Chapter 1In the Beginning

It was around 6am in the morning and the alarm was already screaming.

I gave it a smack more than once to stop the incessant screeching, but it kept going, exercising it's impatience to get me out of bed. I reluctantly opened my eyes and stared at the ceiling for like a minute. Changed my position to the other side of the room and looked at Shade, she was still snoring and lost in the wonder world.

Shade has been my friend from childhood and till now, we are still friends, in fact she is a friend turned sister. Everybody knows her with me and I love her endlessly, or used to love her endlessly. We both applied for "Jamb" to study in the same University as it appeared we were not ready to be separated in any way. Fortunately, our plan worked and yes, we are both students of Obafemi Awolowo University and are both studying Micro Biology.

I hurriedly woke her up and reminded her we ought to be in the lecture room for MCB 107 and most importantly, we have to be there even before the lecturer. She rose to her feet and staggered to the bathroom as if she was intoxicated from alcohol. In less than 45 minutes we were done and all prepared. We started trekking to class as we couldn't get any shuttle. While we were chattering and laughing and as we took a bend around Angola hall, I could hear some footsteps behind us but I didn't mind because it's a school environment and everyone would just be going to and fro minding their own business.

Suddenly, I saw his glimpse as he walked up to Shade, he appeared to be smiling at her.

Guys of nowadays, wooing every lady is now their hobby. Just as one walked up to me last week, he was so tattered and his hair was very unkempt, what's the difference between him and a mad person. "Why has he decided to go to my friend instead of me?" - a question that seemed to bother me popped in my thought.

We walked inside the lecture theater while I kept looking at Shade horribly. I kept looking for where the beauty lies which attracted that very cute guy but I can't find it. I mean, she looked like a baboon craving for bananas even though it doesn't make up their diet.

"Hello beautiful, I am Dele. What's yours?" a gentle voice penetrated through my ear drum as I turned around and saw a guy dressed so clean and his accent were so outstanding.
