“Stick with me, son, and I’ll teach you a lot. I have a book I want to loan you.”

They sat and began to eat. “What’s it called?”

“The Joy of Gay Sex.”

James’ eyes went big. “Oh, my. Really?”

“Yup. There’s also The Joy of Lesbian Sex, The Joy of Animal Sex, too.”

“Dear God, no, not animal sex. People do that? Well, I know they do, but to write a book about it?”

Kenji shook his head. “I was joking about animal sex.” He ate. “This salad is awesome. What’s the dressing?”

“Something I found on the Internet. I made it and tasted it first before putting it on the entire salad.”

They sat, with James at the head of the table and Kenji on his left side.

“You can sit next to me if you want. I don’t bite.”
