Introduction

Through-out history Human civilisation have spoken and told tales about mystical, paranormal and legendary events. A legend is presumed to have some basis in historical fact and to mention real people and events. Historical fact slowly morphs into a legend when the truth has been exaggerated to the point that real people or events have taken on a romanticised Larger than life character (to attract more attention due to excitement and to seem disproportionately important). Myths however are a traditional story, especially one concerning the early history of a people or explaining a natural or social phenomenon, and typically involving supernatural beings or events:

"Ancient Celtic myths" · "the heroes of Greek myth"

a widely held but false belief or idea:

"The belief that evening primrose oil helps to cure eczema is a myth, according to dermatologists"

a misrepresentation of the truth:

"Attacking the party's irresponsible myths about privatization"

a fictitious or imaginary person or thing:

"Nobody had ever heard of Simon's mysterious friend—Anna said he was a myth". and fairy tales are a children's story about magical and imaginary beings and lands; a fairy story.

something resembling a fairy tale in being magical, idealized, or extremely happy:

"a fairy-tale romance"

a fabricated story, especially one intended to deceive. In this book is a documentation of myths and legends.

Jack Sheppard is a schizophrenic male, and no we're not talking about the highway man and prison escapee who will also be spoken about in this book.

these stories might get kind of violent, so this book is not for children but instead one for teenagers and adults.

This book is a morbid book and is made to thrill the reader as well as it is going to be based on real people and events in short stories about the myths and legends.

Each story comes from as far back as the 1300s and from all over the United Kingdom, which in case it's just me who thinks this but is that country is shaped like a which on a broom stick?

The redcap (or Powrie) is a type of malevolent, murderous goblin found in Border folklore. He is said to inhabit ruined castles along the Anglo-Scottish border, especially those that were the scenes of tyranny or wicked deeds and is known for soaking his cap in the blood of his victims.

Red-Caps: The thick-set old elf

one day back in the early 1300s there was once a man called William de Soulis a man who plotted against the king, his hair was quite black his pocket's filled to the brim with gold, by day he would work and slave but at night he was a menace, in castle De Soulis he lived but on one clear night, when the moon was full and the stars were bright, he through on his cape and walked to the tavern, to partake in drunken crime, with a sinister intent to take over the land's, he walked up to a table to sit with a friend, to plot the end of the king's reign,

his friend said with a grin, his lip's chapped and breath that smelt like a dead body, "Master De Soulis, I have found the right spell, there is no way that it can fail, I know that you're my lord, but I cannot ignore, that these are dangerous power's, which should not get abused." Soulis spoke back, in a dominant snap "You dare to question my ability peasant?" his friend spoke back "His name is redcap, he's a thick-set old murderous elf, he causes mischief, fire red eye's and his hair is grisly, his fingernails are talon's if you become it's master it'll follow you're command's quite quickly, but thou have to trick him and capture the creature in a box of lead, offer him a deal destroy the king or be killed," De Soulis then spoke "is that so? I must start my search tonight, where do thou find him?" he curiously asked his friend who said "up in the marshes just outside of the realm, though he's known to toss rock's at the travellers who pass his lair and if a rock kill's them it'll creep up to their corpse, he'll take his cap off and soak it in their blood before dragging away the body" De Soulis stood sharp "my friend I must part so I bid thee farewell" and he left the tavern in order to hunt down this murderous creature.

once he arrived at the marshland it was the start of dusk he sent two men with a lead box to walk and then open it, and lore the creature out for its capture, they turned and started to fire, arrow's sticking in the mud and stone, that's when they began to hear iron boot's stomping and took fire from him, the rock's splitting their head's wide open.

De Soulis was hiding behind Redcaps lair, waiting for the elf to climb in the box, when redcap peered in and saw food laying on the bottom of the box, naturally redcaps climbed into the box and as he did De Soulis snuck up and then closed the box's lid, using iron chains to him lock in,

that's when him and his men returned to his castle and spoke to his new servant

"Hello out there, I'm trapped in a box, see I cannot, can you let me out to go home?"

William said "No, if thou want to be free thou will kill my king or be killed" redcap's spoke back "Okay you swine, I will kill your king for my freedom, let me out of this box and your command is mine" William let him out and said "do it however thou shall want, but report back here after he's dead do thou hear" to which redcap's said "Fear not my master, my word is my honour" before disappearing into a mist of dusty powder, lord De Soulis went to bed after clearing his head.

meanwhile over in the east of the king's castle arose some guards from their slumber, from some crashes and blood turning shrikes, as the guards fought back, the whole east of the castle's roof collapsed on killing them all,

Their blood now staining the walls and redcap appeared in the king's room,

The king said "What is this? you disturb your king's slumber!" redcaps walked in with a devilish grin and said "My name is Redcap's, I make you settlements collapse and I've came to kill you for my master, He stays at the castle De Soulis and I think that he's an asshole so once I've killed you I'm going to murder him too" that's when a soldier walked in and saw him took out a knife took aim and threw it at him, but redcaps vanished and the king sent out his men to hang De Soulis for the treason he was committing the king laid back down and redcaps lunged at him out from nowhere and bashed the kings head in with a rock, the king's blood and brain's splattered all over the bed board wall's pillow's and Materis, covered in blood he vanished back to the castle to where De Soulis was getting arrested and the guards were holding the box to trap him, redcap's appeared in the room and that's when the trapped him, and the very next day at nine Stane rig redcap's got boiled to death and as for William De Soulis, his master, he got imprisoned in Dumbarton castle and that's where his soul remains' to this day.
