Scaling the Future!

After getting Feebas my parents gave me a stern talk on the responsibilities I must keep in mind when owning a Pokémon and after half an hour of lecture had Cofo teleport them back to the mansion. Which I understand given that I'm a five yr. old that's about to take care of a creature that can possibly end my life if angered. Now that I think of it, what am I getting myself into?

(Well, that just means I have to make a good impression on my new partner. It's still early in the morning so I had the whole day to do it.)

Communicating with Pokémon is an important part of being a trainer and from what I learned is only possible for those who spent a large margin of their time working with a Pokémon because it seems to be less of a spoken language but more of interpreting the intent or feeling that a Pokémon gives. Even a budding trainer will only get to somehow understand their Pokémon after a week in their journey.

After my parent left the first thing I decide to do is to get to know more about my new friend. Since Feebas most likely gonna be my oldest companion in the future, a good start with it will go a long way .... so yeah I better get started.

"So Feebas once again, I'm Albert Ryuma and I'm gonna be your new trainer!"

"...." '10 sec later'

'Feeb feebas'

"Nice to meet you too, little guy"

"But for now I need you to intr....."

'spshhh'

'Pak!' 'Tail slap'

'plop'

'Feebas feeb feeebas!'

As I was about to ask Feebas about itself when it suddenly jump out of the water and gave me a slap to the cheek using its tail.

(Well this is not the good start I was hoping for.....)

At first, I was baffled why I was just attacked but then it hit me (an idea, not the Feebas again) it was a She!!! And, oh man she is was quite offended that she just kept on staring at me 'menacingly'.

'Feeeeeeeeeeebaaas' 'Stare'

(It's like she's burrowing into my soul)

"S....sorry girl It's just a verbal slip. Of course, you are a girl its obvious given how beautiful and SHINY your scales are (Really shiny)"

"...."

'Feebas fe'

(Good, looks like I got back on the right track)

It replied as if saying that its Scales are only So-so. It has humility huh or does its ability Oblivious in effect?

On the topic of abilities, I learned from one of the books in the mansion's library that Pokémon typically have 2 abilities with a few exceptions which only have one but unlike in the games Pokémon in this world always have both its primary and secondary ability in its arsenal but there was rarely any mention about a 3rd ability or hidden ability. The only thing concise is, it is known that it is possible for a Pokémon to have an extra 2nd or 3rd ability that is not normally seen on others of its kind and there are only a few Pokémon ever recorded to possess an extra ability.

I have a theory that it must be due to a mutation that happens every so often in a generation or for all I know Pokerus may exist and literally improves a Pokémon overall performance in this world.

"Okay Feebas now that we got that cleared up, let me get to know you better by showing me what you can do"

'Feeebas?'

"Like moves, talents, and other stuff, for instance, can you do a backflip?"

'Feebas! Feeb feebas'

"Prove it"

'....'

'Feebaas'

As I said those words Feebas gave a huff after which she dove down towards the deeper part of the lake then swam very quickly towards the surface and from what I can guess, is that she is about to do a flip.

'Whosssssh' 'water surface breaking'

'feeebaaaaaaaaas' 'flips 3x'

'Plop' 'lands headfirst'

(I never thought I'd see the day a fish do a triple summersault into a perfect pencil dive. Tis truly was magnificent)

"That was incredible! who knew my partner was not only pretty but also talented"

'Feebas fee feeebas'

It answered as if saying 'Nothing much' then swam back to me. Even though it acts humble I can see from its body language that it's proud of what it had just accomplished.

"At least we now know that you're vigorous enough to perform feats of athleticism. but let's see what moves you have for battle"

'Feebaas?'

"Attack moves, how do I explain this... stuff you do to attack or defend yourself from others"

'Feebas!'

"Ohh so you do some, then show it to me"

'feebas!'

With that Feebas once again burst out of the water and tackled me

'Whosssssh' 'water surface breaking'

'Swooosh' 'flight'

'Wham' 'Impact'

"Gah! .. aaaaaaah" 'A child in pain'

It was truly a well-performed tackle and I would know my five yr old body took its blunt force which is made up of a flying 8 kg fish and thus I also went airborne at the impact. Good thing that people in this world are truly built strong if I was a normal 5 yr old from my old world ide be dead.

