Chapter 166 - Yang's Date (1)

[The 2 Days After Merlot's Island]

Shallot was waking up after getting some sleep and wanted to grab something to eat. He tried sitting up when he realized that Ruby was on his chest again and looked around to see where Yang was since she wasn't on his side.

Shallot slowly slid Ruby off of his chest so that he could get up.

Ruby grasped her hands like she was trying to grab something when Shallot grabbed a long pillow and put it closer to Ruby who wrapped herself around it like a Koala Bear.

Shallot got up from the bed and stretched while feeling his stomach rumble a little. He started to walk toward the washroom so he could take a quick shower so that he could head down to the cafeteria.

When Shallot headed into the washroom Neo was inside taking a shower and Shallot went in to help her "shower" while also getting himself clean.

After "showering" Shallot was walking through the hallway and when he saw that Emerald seemed to be looking around for someone.

"Oh, if it isn't green." Shallot said making Emerald turn seeing that it was Shallot.

"Hello Shallot. What are you doing up this early in the morning?" Emerald asked.

"What are you doing here since your team should be in another building." Shallot asked probably already knowing the answer.

"I'm looking for my teammate who came this way about an hour ago but I couldn't find her. Our shower was being used and she left to use another one and headed this way." Emerald said wanting to not be talking to him.

Shallot was thinking about his "showering" with Neo and then gave a smile to Emerald.

"I saw Neo head to the public showers to use them." Shallot said while continuing his walk.

When he got to the cafeteria he was ready to go to the line to get something to eat. When he was about to look at the lunch lady when he noticed that instead of the silver hair he was used to seeing it was hot yellow instead.

Shallot turned to look up and saw that it was Yang.

"What are you doing serving food Yang?" Shallot asked since he was sure that the elderly lady wouldn't let someone use her kitchen.

She was a stubborn lady that constantly yelled at Shallot for nearly cleaning out the entire kitchen last time when he was hungry from training.

"I convinced Ms. Cook to let me use the kitchen so that I can make some food for my boyfriend. She then went into talking about how she used to do the same thing for her boyfriend who became her husband later on." Yang started talking while grabbing two separate plates and filling them with one food each.

One plate was filled with fried rice, while the second one was filling with sweat and sour pork. She grabbed a large bowl while filling it with Xihongshi Jidan Mian which consists of tomato and egg dishes with noodles.

"Yang?" Shallot asked.

"Yes?" Yang replied since she was pretty proud about how this came out.

"Let's go on our date today. I said that when we get back from our mission we would go on a date today just the two of us." Shallot said while he picked two of the plates up and started to carry them to a table.

He came back for the bowl and brought it over to the table. It wasn't a lot of people inside the cafeteria at this time of the morning since most were getting their rest since the tournament was going to be starting in another 3 days.

Yang had a smile on her face finally getting her date and wanted to know what it was going to be.

"I'm ready for the date but should I wear anything specific?" Yang asked.

"Something that would let you move and fight in freely." Shallot said while thinking about where he was going to take her for the date.

Yang nodded her head before going into the back of the kitchen to tell Ms. Cook that she had given the food to her boyfriend and headed to the table to eat with him.

They sat down eating while Shallot was getting his fill so that he would have his energy until brunch time. Then he can have Lunch, Linner, and finally finishing off with Diner.

After eating their food Yang went back to the room so she can wear something easier to move in since she had on cooking clothes right now. After she headed back Shallot was thinking that today would be the perfect time to help Yang get better at flying.

Shallot waited for Yang to be ready while checking his scroll and looking through the information that was organized by Friday and Da Vinci. He was thinking about the perfect thing for what would be a nice spot for his date.

Shallot thought about it and thought that going out to enjoy the festivities and then letting her beat up some people would put a smile on her face.

After an hour Yang was ready wearing what looked like a yellow biker outfit. It was green military booty shorts and a sports crop top. She had a brown jacket on top halfway zipped up.

Shallot was looking at Yang liking the outfit that she had on nodding at it.

"You look really good in that. Let's be on our way for our date. The first part is getting you used to flying since we have to travel some distance for this trip and we won't be back until tomorrow morning." Shallot said while wrapping his arm around her waist.

Yang smiled hearing that while wanting to also learn how to fly since Ruby was hovering most of the time saying she could do it while Yang couldn't. Yang wanted to be able to fly just so that Ruby wouldn't keep teasing her.

Shallot then gave the same explanation to Yang that she gave to Ruby, Blake, and Velvet. She took only 10 minutes so that she could spread the ki around her body fully.

"Let's head outside first so you don't fly into the hallway walls." Shallot said while started to walk toward the exit with Yang.

They walked to the outside courtyard of the school where Yang spent some time trying to cover herself and lift as Shallot said. Yang spent 30 minutes.

She was floating unsteadily in the air while slowly moving before getting the hang of it. She started moving faster before shooting into the air. She flew high into the air before looking down thinking about how she is supposed to fly down.

While she was up in the air she saw a flock of birds flying towards her. The flock flew toward her which she started moving her hands to block the birds that were flying toward her face.

Yang lost her concentration and started falling and seeing that the ground was getting closer.

She started panicking thinking that she didn't want to crash into the ground after learning how to fly as that would be embarrassing. She tried regaining her "standing". She tried using her ki to right herself so that she could slow herself. She tried pushing up and adjusting herself while reducing her speed.

She was flailing through the air and started spiraling before she felt that she was being grabbed by Shallot.

"I forgot to teach you how to orientate yourself while flying. Without orienting yourself while flying it'll be difficult to change direction while flying." Shallot said while he right her direction so she could start flying again.
