Reborn as Mordred in the Multiverse

~BANG BANG BANG~ 

Gunshots ring through the abandoned subway tunnel.

"You guys just don't know when to give up" A tired voice says.

The owner of the voice is a slender gal wearing full tactical gear, some of it makeshift as if it were made in a scrapyard. She runs at full sprint down a tunnel until she sees an open steel hatch door. She runs inside, slams the metal door shut and turns the hatch to lock it. Immediately loud bangs can be heard on the other side of the door.

"Huff, Huff, Huff, finally a break"

But lady fortune isn't on her side today. A figure jumps from the shadows and tackles the girl to the ground. A massive mutated dog looks down on its prey and goes for the kill. It chomps down on her helmet.

"GET OFF OF ME!!!". She screams out.

She undoes her helmet with lightning speed and manages to push the beast off of her and rolls to the side. Her blonde hair covered in dirt is freed, she has her hair in a low ponytail that goes passed her shoulders. The beast crushes down the helmet before spitting it out and looks at the girl with hunger in its eyes. Then it charges at her with full speed.

~BANG BANG BANG~

The beast trips and flies past the girl and rams into the wall. The beast is now on the ground struggling to move its body. The girl walks up with a pistol in hand and puts one more bullet in its head.

~BANG~

The girl grabs her rifle and sits against the wall, slowly catching her breath.

"This day can't get anymore worse". 

Loud stomps and growling begin to heard from the shadows..

"I stand corrected".

A pack of mutated beasts emerge from the shadows. 

The girl gets on her feet and does a quick reload of her rifle. Tension fills the air as neither side makes a move, but this doesn't last long as one beast begins charging signaling the others to follow. For a minute gunshots echo through the tunnel, when the gunshots stop loud screaming like a battlecry can be heard. After the 5 minutes the girl stands victorious over the beasts who are riddled with bullets and some having been stabbed by a blade. The girl takes a step, then another, then collapses from exhaustion and the fatal wounds she received. 

'What a fucked up life'. Is her last thought before she dies.

The girl's once lifeless body takes a deep breath. 

"Cough, cough, cough" the girl begins coughing as she tries to stand up.

[Request: Please rest for a moment]

The girl darts up grabbing her knife which was stuck in a nearby beast's neck. She gets into a combat stance and begins looking around for the owner of the voice.

[Report: You will not find me as I don't have a physical body]

The girl still wary continues to hold her blade up.

"Who are you?".

[Report: I don't have a name, I am a growth system looking for a host, and that host is now you]

"What are you talking abo-". The girls speech is cut off as a blue holographic panel appears before her.

"WHAT".

[Report: I have been designed to help grow the strength of my host using various means and aiding them]

"So your like one of those systems seen in anime and novels?".

[Report: Affirmative]

"YEEESSSS, FINALLY!"

"HAHA my luck is finally turning around for once".

"All my years of suffering are now over, Fuck you universe for bringing me to this shitty world!".

~5 Years Ago~

"Yawn".

"Ah my back is killing me"

'Huh? This isn't my voice'

I rub my eyes and take a look around me.

'This isn't my room, this place is run down and creepy'.

'Have I been kidnapped?!'.

'What do I do? Should I run for it?'.

After thinking about it I made a sprint right to the door, to try my stupid escape plan that wasn't really a plan, from the corner of my eye something caught my attention, a cracked mirror that displayed a beautiful girl with long golden blonde hair and emerald eyes. Her face had sharp features and she looked to be around her late teens.

I walk up to the mirror and reach my hand out.

"I-is this me?".

I grab a strand of my new blonde hair and stare and it.

"Is this real".

I slap my face to confirm if this is a dream, but judging by the immense pain I felt I guess this is real.

"Damn since when did I have this much strength it was supposed to be a light slap?".

Getting back on track I continue to admire my new appearance. 

"I look just like Mordred from the FATE Series, but whats up with these dirty and loose clothing, just why am I wearing this?".

I am wearing a stained brown long sleeve shirt and brown pants, both are very loose and just barely hang on my body.

"Hmm, quick test".

I begin to undress myself starting with my shirt and reveal my incredibly flat chest, I then pull down the pants and reveal a pair of blue panties.

"Its gone and I'm a woman now?".

I fall to my knees and begin hitting the ground.

"Dammit its gone and I didn't get the chance to use, and whats worse is that this body has no breasts whatsoever, just a flat board, at least give me a pair of massive breasts for taking away my rod!!".

After wailing in grief for a few minutes I get up and put my clothes back on, thankfully there was a belt on the dresser next to the mirror so I put that on so my pants don't fall. I take another good look at the room I'm in. I begin walking towards the only window in the room and push aside the curtains, and what was revealed to me shook me to my core. A broken cityscape that looks to be a warzone in the past and has now been slowly claimed by mother nature. 

"WHAT THE HELL, WHERE AM I?!".

I close the curtain and take a few steps back, I begin to think of what I was doing that brought me here. I was out shopping for some groceries and was returning home, then everything went dark and that was all I could remember.

'Did I die?'.

I really wanted to doubt it but you don't just blackout and wake up as a girl in a world that looked like it just experienced the apocalypse. I sit on the bed and let out a sigh.

'Well I didn't have much attachment to my previous life since I was an orphan and living alone was pretty hard, BUT I don't want to live my new life here, why couldn't I have been reborn in a cool fantasy world with magic like in the anime'. Some tears begin to fall down my cheek.

'Wait a moment if I have been reborn then'.

"STATUS!".

"SYSTEM".

"Dammit".

After my failed experiment I sat back on the bed and began thinking about my new situation while crying every now and then for about an hour or two. Once I regained some composure I noticed the table in the room littered with items and I began to walk over. There was a variety of items, a backpack, canned foods, water bottles, medical supplies, some electronic scraps, and lastly a pistol with three magazines to the side of it as well as some cardboard ammo boxes. I take the gun in my hands and admire it for a bit.

'Looks like a glock but slightly different, the grip feels good in my hands and it's lighter than I expected'. 

'I hope I won't have to use it'.

Thus began my new daily life. For the next few days I stayed inside eating the canned food stored trying to ration out the food and water. I would carefully observe the outside from my window but nothing eventful ever happened. The only time I would leave my room would be to use the toilet, since plumbing doesn't work I had to do my business outside which was a very embarrassing and scary experience. As the food and water began to dwindle I knew I couldn't stay inside forever, so I decided to play it safe first and explore the building I reside in.

I rolled up my sleeves and tucked in my shirt, I tightened the belt and put on my socks and boots. I grabbed my backpack and tied the pistol holster to my right leg then holstered the pistol. I stuff the extra magazines in my pants pockets, then step towards the door, I take in a deep breath then begin my little expedition.
