"Well, I'm not using a shield... That was only a mirage you saw to nullify your attack against me. Other than that, I do not have any skills relating to Galahad. If you had been in your normal form, I have no doubt you would finish me off much earlier," I replied.
I wasn't lying either... The moment she appeared on my screen, Vania was able to do a full-scan analysis on the Black Knight. That scan includes discerning Mordred's stats compared to mine and what she would be if she were in her original form.
If she had been alive without being blackened or altered, Mordred would've beaten me into a pulp before I could've moved from the starting point. The Black Knight's Elemental Power was now more than her usual self, but her defense was feeble.
When we clashed, I could tell she was using her attacking power as a defense to negate my strength as much as possible. The Black Knight would never be as strong as Mavislin or the rest of the Founders, but she was almost the same as Rina.
The Black Knight stopped her movements and slumped back to the wall before erupting with laughter.
"So long as the heart does not falter, the impenetrable fortress of Camelot will never fall as it was made out of the center of the table the Round Table Of Knights used to gather. It bears the power of all of us when used correctly. You could've drawn a hostile weapon if you were strong enough."
"Hang on, what was that last claim?" I asked, confused at the Black Knight's words.
"It may be a mirage, but if you've got more strength and knowledge in you, you would realize that the shield you fused with your sword is the material used to make our Round Table. In turn, you should be able to summon all our weaponry."
"It's only a matter of whether you've got enough Elemental Energy to do so. If unlocked, you might even summon the power of Excalibur to your hands. But you were smart enough to use it as Galahad's main power of being Knight of the Shield."
"A mirage was enough to bring forth the tears and anger within this fake body. I've got only a few Ticks with you but listen closely. I will grant you a little wish because you've given me the chance to see the walls again and provided me with so much fun."
"I've been stalking your group for some time now, and I didn't want to pounce because I'm not dumb enough to take everyone on simultaneously. But I wasn't the one who alerted the storm's defensive measures. So instead, it was Fabian Brookes."
"I saw Rho Aias, and I was impressed that someone could harness the strength of Ajax from the Trojan War. And you were right about the Beast being a Husk. It's one of the Corrupted One's Reanimation Skill creations. This makes your foe in Teuton weaker than normal."
"If we meet again, I hope we can fight to our hearts' content. Fabian is calling me back now, so I can't stay any longer. Besides, I need to report back as well. So if you win the next time we meet, I will grant you a wish again," said Mordred, cracking a devious smile.
"What are you supposed to be? The Holy Grail?" I asked, poking fun at how the Black Knight mentioned granting wishes.
"Hmph, that may be a joke for you, but the journey's end for Fabian Brookes' search to become immortal. The Grail might grant him. However, for now, his motives are different as he needs a feather of a Valkyrie to unlock the road to the Forked Kingdom of Youth."
"What does that mean? What is the Forked Kingdom? Oi!" I yelled, unable to make sense of what she was saying.
But as I reached out to the Black Knight, Tomoe quickly grabbed my collar as a tidal wave rushed in front of us, engulfing the Black Knight and taking her away. The area shook violently as we heard the roar of our actual enemy for the day, the Beast of the Storms, Guardian of the Seas...
I knew it was heading this way, but I wanted to see if the Black Knight had anything to do with the summoning of the storm's Beast. And I had a sinking feeling that FB might have caught us before we even had the chance to see him in person.
Things will get rough soon after the Five Ducklings have been activated. Tomoe transformed into his fox form, and I hopped on without a moment's hesitation.
"What was that all about? Why was the Black Knight acting strangely after seeing your spell?" asked Tomoe.
