"Stay here. I'll go get the kids for lunch," commanded Raiyen, as he turned his back.
I was shocked as he instantly vanished. He had blue sparks dancing around his body when he disappeared. Sure, the novel did mention this skill called Glitch but to see it in action was quite cool to watch.
"Notice. Raiyen Phoenix E Harmony possesses a skill called 'Glitch'. It is similar to teleporting but he uses the prediction of Lightning to move about. Meaning to say, the spots that he Glitches to would be where lightning would strike," explained the voice.
Ah, so it seems that the skill would have some limitations. Nevertheless, it was quite a skill to have. I wonder if there's a way to get it...
"Notice. The chances of acquiring said skill would be 0.9%. Within my database, he is the only one left alive to have such a skill. The rest have been wiped from the census."
Whoa, what?! Is this skill only exclusive to Time Mages? And what do you mean by wiping off the census?! That's horrifying to hear! What happened to the rest?!
"Negative. It is a skill that has been cultivated by long-term users of the Element of Lightning or Electric. It would take at least two hundred years."
I sighed, looks like I need to find some other skills. My head turned sharply when the small door opened again. Out came a flying Valkyrie, trudging along with a huge pot of soup. How that thing fit went through the small doorway, I will never know.
What I do know is that the soup is going to be a banger, since my nose was hit with a wave of soupy heaven.
"Thanks!" yelled Mavislin, placing the pot onto the table situated right at the end of the room.
"No problem! If you need anything else, I'll be here making more food. Main lunch is already at the Old Chapel, so you can head there after getting some soup," said Clement, retreating into his cubby hole.
He reminded me of a very angry hobbit. After Mavislin gave me a portion to try, I am convinced that the only reason why he was around was that he knew how to cook good food. The soup was amazing, it was reminiscent of home.
The voice mentioned that he was a normal human, with no Magecraft or skills. Other than having a white outline, this person was nothing special. As I downed the rest, I was taken aback to see the whole hall filled to the brim with hungry children.
I quickly place my bowl onto the table and rushed to help Mavislin and Raiyen in giving out the soup to the kids. One garlic bread and one bowl of soup. After a while, I noticed that each bowl was different. Both in terms of size and design.
"These bowls were handmade by us to fit the need of the children. Seeing that they'll never grow, we won't need to make bigger ones," explained Mavislin, giving the last of the soup.
"Shall we head back for our lunch? I'm afraid that Bryan would engulf everything before we can even touch the table," asked Raiyen, glitching towards us.
Mavislin nodded and waved goodbye to the children. We headed out of the building and proceeded back to the portal. We stepped out and Mavislin turned to face me.
"Well, Raiyen and I are heading back to our home. You can go back to your adventure if you'd like. The soup should have recovered your Elemental Energy, so you don't have to follow us anymore," said Mavislin.
She then widened her eyes and rushed over to me. Grabbing my hands, she allowed her wings to bloom and she plucked out a feather. She then placed it into my palms.
"What's that?" I asked, gingerly stroking it.
"It's my feather! It is the toughest thing a Valkyrie has and I'm giving you one. If you head to a village near here, show them the feather and they'll understand your situation. See you next time!" said Mavislin, taking to the skies.
"See ya around. We might meet again. As a friend or foe, I do not know. But if you do happen to see a being with a pale face, long white hair, fox ears, and tail, try not to talk to him. He's nothing but trouble. And if you see me again, let's have a proper duel," waved Raiyen.
Before I could say anything else, the Valkyrie vanished and so did the Time Mage. This left me all alone, confused about what I should do now. I looked at the feather and popouts danced around my vision. It mentioned if I wanted to leave it alone or fuse it with my weapon.
