to come.
Whilst some of the class cheered loudly for him, others stepped forward, clearly supporting there classmate, albeit silently, and this occurred mostly without exception.
The most prominent of these exceptions, of course, being Obito and Mizuki.
After spending the last few days being put through a training straight out of hell with him, they both knew exactly how this match would end.
Feeling pity for Asuma, both of the boys started to discreetly pray for their classmate to have a quick recovery after the fight.
Anko noticed something was wrong with Mizuki's reaction and quickly asked him about it.
Anko: "Concerned for your friend?"
Mizuki: "Hardly, concerned for your classmate is more like it."
At this point, Obito butted in.
Obito: "Poor Kid, he had so much to live for too"
Mizuki: "May he rest in peace"
By the time the three finished their conversation, both Asuma and Shisui had stepped into the drawn ring.
Asuma: "Hope we will have a good fight"
Asuma virtually yelled in an enthusiastic voice, although this was clearly a thin veneer, under which his arrogance layed.
Clearly, being the son of the Hokage had not done his humility any favours.
Shisui: "Likewise"
Replied Shisui, his tone being notably lethargic and lazy, a stark contrast to his opponent's.
Waiting for the class to quiet down, the teacher started off the match.
Instructor: "Get ready.."
The boys both formed the traditional hand seal for confrontation.
Instructor: "Begin!"
The fight ended, unsurprisingly, just as quickly as it first commenced, in mere seconds.
After a brief period of silent tension, Asuma was the first to attack.
He rushed forward towards Shisui and threw a powerful cross, clearly intent on finishing the ordeal in one blow.
Clearly unphased, Shisui gently ducked to the side of the fist with minimal effort. Completing the task as if it were as easy as eating or breathing.
He quickly retaliated with a quick punch to the gut, causing Asuma to double over in shock.
As if completing a basic chore, Shisui then continued his devastating combo, his movements each being tight and efficient.
Shisui took advantage of his opponent's state, as he executed a simple low sweep, taking out Asuma's legs and calling him to fall onto the ground.
In less than ten seconds, the expectations of the majority of the group had just been shattered.
Everyone looked at Shisui in awe, as if he had grown a second head.
Sure, Asuma wasn't the greatest Taijutsu master, but he was by no means weak.
He was, after all, the Hokage's son.
Whilst everyone was still in shock, Shisui made the hand seal to signal the end of the fight before helping Asuma up.
The boy walked back to his friends disheartedly with a self-mocking smirk adorned on his face, clearly slightly embarrassed at his earlier bravado.
Shisui gently yawned before walking back to Mizuki.
Shisui: "Aaaand thats how its done!"
Mizuki had a wry smile on his face as he congratulated his friend on his win.
Only just now, was the academy teacher getting himself back to the real world as he announced the result. "Winner: Shisui Uchiha!"
The rest of the day proceeded as normally, with only around half of the class going up to fight one another that day.
Notably, Might Guy and Kakashi Hatake ended up getting called out for their respective matches.
Both of these matches ended up exactly how one would expect them too, with Guy / Kakashi destroying their opponents with ease, showing the canon fodder exactly why they were such.
After Taijutsu had passed, it was time for lunch.
And similar to previous days, Mizuki was starving.
Mizuki: {Nothing quite gets the stomach grumbling like one on one combat}
Mizuki thought to himself as he quickly approached the country to get his food; pork and rice.
Glancing around the dining hall for his friends, after an odd two minutes, Mizuki noticed Obito sitting next to Shisui, with the table having a couple of extra seats to spare.
Sitting down, Shisui greeted his two friends before sitting down and beginning to snarf back their food, they all began to talk about how they could improve.
A line of conversation that both Obito and Mizuki would come to regret as Shisui began to develop a strange gleam in his eye as he decided to up the training regiment, much to the dismay of his two "students."
Glancing around, Mizuki noticed that Anko was at a table with Rin and Kurenai. Now that Obito had some friends, it appears that Rin had some breathing room as well, as she was more free to be independent.
Glancing down at his now empty bowl and up at the rapidly turning clock, Mizuki had a wry smile on his face as he thought about how even without all of the chakra and ninja stuff, he was thankful to be in this reality because of the people he had met.
Rejoice my dear readers! For I have returned!
It's the first day of school and I already want to kill someone, god knows how I will survive the remainder of the school year.
Sorry if the quality went down; I literally wrote this in math class.
Release will probably be sporadic for a whilst until I can sort out a new schedule. (Probably something like monday, wednesday, saturday.)
