Is this how a world should be

I remember how the world was before everything change in 2377, when the merging began and how I, a soul from other earth end up in a world similar yet different to my own. This new reality is completely different to the earth as we know it becouse here everything is decide by the duel mechanics. This duel is similar to the yu-gi-oh that I saw and play as a kid but instead of fixed spots for the cards, and the use of sacrifices to summon more powerful ones, here the people use a special energy, different countrys call it differently, in England magic, in Asia tend to be chi, etc. But like in Yugi, it is turn based and startegy is the main corcern for the player and exactly for this the goverments take an intense care for the most important duelist for each country, but this does not mean that there aren't , what we call free agents, duelist that work for benefits or cards. There are also special web sites where people can try they're decks without the fear of losing prestige. But there is a profession called card makers. No one know when they first appear but what once was a normal game soon turned into a full blown combat between nations for the control of these talents, and you'll surely ask why, the answer to this is very simple, cardmakers are capable of infusing the energy previously mention in the cards making it possible to scale things up.

History says that after the Great War the cardmakers retreat from the public appearing only from time to time to introduce new cards to the game, but all knew the true horrors of this people. Not all decide to retreat from the public eye other rejoiced in being the most important people for nations making clans or great families that have last till today, with some even claiming the title of legends, the most obvious is the Pendragon family from England or the Caesar line from Italy. This aside the world has a ranking where each nations has a position for the placement of resources.

The ranking is based in the victories and defeats of each country as well as the rules that make sure that the countries don't go loose. This ranking and rule were create by the first guild of the world with the top 20 duelist of the time to install order and control over the duelist and cards. This guild also established academy's for the future duelist of the world. This guild was named the Rising Dragon and nowdays 80% of the duelist of the world are register with them. The guild does not get involved in the internal thing of a country or it's duelist, it simply oversee things making sure that cards aren't used for evil purpose.

About 60% of the population can make used of cards thanks to possesing that strange energy but only about 20% can be called duelist thanks to they're views and used of strategy, the special cards or decks pass down in the family or the investment of the guild or country in talent to boost the status.

But now let's rewind a bit. Hi my name here is Victor currently a final year student in the Duelist University of Viena thanks to the Dragon Scholarship, a programm funded by the Rising Dragon Guild given to talented duelist with low income, people who get this scholarship is expect to finish a duelist university in a single try and once complete they receveid a sum of money to create their own decks, this is becouse in the university no one can use cards outside the deck given at the start of the first year but you can exchange points for new cards inside the faculty. My first deck was an Athens one, with Pericles as it's leader, in the university the deck must not have more than 20 cards making the students prioritize strategy over brute force in most cases.

"Hey Victor you coming or not" That is Frederich or Fede my roommate for the last year and also my classmate.

"Yeah, yeah, coming" All this rush is becouse today is the Gaia tournament, more specifically the semifinals and final. Honestly this year wasn't a surprise either, only one competitor stands out becouse this country wasn't know for having good or strong duelist, so I suppose that after the tournament a lot of guilds with try and contract him. The four country in still in the tournament where Russia, EE.UU, Germany and as I said before the stand out, Laos.

"Victor you've missed the presentations, well doesn't matter. To the left the representative of Laos, Daeng a redhead guy with it's powerfull Japanese deck with Oda Nobunaga as the leader deck, and to the right the representative of EE.UU, James an afroamerican with it's own american deck with Abraham Lincoln as his leader deck. Who are you betting on Victor, you still haven't missed a single guess in the whole tournament"

"Laos will win this time, the score will be 2-1 for him"

"Really, I think that the Union deck will win for sure" To this chim another of our roommates, Collins. "You only say that becouse you also use a modern era deck, and still can't win against Victor"

"Thats bullshit. I can't win againts Victor becouse of his mind not the deck, for this you only need to lood at Jas"

Jas or Jasmine is an exchange student from Egypt that came this year and used a deck of Ancient Egypt, currently rank 7 in the public board she still could not win against Fede for the sixth position in the board. Our conversation end when the duel finally began with Daeng making the first turn.

"Daeng kicks things off strong! He plays the Field Spell—Sengoku Battlefield! Now, all Samurai warriors gain +300 ATK. That's going to give him an early advantage!

After which he Normal Summon – Ashigaru Spearman (1700 ATK → 2000 ATK with Field Spell)!Finally setting two cards face-down! Could be traps… could be setup!

Daeng ends his turn with a strong board presence!

James needs a strong start if he wants to survive the Sengoku onslaught! He draws… and here we go! First he Normal Summon – Union Soldier (1800 ATK)! After which activates Spell – Industrial Boom! A smart move! James gets to draw two extra cards, setting up his strategy for later!"

⚔ Battle Phase – Union Soldier attacks Ashigaru Spearman but wait a minute! Daeng flips a trap—Shield Wall! That gives all Samurai cards +500 DEF! That means Ashigaru Spearman's defense rises to 2000, stopping the attack and forcing James to end his turn without dealing any damage.

Daeng wastes no time! He draws and immediately goes on the offensive! First he Normal Summon – Matchlock Musketeer (1500 ATK → 1800 ATK with Field Spell)! and activate the Trap – Blitz of the Matchlocks. Oh, this is bad news for James—Union Soldier is taken out before he even gets to fight back Daeng is taking control of the fight.

⚔ Battle Phase – Direct Attack!

Ashigaru Spearman (2000 ATK) strikes directly, James' LP drops from 4000 → 2000. And Daeng ends his turn with complete board control"

The duel continue for two more hours ending as I had predict with Daeng victorious making Fede voice his dissatisfaction. "How could you get it right once again"

"Give it up Fred no one knows how he does it, I think it will be the biggest mistery of this university"

"Sois de lo que no hay. But remember that this week is the final exam of the year and the most important of all after which the ranking board will be make definitive"

"Yes, I'm so pump up this time I'll dfinitly reach the fifth place for sure"
