Pokémon- Pokemon a self insert story

It was a large room with white marble decor and complex machines where an old man with grey hair and a white lab coat was entertaining his young guests.

"Now it's time to choose your starter pokemon. I hope you select your pokemon wisely, for it will serve you as your friend, companion, and partner for the rest of your life together. So don't regret your choice later."

Professor Oak announced while revealing four poke-balls to the three young teenagers, no old than ten, starting their pokemon journey as a trainer.

The first to come forward without any hesitation was a kid with spiky brown hair and a purple shirt. He inquired about what each Pokeball entailed for him, the other two listened to the professor with great interest about the contents of the poke balls.

Without much thinking, he picked up the Pokeball in the middle, which was a water-type, squirtle pokemon. The boy, Gary Oak, grandson to the professor without wasting much time took out the pokemon and tried bonding with the creature while heading outside.

"Now, Miss Green is your turn to choose one. The left one has the pokemon Charmander, a fire type, and one of the Kanto golden trio, while the other one is Bulbasaur, a grass-poison duel type also one of the golden trio.

The girl without giving a second thought picked up the fiery Charmander and exited the research lab with her first win.

"Ah, young Ethan, the third was supposed to be secured starter pokemon for Rowena, but she thought it would be good for her to start in the Johto region instead of Kanto. Well her choice, this lets me be your Pokemon guardian and I have much expectation from you from your track record of working as a caretaker in my lab."

The third young man was the last one left and before him were two pokeballs, each giving him a choice.

"What were the two last pokemon again professor?"

"This one here is a Bulbasaur, as explained in a dual grass-poison type and the other one is actually an unruly wild Rat, electric type Pikachu, but I would not recommend that if you are not up for a challenge." Professor Oak explained to Ethan.

"I would choose the Bulbasaur as my starter, I am interested in its dual-type nature, and its fame as the Kanto golden trio amuses me of its potential." Ethan picked up the Pokemon to release his newly formed companion.

A white light engulfed the environment to raise up a small toad-like green colored create with a bulb of leaves on its back and red eyes which were mesmerizing.

Ethan was surprised to say at least, the System was something he hadn't heard or seen anywhere in his short ten-year life, and the most strange thing was the memories that it offered to provide him. The professor was not surprised by the solid translucent screen before him, so chances were that this was in his exclusive sight.

Also, the currency it used was apparently Fame, which was self-explanatory that the more famous he was the richer was within the system, but what particularly astonished him was the number of poke dollars it said he had. In reality, he had no access to or clue how this much money was in his possession.

For the world he was an Orphan, he was raised by his Aunt and Uncle since his birth. They as a family were not rich but somehow lived their life comfortably. His parents were minor trainers in the league and it was after great effort on his part to get admission to the pokemon academy and coming top of his class in mid-school that was he able to secure his current position as a Pokemon trainer as a protege of the famous researcher cum professor, Professor Oak.

He was very excited to verify the system,'s claim of the money he seemed to possess. But now was not the time to do so. He eyed his first pokemon, the Bulbasaur, and started leaving the lab with it.

"Wait you are forgetting something, young man. Here you came later than the others so you did not get to get the Pokedex. Now you know you can only carry a roster of six pokemon with you and the rest if caught will be sent here, but this info must have been taught to you in the academy yes?"

"Yes, professor Oak."

"Okay, then I wish you luck in your journey to be a Pokemon trainer."

Ethan got out of the lab and started walking towards his home first, he had to figure out his system before he could run out of the Town to go on his adventure.

First was his memory prompt.

"System what will happen to my mind if the foreign memory invades my mind?" He hoped the system to give him some sort of answer.

[Currently, the host would have 50/50 control of every function, nation, and memory of the body, does the host want to change the conditions of merging?]

"Yes, set that no control is passed to the new memory and the memory seems as one with the present, not of another me but the extension of myself only.""