(Awww, that freaking hurt! My poor underdeveloped sternum. I think I need to be more specific in my commands next time. But Arceus that really hurt, I forgot that Feebas is a speedy fish)

"That's .... quite the tackle you have their girl'

'Feeebas bas Feebas'

"At least you're happy. Next time don't use me as the target, Ok?"

"Feebas feeb feebas"

'Plop' 'throw Feebas back in the water'

Tackle is a mediocre move in comparison to most Pokémon moves but there must be a reason why in the anime trainers spam it like theirs no tomorrow and I just got first-hand experience of it.

(If I remember correctly Feebas learn set in gen 5 are Splash, Tackle, and Flail.)

I know this is not like in the game and Pokémon here can learn moves outside their learn set so I was really hoping for something aside from the 3 mentioned. But it is unlikely unless Feebas was already trained before to learn new moves.

"So what other move do you have in your arsenal?"

'Feebas!'

(Ohh my little fishy is looking confident, must be the move She's most proficient with which I hope is not what I think it ...)

'Splash'

'Splash'

'Splash'

(Aaaand it's Splash. I had a hunch but my fault for getting my hopes up knowing splash is the first thing its line learns)

"Ok, stop. Anything else?"

'Feebas feeb,.... Feebas!'

"Ohh, you have one more?"

(If the current lineup tells me anything that's up next must be Flail)

But contrary to what I thought. Feebas started to just stare into the expanse of the lake, dazed in a stupor while concentrating on something. Suddenly Feebas closed its eyes and opened its mouth, in that moment flames of green and purple started to form.

"What the ...."

'Feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee'

After a while, the fire became large enough that it started to escape Feebas mouth. It was clear that what comes next must be the release of that concentrated energy and what a spectacle must it be.

'Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas'

As if knowing that everything is in place Feebas released the concentration of fire towards the center of the lake. But contrary to my belief only a stream of tiny embers of green and purple fire shot out that did not even go farther than a meter from the source before dissipating into nothing.

(What was that? ember? flamethrower? no Feebas can't learn those..... then it's got to be dragon breath!, the colors matched with what I remember of what dragon breath should be like but how does Feebas know dragon breath?)

I started contemplating how my little fish came to learn such a move without being trained. Then I remembered one key detail from the series, Egg moves. Attacks that are passed down from the parent Pokémon but considering that its mother must be a Milotic and they can't learn dragon breath normally then it must come from the dad! The most likely candidate in my mind is the Kingdra line because Milotic if I remember correctly dwells in the bottom of large lakes and rarely ever surfaces which makes it unlikely to meet and breed with any other Pokémon that can learn the move.

(hmm so in short, if they want to breed with the most beautiful Pokémon they first need to fit the criteria of being able to go deep, Giggity.)

' Feebaaaaaas!!!'

As if proud of its accomplishment it turned to me seemingly wanting to hear my opinion about her performance. Well no matter how weak the released attack was, it can be considered a good foundation and can be improved upon in the future.

"That was amazing, girl. The possibility of you having such a powerful move did not even cross my mind, I must look like a fool for underestimating you huh."

'Feebas feebas fee'

While filled with glee it still acted like what it did was nothing and was to be expected with someone of her stature. I'm starting to think my Feebas must be either modest or bashful in nature which I think the former has the higher possibility because Feebas from what I can see likes to show off but not brag. Modest nature is also one of the best nature for a Milotic but not so much on Feebas because it raises Spe. Attack but lowers Attack and Feebas is currently more of a get close hit hard unless I manage to help it master dragon breath and other range attacks which I surely will.

(Does Pokémon nature even have an effect in this world? well does not matter as any Pokémon can be strong as long as it is effectively trained.)

If Pikachu in the anime can take down a Tyranitar then I don't see why my draconic-fire breathing fish after being trained can't do the same with a Dragonite. I know that's a far cry from ever happening but who knows, anything can happen with the right circumstance.

After a few more hours of getting to know more about Feebas, I was called for lunch by Joseph who was teleported by Cofo to my location. It was then I realized that I spent a large portion of the morning beside the lake getting to know Feebas which led to us skipping breakfast.

"Hey Feebas, I'll return you to your ball for a bit while I get us some food, or do you prefer to stay in the lake?"

