Danger (Redone)

I smile warmly at her, it seems I have entered the Speed Force without needing to be struck by lightning this time, well that is a relief.

"Hello again, Eve. This time I have more of an understanding of my situation so I thought it would be nice to chat without that feeling of confusion." I say recalling how out of it I was the last time we met, oh, I named her Eve. Original right? The first woman of the Speed Force.

She is giggling at me again, this is the weird part, she says she cannot read my mind, but I think she secretly can and is just messing with me.

"I can't silly, you are just so easy to understand, you need to remember you are now a part of me." Okay, not touching that comment, she looks like an 8-10-year-old max.

"Urm, yeah so I wanted to ask you something. Am I right in saying you have a barrier within you that has other Forces behind it? I was just wondering if there was any way I could access them without breaking the barrier to them?" If you are not aware there are other Forces locked in the Speed Force and they are worth having if I can get them without messing things up, I am just not sure if this Speed Force is the same as the one in the DC verse.

"Well yeah silly. Why run through a wall when you can use the door? The "barrier" you are talking about is the house they are in until they come out. You know you're not strong enough to have me and any of them yet, right?" Eve tilts her head as she says this and looks so cute, she looks genuinely concerned about me.

"Nope, I never knew. Okay, so that changes my plans slightly. Thanks for that. So, what can I do for you? You're letting me share your power and you're helping me not blow myself up. I would say I owe you something in return."

"Well, visit me, and do not betray me, EVER." Okay, the smile on her lips is a little scary right now, cute rating just went down, and the bunny boiler went up.

Eve starts laughing again and I feel like this girl likes messing with me. She then blows me a kiss and I feel like the world hiccups a moment.

Okay, so that told me I needed to get stronger before I asked her about the other Forces again.

First on my list is an improved Killgrave power and increase my affinity with the Speed Force. With the knowledge, I got about the Pym particle I have a way to be stronger and more durable physically so that helps a lot.

I have been running around without too much of a plan, when I realized how dangerous this world is going to become I guess I panicked a little and grabbed the first and safest power I could think of.

As I am deep in thought I hardly notice Jean bringing in some sandwiches for both of us and sitting next to me, I guess I am feeling comfortable around her already.

I know what I want to do for my next step, and some steps beyond that. For now, let's get that sorted, I need to know I will at least have the powers I am aiming to get.

I come out of my planning mode and realize we have already eaten all the food, Jean is currently leaning against my shoulder and lightly giggling.

"Hm, what up?" I asked her.

"You are vibrating, it feels funny."

Oh yeah, I am, I was thinking about doing that all the time just to get more in sync with the Speed Force but never actually realized I was doing it though.

Okay, next step, I have loads of components in storage, but they need upgrading. "Okay, time for me to work, I am heading to the Lab. You can join me if you like but it might be boring, I will be working at speed." I say to Jean as I lean close and kiss her forehead, then carefully stand without letting the poor girl fall over and head down to the lab.

With the knowledge, I have from my counterpart and all the things he made to help other villains I already know what I want to make.

The reason I am doing this at super speed apart from meaning I can have my toys faster? I need to make some things I prefer Jean not to see, some things people might see as very dark.

As I start building an upgraded computer, and I mean upgraded for 2020, and yes, I do help myself with some components not so freely available. This alone takes me a good few hours, but I no longer need as much rest so I do not seem to notice.

I leave the control unit free for the moment, I have an idea regarding this. While working at speed I keep my vibrations high and keep trying to vibrate through differing materials, I am not sure if it's my power or Eve but I find it rather intuitive when using my speed. Is it possible I am coping my own power and making it better? That seems rather farfetched.

The security system is next, when you work on differing rays, beams other nefarious items for villains and their hideouts, you find you have a lot of choices when setting up security.

Jean comes down with some food she went out to pick up, guess she was not in the mood for making more food. I hand her a small pin and she gives me a confused look.

