Chapter 16 : A Quest With Eina

In the city of Negissa early morning, there is one house where inside was a young man in his room, yawning like he's totally exhausted first thing in the morning.

That was me, Zen.

Being put into the wringer the whole day and even in the night, who wouldn't be exhausted like this? And also my magic power's still low as I checked it earlier. You could say I now have recpvered 75% of my magic power, but I still feel lethargic. Well, whatever.

"「Manifest, 'Recall'.」"

Trying to start off my day, I still used magic to recall my past life memories. It wasn't anything special though, just me recalling all the music I heard and then playing it on my mind again.

Long story short, above was the explanation of 'Recall'. A more detailed explanation was it lets me remember the information stored in my soul and play it inside my head. I'm not using what my brain 'remembers', but the detailed information in my soul.

After all, I think there I heard someone said in the Earth back then that we only use 10% of our brain? So I figured the soul might help. Adding all of that, I wished to recall the 'forgotten memories' of my brain that is surely stored in the soul and transmit it into my brain, loading it with information—a detailed one.

It would feel like you're really watching it when it was just a memory played again, but sure, it is what it is. Also, someone might ask, 'how could you know the explanation of your spell just like that?'

Well, the answer lies to my Skill, 『Aetherial Manifestation』.

The Skill lets me know all the needed information to know about how the spell works. After all, you can't cast it if you don't know it, and even if you do, you won't know how to control it. It's really a good OP Skill.

While thinking all that, I was bobbing my head up and down to the music playing in my mind. After all, while I'm an otaku, I also was a music lover, even now. It was so much I always play games while having a music in the background.

It was also my daily routine, and it doesn't only let me enjoy the day, it also lets me enhance my magic power more. You could say that this was the secret I use to have more magic power.

By using magic everyday, someone's magic pool will be more larger and larger, though each person have their limits. I read it in the book.

Though after an hour or so, my enjoyment was interrupted when someone knocked on my door and then opened it.

"Master, breakfast is re-what are you doing? Also, I sense magic..."

After opening the door, Eina who was shamelessly calling me Master was saying something then became suprised at what was I doing. After all, I do play music, but from someone's perspective it might seem like I was just going crazy.

"I-it's nothing. Also, that was me using magic right now. More importantly, what are you saying just now?"

"Oh, I was saying that breakfast is ready. Madam and I made it."

"Oh, I see. Then, let's go down."

Trying to dodge her question, I asked her, but wow, she can cook, huh? Nice one. Although it was only yesterday she lived with us, but she's getting along with my Mom for sure.

Going down, we ate breakfast with all the members present and then we left for each of our work. Though...

"...Why are you following me?" I asked to someone in just a few steps behind me, who replied nonchalantly.

"It's because I want to know what do you always do, Master. I'm your servant after all."

"No no, when did you become my servant after I just set you free? It doesn't make sense."

"It was of my own volition to be your servant, and this is the payment for living in your house, and also the way to repay my debt to you."

...W-why is she speaking like an adult man..?

"*cough* Anyway, I'm just going to the Adventurer's Guild to accept quests. I bought you without thinking, and my savings are almost drained. I am saving to go to the academy, so I need to be proactive."

"Adventurer's Guild? So you're also an adventurer, huh..."

After explaining to her about what will I do, her face didnxt change much, but I think I could see something hidden in that face... I could probe it with 'Intention Seeker', but that would be rude, so no.

Then, after walking some more, we arrived at the Adventurer's Guild and we entered. But what greeted us was a commotion.

"What's going on?" Eina asked, seemingly quite frightened.

I replied to her, "Don't worry. At first, I was also just as confused as you, but this always happens here. You'll get used to it soon."

The ones fighting was a human and a beaskin, with the former calling the latter a lowly demi-human. Maybe when Eina heard it, she was frightened at what was going on.

Then we passed the commotion and got to the reception area, where Rigel-san was staring with troubled expression.

"Good morning, Zen-san. Are you going to take on a quest again? Oh, and who might this young girl be?"

"She's Eina. For various reasons, she was now calling me Master, but please take note that she's not my slave. Oh, and yes, I'll take on a quest with a higher reward like always."

"I see, then please look at this."

Rigel-san was seemingly curious as to who Eina is, but I just vaguely said her situation and diverted her attention to the quest. She handed me a paper showing a quest with a 4 silver reward.

"This could be good to you. A group of goblins was seen in the nearby town area, and it was a large one. Knowing you, you can probably take them on."

After that, I accepted a quest, but Eina seems quiet this time.

"What's wrong, Eina?"

"No, it's nothing. It's just... I'm feeling something was off to her, but it could be just my imagination."

"..."

Eh... she felt something off in Rigel-san, when I can't even feel anything? Beastkins sure are amazing people.

And so, we proceeded going on the area of the quest.