'Feebas' 'looks toward the lake'

"Lake it is then, I'll be back with your food after a bit so just explore around the area in the meantime as it will serve as your base of operation for the foreseeable future"

I was not really worried about leaving Feebas behind because the lake is home to only domesticated Magikarps which from what Joseph has told me pose no danger to anyone due to their low mental capacity and close to abysmal chance to ever evolve in the future. To be honest I'm more worried about the Magikarps.

As my mother, Drasna is a professional Pokémon trainer who specializes in particularly dragon types we have a large storage house behind the mansion filled with a variety of Pokémon food and rare ingredients that some like rare berries needed to be imported from different regions.

Having a readily available supply of ingredients really helps me a lot with my plans for Feebas. As I know if I want to evolve her in the future which I surely do, I need to either max out her beauty which is a spotty method at best or find a prism scale which I remember is a legit evolution trigger for its species.

A prism scale is something that occasionally forms in a Feebas which means I can just wait for my dear Feebas to shed one or two of the stuff but if all else fails I can just ask for one from my parents but I doubt they will know what it's for because even the characters in the games and anime do not know of its usage or even have a specified name for it. So as not to be obvious on my goal, I'll just say that I'm collecting different types of Pokémon scales and specifically add other items such as a dragon scale, deep-sea scale, and any other scale I don't know about along with it.

(Makes me wonder though if a prism scale that is shed by a shiny Feebas is also shiny? just a bit of food for the thought)

Two things I trust that I know about my current family are first they like dragons and lastly, they have very deep pockets of which I don't even know the bottom of.

Even though I can't be sure that maxing Feebas beauty in this world can make it evolve, I'm still willing to give it a go just to be sure. But one main problem I have with that process is how can an abstract thing like Beauty be even quantified? As a phrase from my old world 'Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder so everyone has a different take on something's beauty.

In the games, beauty is one of 5 conditions that can be raised using nutritious snacks such as Pokeblocks and Poffins. While I was researching about Pokémon food in the past month I took the time to look into both Pokeblocks and Poffins but my search was a dead end on Pokeblocks due to there is literally no information about it, best bet was that it's not been invented yet along with the berry blender.

However I was able to get a lot on Poffins, my father Alden even has a business partner in Sinnoh selling the stuff. The recipe itself was fairly simple but I would still need to ask my father to get me a mold used to make the Poffins because I decided on making my own in the future.

(I'm not really in any hurry to evolve my Feebas, on that note I don't really plan to evolve it until I get it to a level close to the one shown in an episode in the diamond and pearl season of the anime.)

Even though I've studied a lot about Pokémon food I still only know a little bit about the specifics of pure aquatic ones unlike Pokémon such as a Squirtle who can survive in both land and water. So I just took some of the highest quality Pokémon food for water types we have that my mother uses to feed her Gyarados which is said to promote overall growth and increase scale hardness. I also plan to add in a few slices of pickled Wiki and Apicot berry which from what I remember in the games are very rare berries that highly increase the beauty of a Pokémon.

(It must not be so rare in this world because we have a whole room filled with the stuff. Like a whole room for each kind of berry which was quite excessive in my opinion but considering the appetite of my mom's Pokémon which includes a Noivern, Dragalge, Druddigon, Altaria, Gyarados, and Goodra it made a lot of sense. From what I hear she has even more Pokémon staying in her hometown.)

I took a large quantity of food and asked Cofo to teleport it all in the penthouse storage area so I won't need to go back to the back of the mansion every time. I'm planning to spend most of my time in the lake anyways which is where I will be training Feebas, it's not like I have a choice in the matter until Feebas evolves.

I called Feebas who I saw was chilling near the docks surrounded by aquatic plants with her usual dazed expression.

"Hey Feebas time to eat!"

'Feebas!'

As soon as she heard me, she swam in my direction.

"You must be really hungry huh, no worry I have top quality grub right here"

As I was about to give the bowl of Pokémon food I realized that I don't know how to feed an aquatic Pokémon.

(Do I just dump it all in the water? or let the bowl with food sink and allow Feebas to return the bowl after she's done?)

At that moment I thought, why not feed it like a regular pet fish from my old world? drop it bit by bit.

(I really need to stop overthinking things)

As such, I started to throw the Pokémon food a little bit at a time and I noticed Feebas seems to really like the stuff but has an incentive to go for the closes sliced berries first before eating any of the pre-made Pokémon food.

After Feebas finished her meal I decided to bust out the training plan I have been putting together since I was a toddler. Even though it was designed for a terrestrial Pokémon the main objective still remains the same but I needed to tweak some stuff to make it work.