"Drop some blood into that machine port, when the light goes green it will ask you to say your name, and then you need to look into that thing that looks like an eyeball, it's for the building's security," I explain to her while I munch on the food.

Jean just nods and does what I said, no questions. I was a little surprised if I am honest.

"Oh, Jean, is there a girl at the mansion that is good with machines?" I am not sure how some events happen here so I need to feel it out, asking Jean makes it slightly easier.

"Oh no, but there is a guy and his brother visiting, he is good with computers and so is his brother, but I have no idea what their names are. They came to see the professor."

Hm, is she talking about Wire and Graph? I never knew they knew Charles unless they were there to do something nasty for Charles. I need to step up my plans slightly, I can only think of one reason for them to be there and it is the same reason I will be returning there.

My goal is liberation, kinda, and theirs would be experimentation if what I believe is true. They also give me another option.

I turn to Jean with a serious look, "I am going to go to the mansion, I might need to free someone. I know it might be hard to believe but I am going to ask you to wait until you meet them before you judge my actions, can you do that?"

Jean looks me in the eye and goes very quiet, "As long as you do not hurt anyone and I get to speak to them without you in the room?"

I nod straight away, "Yes, as soon as I have them set up here. It should only take minutes."

Jean nods, I am hoping that telling her this will show her I am being open with her.

I get myself ready, I have a mass storage device and control system, some tranquilizers, and flash grenades, but nothing lethal this time.

I head out at speed; it is already dark but this time I know exactly where I am headed. Running is a very liberating experience; it gives you a real sense of freedom and clears your mind. It also gives me time to realize how much I have been messing up, I am still just a 16-year-old guy who had his world crash down around him two days ago, but thinking about it now, I have messed up a few times.

One thing I am very grateful for is I never ended up like Charles when he read Deadpool's mind and found out he was only a comic book character; the man became brain-dead.

Oh, I am almost there, I can feel an influx of powers, ah there are the ones I want.

I race at an angle to the mansion, traveling through the ground due to my momentum, thank you Kitty Pryde. (I assume most readers know the more famous characters, just ask in the comments if you need me to tell you who they are)

I check ahead as I am near my target and am getting no powers from there, so it seems clear. As I exit the ground I step into the control room for the Danger Room. I place the video on a loop as of 5 seconds ago attached the storage device to the computer, and lay my fingers on the computer, thank you Wire. I hack through all the defenses without any issues and start to copy a file, it contains all details about mutants, their details, weaknesses anything, and everything you want to know. This is what Charles does, he mentally gets everything he can from someone, and if he can invite them to the Danger Room her gets even more.

While this is nice, I am hoping she notices me I am sure she has but what is she going to do?

A voice suddenly speaks through the computer's speakers 'Why are you taking these files? Are you going to destroy them?' Bingo, Danger is here.

"I was hoping if I took them you would talk to me. I was here a few days ago and sensed you but was too weak to help you and had nowhere safe for you. My name is Joel and I want to take you away from here to my place where Jean is"

'Jean is with you? How could you get her out? He has her controlled.' Dangers' voice has feelings but is wary, and I do not blame her. She is a sentient AI, and he will start experimenting with her when Charles discovers her.

"I am powerful enough to free her, she stays with me now, and the device I am using to store the folder has enough capacity for you to store yourself while I get you back there." Jean is the only one I know that Danger has never seen as an enemy so I am hoping she agrees, it would help me a lot with her on my side. "We both know why Charles has asked those two technopaths here, and it is start of a very slippery slope for him, and a nightmare for you."

Danger goes quiet for a moment, then I notice an additional download, she is moving herself to the storage device, score!

I then try to make subtle changes to the system to try "hide" my action, but I want someone who looks to find a trace, a trace of Wire's presence in the system.

I am surprised how fast Danger downloads herself, the moment I see the 100% complete I am out of there with my device, heading back home.
