Chapter 137: Utter Madness I

...........

"Well done," Yovan murmured, lightly stroking her hair as he looked in a certain direction, "So that's the real threat."

They couldn't see what he was talking about, but Viola could, a Serpentine Dragon swimming toward them above the clouds.

That's how Shanks made sure Yovan couldn't come back, making sure Yovan would stay busy for a long while.

Even the promise of the great war that will take place in the Marineford wasn't enough to attract Kaido's aggression, not when his madness was directed at finding Yovan.

He prioritized spilling Yovan's blood more than all of the blood that will be spilled in the war, but Yovan really wasn't interested in fighting him, not at the moment.

He dearly wanted to fight the Whitebeard, to test the capabilities of his Hasshoken against the strongest man in the world, a man that has Devil Fruit with powers similar to his Kiryu Hasshoken.

Yovan wanted to see if he can improve, and most importantly, to make sure a few things happen in the war.

Many things changed as a result of his actions, so he wasn't sure if the Whitebeard will end up dead among other things... All of those things were thrown out of his mind for now.

Yovan lifted his hand in the sky, and a second later, his blade Enyo was resting on it, inky with his dense seething Haki.

"Stay away," He murmured as calmly as possible, but he couldn't hide the madness in his tone as he scattered, turning into numerous feathers that went on to intercept the dragon.

"Wrorororororo, finally found you!!!" Kaido was truly happy to meet his nemesis, and that sentiment was very much reciprocated by Yovan.

"I need to vent, so thank you for being here," That's all Yovan had to say as he appeared before the colossal dragon, unsheathing his blade.

"Bolo Breath!!!" The serpentine dragon's voice resounded throughout the surroundings as it opened its enormous mouth, gathering fire inside its mouth before breathing it out into a huge conical blast toward Yovan.

"Let There Be Gloom," Yovan murmured with an unsettling tone as he swung his blade, a blade that left behind dark cracks in space as it traveled about.

He concentrated so much Hasshoken in his blades that it cracked, a crack appeared on Enyo, but the consequences of such a power was quite the strange attack.

The strike released a slash like none other, one of Ink that releases immense destructive vibrations as it travels to meet the fire blast.

The strangers and the uninvited guest watched with bathed breaths as the collision took place to create a fascinating scenery.

The slash of Ink did stop the fire blast, making it splatter elsewhere, but the Ink acted differently as it flew back toward Yovan's blade.

He squeezed the blade with so much force it slightly cracked, or perhaps it cracked because of the immense Haki and Hasshoken he concentrated on it.

He swung the blade just as Kaido lunged at him, transforming into his hybrid form in the process with a large spiked Kanabo in his hands, swinging it down upon Yovan.

His Kanabo was his weapon of choice, going as far as giving it a name, Hassaikai. It reeked of immense lightning and flames, condensed with just as much Armament Haki as Yovan's blade.

Enyo found it hard to persevere against the monstrous force concentrated with it, against the wild destructive force of Hasshoken along with Yovan's madness.

But it did persist in the end just like Yovan always does, the blade had drunk Yovan's blood more than any other after all.

The Kanabo and the blade met, bringing upon a wave of destruction that reached even the far away Seizon No Hono, only surviving the blast because of Kalifa's colossal bubbles.

"Here, drink some," Yovan murmured as he appeared far higher in the sky, his state looking inky, something that happens only when his body is under tremendous stress.

From within the Ink dripped actually blood, a small river of blood flowed from Yovan's right hand onto the cracked blade, the latter swallowing it all.

Just as Enyo started to recover, Kaido appeared before Yovan once again, his expression speaking of nothing but killing intent, likely due to the little blood leaking from his mouth.

He looked intact from the outside, but this is where the combination of internal destruction and Hasshoken comes into effect, destroying the beast from the insides.

Yovan's right wing bent by itself, acting as a barrier between the two, hiding him from Kaido's fury, but the latter, as usual, brought about destruction as he swung his Kanabo at it.

The force of the attack almost entirely ignored the wing, traveling directly to Yovan. The latter did learn Internal destruction from Kaido after all.

Much to Kaido's confusion, however, the wing was simply sent away by the force, showing no one behind it.

It was too late to do much, not when Yovan's blade was already on the verge of coming in contact with Kaido's head.

Or rather, it was about to come in contact with a crow, "Everless Gloom," Kaido could swear he heard those words in an instant as he instinctively transformed into his beast form.

It was almost instantaneous, but it was still too late as the blade came upon an Everless crow that appeared out of nowhere, sending fractures traveling far into the ground.

It was the second coming of the fracture of gloom, except greater, yet Kaido's reaction was merely a groan of pain followed by a roar of fury, "AGhhh AHHHHHHH!!"

His roar brought upon numerous falling bolts of lightning, but Yovan had long disappeared, allowing Kaido to compose himself and realize his mistake... Observation Haki needs focus.

Kaido, however, was so lost in his fury that he lost focus, thus he couldn't use his Observation Haki, specifically, he's capable of using an advanced form of the Haki allowing him to briefly see the future.

Future Vision, a highly advanced level of observation Haki allows the user to see a short period into the future; instead of just sensing what will happen by intuition.

Kaido can literally see a precise mental image of what will happen in the next few seconds, just not this time, allowing Yovan to deliver a lethal blow.

But who is the beast Kaido if not someone who would survive a fatal blow? However, at the cost of something very precious to him, so precious in fact that he was on the verge of losing focus again out of rage.

Both of his horns were utterly decimated. That's what he cared about, not the fact that he was bleeding from his nose, eyes, ears, and mouth... Bleeding that stopped in seconds.

The beast's endurance was unrivaled, especially his regeneration to the point that the fatal damage dealt to his head healed in seconds... The horns didn't though.

Kaido wasn't the only one that had to suffer the consequences of his actions. No, Yovan was the same, something that became very clear as he laid eyes on him.

Yovan was no longer flying, he was standing on a carpet of feathers with one of his wings in his hand. Kaido realized why Yovan wasn't behind that wing... He cut off his wing to act as a distraction.

They acted as a barrier, an illusion set up at the cost of losing a wing, temporarily as from his back burst out a few tentacles of Ink, pulling the Wing back in its place.

It seemed like a temporary solution, just not for him, not when his regeneration isn't that far from that of Kaido, "Thank you." This would be the second time Yovan has thanked someone today.

"Thank you for allowing me to vent, and please do continue allowing me to do so for a few more days," He meant it.

This battle wasn't gonna end anytime soon, and Kaido's angry roar said as much, but he didn't allow his fury to take over him, allowing him future sight, something that should've changed the course of the battle.

The Stranger nevertheless made reality stranger than imagination as usual as he started fighting more recklessly than ever before with little to no care for his own safety.

The only thing he made sure to pay attention to was no harm coming close to his weakness, his brain. Other than that, he went wild, his madness felt by the Strangers far away.

Utter madness, the battle was, leaving the Strangers as well as the uninvited guest speechless, horrified even, some loaded with admiration like Laffitte, naturally.