"Okay Feebas remember what I told you earlier? That I'm gonna make you the strongest Feebas in the world! But to do that we will need to train very hard"

'Feebas?'

"Yes we, I'm included. As in the future, I plan for us to travel around a lot, I need to be strong enough to last in long journeys through changing weather and terrain. A well-built body will help me achieve that."

As I was about to start explaining the training that we will be doing Feebas as if wanting to start right away, started jumping up and down to show her excitement in the prospect of getting stronger.

"Relax, you got to save your energy as we will start our training tomorrow so you can use the time remaining today to get used to your new surroundings but for now listen to what's in store ok?"

'Feebas, feeb feebas'

"Good, first we will be doing laps around the lake for an hour each morning"

'Feebas'

"Food? don't worry, after the jog or swim for you we will have breakfast and then an hour-long break before going to some tail exercises and tackle practice for a few hours right after. The slap you gave me earlier gave me an idea on both an offensive and defensive form of maneuver using your tail"

The maneuver mainly involves Feebas slapping away opponents who get too close or slapping projective attacks such as energy ball and aura sphere back to the attacker. It's a bit of a stretch expecting a Feebas to perform such stunts but it's worth trying though and it acts as a good foundation for learning Iron tail when Feebas evolves into Milotic. There's a good reason why Ash's Pikachu spam it more than even the steel types shown in the anime, it's just such an effective move to use in battle.

'Feebas?'

"I'll explain it later, where was I ... yeah after body exercises we will have lunch and another hour of rest then it's off to practice your Special attacks"

'Feebas?'

"Its attacks which you shoot out like the dragon breath you showed me earlier"

'Feebas!'

"You like that one huh, no worry we will take our time with it and when you master it we will try to move on to dragon pulse which is a stronger version of it"

'feebas fee?'

"Forget Splash"

'Feebas'

"You don't want to? But why? it's completely useless!"

'Feebas feebas'

"So it's a fun pastime huh. hmm, then we will see what we can do with it maybe we can use it as a method of creating waves to ride on as a start for your training on learning the move surf or something"

The plan I currently have on Feebas moves is to try and get her to master what she currently has and slowly transition to the stronger version of the move while trying to learn new moves along the way. The moves I like for her to learn later on after dragon breath is mainly surf for stab and mastery over water energy to better transition into water pulse which will help Feebas in learning another similar attack Dragon pulse which I think is the same in execution except for the type of energy used in the formation of the attack.

"We have a lot to do tomorrow so better be well-rested, you know what there's a move you can start learning now that can help us with that"

'Feebas fee?'

"It's a pretty simple move you just need to learn how to fall asleep at a command, It's called Rest. Wanna give it a try?"

'Feebas!'

"Okay then, Feebas use Rest"

'FeebaassssszzzZZZzzzZZZ' 'Slowly sinks'

'Blop' 'Bubbles'

'Blop'

'Blop'

"....."

And just like that Feebas went to sleep, I don't think it's the move rest because when Feebas woke up a few hours later she was a bit hazy while swimming around the lake and not like the refreshed result a Pokémon get after using the move. however, it was a good start ..... a little too good.

Alden POV.

(1 week later)

It's been a week after I gave my son Albert the physical manifestation of the word ugly and saying the result was not what I expected is the understatement of the century. When I gave him the Feebas I thought of the possibility of him denying it but I know my son is more than that. Even if he hated it he will at least try to make it work for a few days before realizing how hopeless it is and eventually give up on it before the week ends.

And take it he did but what surprised me is his reaction upon doing so because it was not anger, hate, or disgust but truly heartfelt happiness. He actually liked the darn thing, no he loved it. Even making an oath to make it the strongest and most beautiful of its kind. Making that Feebas the strongest of its kind I say it can be possible with hard work but the most beautiful? No! no hope, better chance of making a Tepig fly than ever achieving such a feat of sheer impossibility. And it's no exaggeration, they say even the ugliest man has a face a mother could love but that Feebas? Joseph told me even its whole family shunned it away.

Then I thought my son must be in denial and will eventually come to his senses but against all my expectations he stayed with the fish. Training every morning and afternoon, and taking a day's worth of rest every 2 days of training.

Also the food, The food!

