(Chapter 21) Death and Despair

{Shima no Ryuu}

Ryu panted as he ran down the dirt road, he could see Masamune-san's shop in the distance as he carried his unconscious mother on his back

He looked back to see the fire raging and burning The forest behind him, he could still hear the clashing of metal as the two monsters fought

He barged through the front door as he looked around, he saw that the blades in the displays were missing probably Masamune had given them to Kyoku-san, but he could see a few closed boxes that might have something inside of them

He opened the door and ran through the hallways of the home before opening the door to The living quarters

He lay his mother on the couch before going to the dressers and skimming through the things inside

He soon found a few bandages and a bottle of sake in one of the cabinets, he opened the bottle and applied the alcohol onto a rag and brushed the injuries with it

He soon wrapped them in the bandages and tired them, "I need to get to Jiji, he might be in trouble but..."

He looked back to his mother before shaking his head, "She's going to be fine, her injuries aren't too bad the only thing I'm scared of is any internal bleeding but I can't do anything about that now..." as he looked down tears forming in his eyes

He wiped them and made up his mind, he needed to help his grandfather as soon as possible

As he rushed out closing the doors behind him as he ran down the dirt road ready to defend his family to the very end

Newgate caught another blade with his haki-infused hand as he dodged the other three slashing him

The screams of the people could be heard as samurai helped the injured, and soon shouts could be heard as a wave of pirates came from the north

'Hahaha get them! Newgate-sama is taking care of them let's kill the rest of these pansies!' came the shout of a random member as he slashed towards a samurai using his cutlass

Soon an orange blur moved towards the middle of them before shouting out 'sound breathing third form... Clean storm wind tree!'

As a whirlwind surged around him gutting most of the pirates as limbs flew and landed around the battlefield

Soon a giant Wolly-Rhino Dashed towards the young man sending him flying towards a destroyed building

Newgate scoffed as he saw these men dying, he had no love for this crew and didn't care for the members of this crew except a few people

He soon heard the sounds of the earth being uplifted as he looked back to see the large man

Riku Taruhashi was a gentle kind hearted man, but seeing his home being destroyed right in front of his eyes made him seeth in rage

He raised and spun his spiked flail and readied his axe as he rushed towards the blonde monster that destroyed his home

'Stone breathing second form: Upper smash!' as he threw both his flail and axe towards the blonde as he tugged on the chains holding them before smashing down towards the blonde

He widened his eyes as he saw the man hold his weapons before tugging on them and dragging Taruhashi towards himself

The last thing he saw was a first surrounded by a white halo as his face burst sending brain matter throughout the field

'Riku-sama!' came the voice of Enyo as he rushed towards Newgate, but he soon sensed something coming towards him and raised his hand-covered fist

'Moon breathing first form: Dark moon Evening palace!' as a horizontal crescent slash hit his haki-covered arm directly

Soon a man wearing a purple kimono landed next to Kyoku, 'Are you alright Kyoku-sama?' came his voice

'Hmph, What took you so long Akira?' Akira had long black spiky hair that reached to his waist and wore red samurai armour over his kimono

The man looked down in sadness as he remembered both his wife and child getting crushed by the rubble, a single teardrop falling from his eye

He soon looked towards the blonde rage burning in his eyes as he dashed forwards preparing for his final dance
