I last remember walking to my house...Owwww.

What is this pain? It's so unbearably itchy. I moved my arm only to realise it was wrapped in a cast. Am I injured?

As I skimmed around the room, I recognised the room. It was a hospital room. But why am I in it?

Suddenly, I was slammed with another bout of pain. This time, it made me scream out in pain. As pain coursed through my veins, memories flooded back into my mind. Like a tidal wave, it brought me to tears.

Touji. Touji. TOUJI!!! Why is this name resonating in my head? Who is Touji? Who is To... Wait, I remember now. I am Touji. I....Wait, why am I slumping? What is going on? Why am I...

My vision blackened. However, I could still barely make out some background noises. There was some movement in the room, probably the doctors and nurses. Most notably, someone was clutching my hand.

Wake up! Wake up! Someone is waiting for me. Please. I beg of you. Wake up! However, my prayers went unanswered as I slowly drifted off into a deep sleep.

Yet, my hearing was still functioning. It was as if my mind was awake, yet my body was not.

Touji... My grandson. If you can hear me, I am sorry. I have failed you and your parents.

I made an oath to protect you in your parent's absence. Yet, you are in a hospital bed, trapped in your own body. But don't worry. I will do everything in my power to free you of your constraints.

Then, everything went blank.

Hearing this, I opened my eyes. However, all I could see was the abyss. It was dark. Fear started to creep up my spine.

What kind of sick joke is this? Where am I? Wait, why can I move? Wasn't I in the hospital?

To my shock, my body was fully functional. The cast that bound me was absent. Additionally, there was no pain.

How could this be? Is this a dream? Yet, no one answered my questions. Again, I was alone. But now, in an abyss instead of a hospital room. Suddenly, a bright light shined upon me, illuminating the area. With my vision restored, I surveyed the region.

All I could say was Wow. There are no words to describe the scenery. The dark abyss morphed into a jaw-dropping field, covered with flora and fauna. Yet, it seemed off. Why am I here? How could I be here? It appeared lifeless. No wind brushed past flora and fauna. No life except plants was here. I felt alone, empty yet complete at the same time. Unexpectedly, a feminine voice whispered into my ear.

Welcome to the afterlife, Touji Fuyu.

My mind went blank for a second. Did the voice say afterlife? This must mean I died. But how, I was in a hospital. Wait, did my grandfather kill...me. Why? To free me of my suffering. But. But.

Do not fret Touji Fuyu. You have another chance at life. But not in your world. After all, when you are killed, you stay dead. You cannot be revived even by gods. You have done so much at your age. Yet, fate had other plans. Your growth was only bounded by your mortal body. As the God Of Reincarnation, I will reincarnate you into another world. A world you know very well but not in the same instance. An AU, to be exact. Appreciate your new life.

Throughout this, I was attempting to take in all the information. Until the voice said reincarnation, which perplexed me.