Starting trainers usually only feed their Pokémon the general all-around stuff bought from the Pokemart or the occasional Oran berry and only starts to pay heed to specializing in it after becoming an Ace or Elite level trainer because every bit of advantage in their skill cap makes a world of difference in the battle.

But instead of taking the normal water-type food or heck even just the high-quality all-rounder ones we have in stock, My son took half of the peak quality Pokémon food my wife used to feed her Elite level Gyarados.

Even though my wife Drasna has several top-of-of-line Pokémon food recipes she got from her clan it is all for dragon types so she had to custom order one for her Gyarados from our company which gathered the top minds in the line of Pokémon breeding and dietary research to make the best Pokémon food for water types which took 4 yrs. to develop and was only finished 2 yrs. ago with a total cost of 100 million Pokedollar in research alone.

It was a great breakthrough in Pokémon food as a whole being able to provide an overall increase in a water Pokémon performance and also strengthen the scales of the Pokémon who ate it, leading to Drasna also mixing it into the diet of her other Pokémon.

However due to the very high cost of production, it's not a good business venture so I made it a private stock only available to our family but I fear if the researchers discover that a Feebas is the one eating the result of their years of hard work which even their Pokémon won't likely ever get a taste of, they might just storm the research lab and burn it to the ground along with the building.

As if thinking that is not enough my son even took half our stock of Wiki and Apicot berry which are very rare berries especially Apicot which is said to be as rare as a regional starter Pokémon in the wild. Both berries are known to increase the physical appeal of a Pokémon to a very noticeable degree especially Apicot which is a sought-after commodity for both Coordinators and our very own local Performers alike. I have a stock of the stuff for my wife's main team, for an Elite-four level trainer like her, her battles are usually broadcasted all over the world thus having her Pokémon shine not just in power but also in appearance is a must in my opinion.

I was lucky enough to own a small island in Hoenn with a few trees of both wiki and Apicot growing so we can at least have a steady supply every year as before I bought the island, I had a hard time getting the stuff because no matter how much money I have it's useless if there is nothing to buy. It is understandable though when someone finds an Apicot berry they just immediately feed it to their Pokémon and keep the trees' location a secret because selling the stuff will just make some shady groups investigate them and the origin of the berry.

I was happy that my son is finally using our family's resources but sadly it's all for that Feebas. At first, I was also curious about what effect such high-class berries will have on that fish but not to my surprise no utter change happened, none! It was already known by many that Berries in general only improve the qualities that are already present in the Pokémon but for that Feebas? no matter how many times something is multiplied by zero the answer will always be zero.

My goal in giving Albert the Feebas was not for him to hate Pokémon as he already grew up loving them but to avert him from the idea of being a trainer. I thought that giving my son a Pokémon that is impossible to train or even look at will make him change his mind in ever starting his journey as a trainer. Planting a seed of doubt was enough as any more will just bring down my wife's wrath upon me.

After three days of training his Feebas Albert approached me asking about one of my businesses in Sinnoh. I was so glad at that moment thinking that my son finally opened up to the world of economics and turned away from the abomination but once again it was for that Feebas. Albert asks for the best recipes books for making Poffins also a mold for baking Poffins.

Poffins only started to become well known a few years ago when it was discovered to not only increase a berries effect but also allow a person to provide all the nutrition found in berries into a small package without the worry of it rotting.

My wife was all too happy in seeing Albert doing his best to take care of the Feebas although she may not admit it she too has mixed feelings about the fish as she can't even last a few seconds looking at it before turning away.

It does not matter anymore anyway as there is no separating Albert from his new friend and as it's clearly my loss she is currently in front of me giving a smirk very much like the one Cofo use to do.

"Told you he will take care of it, but seriously when I said that what your doing is fishy I never could have guessed you will give him an actual fish Pokémon that .... Feebas? is what it's called right? Where did you even find such a Pokémon? "

"Hoenn, It's from one of Josephs contacts where I'm not sure about the details but it seems to be one of the native Pokémon of the region"

"Hoenn .... been so long since I last visited that region"

"Yeah, I remember that you used to visit the hidden dragon clan in Hoenn along with the sky pillar"

"I had been curious of the ruins they have there as it depicted Rayquaza in a form never seen in any other records. I was not allowed to enter the Tower but I was still able to study the ruins around it."

"I even caught my Altaria Nimbus there in one of my return visits, although it was still a Swablu at the time. As I was resting in my camp it just suddenly landed in my head and used it as a nest, It was so adorable that I just had to catch it."

