Reincarnation

"Hey, Joshua," a woman yelled. The house wasn't particularly big so the other party listened.

"What is it, mom?" Joshua replied.

"Can you get some things for dinner? Come here so I can give you the list," Miranda asked, even though she knew Joshua would do that. He was not crazy to say no to his mother.

Joshua was at his first year of College. He worked in a library, and he lived with his Mother. His father abandoned them a long time ago, but that didn't affect his life in the slightest. Both him and his mother worked very hard to keep everything at bay.

The grocery shop was near their house, and Joshua got there in about five minutes. They lived in an area that few crimes occurred, so Miranda wasn't scare for letting her son leave at night. Joshua was a grown man after all.

He bought some vegetables and pork for a soup. It wasn't a fancy dinner but it was a recipe that they liked. Joshua payed the cashier and left the store, and then something unexpected happened. A robbery. Almost zero crimes happened in that area, and Joshua's luck was bad that day.

The bandit robbed the store. He aimed a gun towards the cashier, and got every bit of money he could find. Joshua saw everything, and the bandit looked towards him, and shot, for no apparent reason.

Joshua tried to cover the wound with his hands, but that didn't stop the bleeding. He agonized in pain, and died inside the shop. The cashier called the ambulance but Joshua didn't make it in time for them to rescue him.

"I'm sorry mom, I didn't want to abandon you like father did..." These were Joshua's last thoughts as his vision got completely dark.

He thought everything was over, yet life gave him another chance. Joshua opened his eyes, and found himself inside a bedroom. It wasn't his bedroom back on his house, as everything was different, and the furniture looked rather antique.

"Where am I?" he thought as his head started to hurt. Memories rush inside his mind, memories that didn't belong to him. Events since birth, and they all merged with his old memories as if he had been that person, and all these memories belonged to him in the first place.

After the pain stopped, Joshua analyzed everything, and he was dumbfounded. Joshua was an avid reader, he worked in a library after all. Novels about cultivation were his favorites, and he always wanted to explore that mystic world of cultivators, and now it had finally happened to him.

He was stuck inside a body of a youth named Joshua, same name as his. This youth wasn't particularly talented, and hadn't even started in his path towards immortality, and that wasn't Joshua's only concern. He knew the real owner of his body, as he was a character inside a cultivation novel he had read back on Earth.

"How's this even possible?" he wondered, and a voice echoed inside his head.

"Hello Joshua. I'm your virtual assistant, how can I help you?"

That was new to Joshua. Joshua in the novel was just a side character that appeared in the first volume, and Joshua himself had only read until volume three. But the guy didn't have a system, only the MC had one. And the system was the problem.

Joshua knew that the system which the MC of the story had, would eventually take over his body, and as the MC body and talent was out of this world, the system would rule over the world of cultivation. Joshua didn't want that to happen. He didn't want to die again, so he needed to find the MC of the story, and prevent that from happening.

"What can you do?" Joshua asked to the system inside his mind.

"I can help you with anything. You can use me as a storage device, so you basically have a perfect memory. You can see me as a potent computer," the system replied.

"If this works in the way I'm thinking, this is overpowered," Joshua was delighted.

The body he now possessed had poor talent for cultivation, but with the system's help, he could overcome that. Joshua would be able to record every martial artist book, every alchemy book, every forging book, and become a living encyclopedia. That would give him a tremendous advantage towards others.

"My best bet is to try to become the MC's teacher, and discover exactly what his system wants, without him realizing it," Joshua thought, and suddenly someone knocked on his door.

"Warning! Someone with high blood pressure outside. Possible reasons, angry with you or horny," A female voice echoed inside Joshua's mind. That was the system talking with him.

"H-horny?" Joshua didn't read that part in the novel. Perhaps was due to the fact that mature content was censored, but now it wasn't.

"Joshua? Are you wake? This lady here wants to deplete some of your energy," Another female voice whispered from behind the door, and without realizing Joshua's friend from beneath was up.

"Come in," Joshua replied.

A gorgeous woman entered in his room. She was wearing a night pajamas that showed everything. Joshua could see her two snowy peaks, and her nipples who were up. She had her hair tied up in a ponytail, and her panty was so small that he was practically naked.

Joshua was stunned by that sight, and she took the opportunity to lock the door behind them, and take her clothes off.

"Now we will have some fun," she said, getting on her knees, taking off Joshua pants. Her tongue did some crazy moments, and Joshua was lost in pleasure...

She left during the night, leaving Joshua who was thinking about what had just happened. He hadn't done that back on Earth, and now he did it in his first day.

"This new world seems promising. I also wish mom was here," The new world filled with possibilities was something Joshua enjoyed, but the absence of his mom still haunted him.

With that thoughts he slept, looking forward to his first day in the path of cultivation.
