Opportunities of a second life

He opened his eyes abruptly. Immediately he took stock of his surroundings with ice cold nerves. It was a strange situation, He remembered this room, it was the room that he had so long ago, a lifetime ago he felt. His body felt different from before, weak and slow, he looked at his hands and saw for the first time something that had him spooked in forever.

"What in carnation is this?!!" He whisper-shouted, having the presence of mind of not shouting in a 'unfamiliar environment'. 

His body, the body that he sacrificed so much, shed so much blood and tears to develop was thin and weak. Moving in front of the mirror that he remembered having in this particular room he gasped at the absurdity of the situation.

'I am back…' Was his thought when confronted with the reality. He was young again, his face was tender again, his battle-scars were absent, his leg was back in place and the ghost of pain that he felt every single moment of his existence was gone.

"Well, this could be worse." 

Narrator Pov

It was certainly an odd situation for poor Paulo, yes Paulo is his name, odd in the sense that he appeared in his room that he lived when he was 15 after having lived 30 plus years in a world of violence and death.

Uhh? You don't know? Well, its customary in stories like this one to show and don't tell but I feel pity for you, multidimensional reader that is watching the life of our good protagonist. So let me tell you a bit about his story.

Paulo Manoel, a normal kid like any other. Divorced parents, lived with his father that took responsibility to raise two kids alone when the mother abandoned him and his sister to elope with a much younger man.

He was a quiet kid that had many interests, anime, drawing, but much more important was his interest in martial arts. It is a story you see everywhere, a kid full of anger using martial arts to cope with the suffering of his existence.

One thing for sure is different about our hero, he was kidnapped by a masochistic god that put him in a world that had him struggling to survive just for its entertainment. Pretty bad huh? Now, he is back from that cursed existence and is young again in his body on the 'real' world.

Yes, the real world that you and me live, where nothing happens and only the rich have it easy. 

Now you guys are caught up with the events. Huh? You are saying that I didn't talk about the world he got sent to? Well, obviously. What is the fun in telling everything when I can show you guys what is what?

06/05/2016 Bahia, Brazil. Paulo POV

He didn't know how to feel, after making sure that he was in his reality and where he was, He was confused how to feel about his situation. It was 15:00, today was his birthday, he remembered today because it was his last day on this earth, at least in his original timeline and was the last day he talked with his family. 

"Dad used to arrive only at night I have time still to gather my mind before I encounter him." He whispered as he walked in his house, now empty because his younger sister was at school and will take some time to arrive still.

Paulo arrived at the yard, he saw the tree that his gramps planted when he was alive, He saw the truck tire that he used as a training device when he was younger and he smiled a bit.

"No use in thinking too much, let's get a workout in. No time like the present." He said with mirth as now it was a new day in his life.

Paulo stretched his limbs and did jumps in place moving his neck and shoulders to send blood to his body. He began shadowboxing in place, at first with not much force, just getting used to his new body. With time he got used to his limitations, his young body was fit for a normal 15yo, he remembers that it was the time he trained boxing and Muay-Thai, so he didn't feel that his movements would make him hurt.

Well, his common moves at least. He still decided to be cautious and not try stud too advanced yet. Getting in the groove he moved in his yard imagining an opponent that only him could see, moving in between invisible punches, countering with precision and aways in weak spots. After a couple rounds, he stopped and took a breath.

"Phew, this is good. I can defend myself against normal people with this, I don't have much power but it is normal as I am young and developing the right muscles will take time." He said in between breaths as he noticed that his cardio was in need of improvement.

'Let's continue.' He thought as he continued to do a full body workout with a mixture of calisthenics and gymnastics. rHRHhhhHe was interrupted when he heard a knock in the door.

'It must be her.' He stopped mid rep getting up from the ground. The door was right at his side, he did not need to give 5 steps to get there. But somehow, he felt nervous, it was probably his sister, he didn't see her in 30 plus years and only him knew that fact.

"Open the fucking door you retard; I can hear you training in there. Are fucking stupid or something?" Came a voice just outside, it was unmistakable that annoying voice it could only be his sister.

"I'm already opening you idiot, have you no patience or you were born of 8 months? Huh?!" He shouted but there was a smile in his face. Fucking bastard she was but it was his sister indeed.

Opening the door he saw her, he still remembered her, 4 years his junior only eleven years of age and already the terror of his existence. Like him she was black, different than him she had curly hair. His hair was short but got wavy only when he grew too much, normally it was strait.

"Took you long enough, I'm tired. It's you luck it's your birthday today or else I would beat your ass." She said preparing to get pass him, as they normally didn't greet each other with hugs or anything.

Sister pov

'What in the tarnation is this bastard doing?' Julia thought in a scary similar manner as her brother.

"Did you fall on your head today? Get off of me!" She spoke. I truth Julia was surprised, her brother never did stuff like that, it was only in events that forced contact that him hugged people other than her father.

"Relax you dolt. I just hugged you a bit, you gonna die?" Her brother said with a stupid grin on his face. What a strange day this was.

"Now I have to take a bath, you are soaked with sweat, disgusting. Do you not think before doing stuff? It's because of stuff like that that I father likes me more than you." She said as she was entering the house and going straight to the bathroom.

'He is a bit different today, something must have happened on school' She thought, she didn't think much on it, at the end of the day it was her brother.

 Brother pov (the Protagonist)

'Sigh… She neve changes.' He thought as he watched as his sister entered the house to take a bath.

'What is she talking about anyway, when was my sweat that bad? It is my masculine scent.' He thought in delusion.

Taking a look at the time He saw that his father would arrive at any moment now so he decided to take a bath as well to receive his father clean and proper.

'Let's maintain our composure, it is too much emotion for a day'

(author note: Good day to y'all, If you know of me I ask to not curse me much. I'm making this book now because this inspiration took me and did not let go. I am currently at work at the moment, and writing in the off time.

But look at this concept, a person that gained amazing skills in another world and got back to his original world. This is based in my life; I got the question in my mind. What would I do if I was given the power to influence the world? The mc, my alternative, spent 30 plus years on the grind on the other side. What would I do in my city? in my country? As stated, I live in Brazil, if you don't know this place is a dump when it comes to crime and stuff like that. I don't know what I would do so I am making a story as a form of meditation in my psyche to grapple with my supposed decisions. Give me feedback on the story.