"On the topic of Alberts journey I will keep my word and support him but as for the topic of him getting a dragon I think its better if you handle it when he turns eight"

"I'm all too happy allowing Albert in the right of passage of our clan but are you sure? don't your family also have one such tradition?"

"We also have such a custom but its different"

"What do you mean?"

"If in Sinnoh you are given a dragon. In our clan, you must find one"

"Wait, don't tell me ...."

"My clan used to chuck their children in the age of 10 into the wilds specifically our family's island reserve for dragon types to find a Pokémon to be their starter."

"That's a bit ...."

"Barbaric? I know that's why it stopped with me. The last person who successfully got a Pokémon there is my oldest brother who was able to befriend a lone Goomy and my other two brothers who were twins eager to prove themselves after my older brother's untimely demise, went in at the same time but sadly never made it out of the island. My father tried to look for them but was not even able to find a clue to their whereabouts thus was presumed dead, most likely eaten by the island's inhabitants."

"I heard about what happened to your older brother it was .... unfortunate"

"No need to sugar coat it, he died in one of the dumbest ways possible to a member of a dragon clan that's why when I reached the age where I was supposed to look for my own Pokémon I explained to my father that if I die the clan dies with me as he and my mother is already too old to bear another child"

"Why not just change it, you're now the head of your clan so what you say goes. doesn't it?"

"I did, why do you think I let you be the one to handle it? I know you and your clan have more experience in the process of giving good Pokémon than me as you might have already seen in my recent track record which is currently that Feebas"

"On another note, I'm surprised you did not get angry at Albert for taking half of your Gyarados food along with half our stock of Apicot which you so dearly love."

"Why would I be angry? We could just always restock on the Pokémon food as money is not a problem and on the matter of the berries, sure it might be rare in the market but we have an island chuck full of them even if we only get to harvest it twice a year but there is still a lot left before we need to resupply. Besides as what I've seen that Feebas only eat as much as a Magikarp and even if you add up everything it eats in a month it can't compare to the tons of food anyone of my team consumes on a weekly basis"

"It eats a Jar of Apicot every day"

"....What?"

"Albert also started on making Poffins for his Feebas and you can already guess the main ingredient"

"...."

"...."

"There should be a law against that even my team only get to eat a jar of Apicot in a week and they had to share!"

"I understand, what our son is doing is a crime against all Pokémon Coordinators and performers alike"

"Let's change the topic I don't think I can fathom what Albert is trying to achieve with that Feebas"

"Ohh, have you collected the stuff Albert asked for?"

"You mean the scales? I had Joseph look into it. I never thought that our son will copy your taste in collecting stuff such as Pokémon by-products but as his mother and a professional trainer, he sees you as a role model"

"Then I need to make myself worthy of such position by beating those old fellas in the league"

"Huh? Wait, your challenge got accepted?!"

"It did, I'm scheduled to battle Elena the Normal-type master of the Elite four for her position by the end of this year"

"Congrats! Then aren't you supposed to be training your team right now?"

"No hurry, My team is always ready for battle as I never missed a training regiment with them. I'll start to increase their training 2 months before the fight but for now, I don't think I need to change anything but theirs one thing that I recently discovered needs changing"

In the midst of our conversation, Drasna suddenly gave me an all-to-familiar look along with a questionable line which I fear may not be a good sign.

".... What?"

"Don't you want to avoid the same problem your parents encountered back then?"

"What proble.... Oohh ....Ohh no"

"About time Albert gets a younger brother or sister. Since it took us close to four years to finally make the first one (Albert), we better get started now if we want Albert to be able to see his younger sibling before he starts his journey"

"Drasna let talk about this, we're in the office a sacred place where work is done!"

"Then you better do your job as the man of the house"

After that are things better left unsaid. I only hope that Albert does not become like her mom in the future or I fear for the well-being of my future daughter-in-law. On the following day, I took a day off due to a strained pelvis.

Alberts POV.

(1 week later)

It's been a week after I started training with Feebas, at the start I have trouble keeping up with our round of laps even though there's a path to follow because Feebas is just jam-packed with vitality where I had just about to finish my 2nd lap Feebas was already at her 7th. As I never had any exercise before, my body is quick to tire but I went on even though I was just walking not wanting my partner to be alone in her training. Lucky for me, people in this world are truly built stronger in all aspects besides intelligence because only on the second day I was already able to go much longer even being able to continue jogging till the hour is done.

The jog became a run and later I even added obstacles to try and get over, under, or dodge. Feebas not wanting to be left out started to use aquatic plants, floating debris, and the port as things similar to an obstacle course which also trains her dodging capabilities. Feebas really enjoyed the morning hustle as she was not only swimming but also jumping out of the water like a dolphin from my old world calling out to me as if to say 'Keep up!'.

The body training for Feebas also went great where I was able to use some of my old toys specifically the rubber baseballs and throw them at Feebas and she will try to hit it back to me. It was a simple exercise but in the future, I will request my father to get me something akin to a tennis ball launcher because as much as appreciate the work out my hand can only throw so fast and it seems Feebas wants a better challenge than a 5 yr. old's lousy throws.

The tackle practice also went swimmingly no puns intended. We used a floating log as a target, sadly the log was already old and did not last long before breaking apart on a well-hit tackle. To improvise we used the tree on the shore where after Feebas tackle the tree I will go pick her up and throw her back in the water. Feebas is really a tenacious Pokémon, even though she rammed her body headfirst into a solid object for hours on end she still looks ready to go to war and maybe hunt Arceus after.

Feebas had some trouble with dragon breath though, she seems to be fine in the process of gathering the draconic flames but when it comes to the release it's always the same as the last time. Only embers that do not even go farther than a meter away from her. After the 4th day, I tried asking my mother about it and it seems we were doing it wrong from the very beginning. As Dragon breath does not need energy to be gathered but it's a continuous release of dragon-type energy towards a target. My mother further explained that what we were doing is more akin to the moves Dragon rage or Draco meteor where dragon-type energy is collected before it is released and as Feebas can't learn both of those moves, most of the energy just dissipates, and thus only embers are produced.

(At least we have a dragon type version of ember)

After knowing the proper execution of the move Feebas was able to improve rapidly, As just before the day ended she was able to use a functioning dragon breath that flew over 7 feet away. It still needs work but it's a great improvement considering what we started with.

The process of learning a new move is currently stagnant except for surf not to my surprise as Feebas is a water type. But what did surprise me is even though splash is a normal type move, Feebas was able to create a 4 feet wave which she rode using the move. She practiced it as the last part of our daily training. Near the end of the week, considering she was already getting proficient in riding the wave, I task Feebas to try creating a wave without using splash but by focusing more on the water-type energy inside herself.

It was truly a good start, Feebas was even able to make the water rise for a bit creating a small wave in the process without the use of splash by the end of the week similar to when a certain girl was just starting out in a certain tv show where people can control the four elements.

I was even able to get my father to procure me the different kinds of Pokémon scales which include the prism scale along with the Poffin mold which I got the very next day. The Pokémon scale will take a bit longer to get or so I was told.

With the help of Joseph, I was able to create my first batch of Poffins using Apicot berry and some Wiki berry. I choose those berries because from what I recall from the gen 4 games they were the better ones to use to increase Feebas' beauty condition. Feebas was hesitant at first seeing something different but when she got a taste of the stuff she just went all in, I even forgot that Poffins was supposed to be a snack but it was all gone before I knew it.

I had to limit giving Feebas Poffins in the future, somewhere between 4-5 in a day since our stock of Apicot berries may be limited as far as I know but just to be sure I decreased the amount of Apicot berry and wiki berry I mix in her food.

(Maybe jars worth for a day is enough for Feebas since I still have over 50 jars still available in the penthouse storage compartment not even adding the ones still in the storage house behind the mansion)

It was truly an eventful week but as far as I'm concerned the most interesting part is when I noticed by the end of the first day that Feebas stopped pausing for 10 seconds every time I talked to her. And so I tried asking her about it and from what I can get, it's a type of power move to create a suspenseful scene. That's when I realized that I may have my work cut out for me and I don't even have the HM for Cut.

This chapter is more on building a foundation for the future and interactions, maybe abit of back story? Once again feed back on mistakes and possible improvements is greatly appreciated.

This took longer than expected but it is also understandable since its 6.8k words long surpasing my 5k plan by a large margin and I even removed half of the stuff that was suppose to be here but I thought writing for another 2 days for a 10k worth of words in a chapter might not ideal.
