Chapter 99 - Hidan vs. Shikamaru and Asuma

As soon as Kakuzu finished speaking one of the four thread creature fell apart, and seeing this scene Hidan laughed hard saying "Ha! I knew it one of them is dead, and you are standing around acting all cool, Now move and free me from this Jutsu".

But before Kakuzu could act Shikamaru started running in another direction yelling "Guys! I take this one away from here, Asuma-sensei come with me" and so Shikamaru, Asuma and the still bound by the shadow Hidan, moved away from the battlefield.

Just as they distanced themselves from about 1 kilometer, Shikamaru, couldn't hold his Jutsu anymore and Hidan is once again free to move, and the first thing he did was attack Shikamaru with his scythe, blow that Shikamaru was barely able to evade.

And Asuma took that moment that Hidan left himself open, to attack him with his Chakra Blades, shaped like trench knifes worn like brass knuckles, with a zigzag-shape blade to give them "teeth", aiming at Hidan's neck, but Hidan easily defend himself with his scythe and is able to counterattack.

But Asuma once again distance himself, then Hidan notice that there is blood on the point of his scythe's smallest blade, and looking around he notices a really shallow cut on Shikamaru's cheek and scream "How lucky!".

So he starts doing his ritual as soon as possible as he wants to end this fight fast and move on with his mission, so he consumes Shikamaru's blood, creating a link with his body, and in the next moment Hidan takes on a Grim Reaper-like appearance, with black skin and white bone-like markings, while at the same time he draws the Jashin symbol on the ground.

Then he says "It is time to end this! Come one!" but just at that moment Asuma threw a kunai, aiming right at Hidan's heart, and Hidan smiling does nothing to evade the blow and let the kunai pierce his heart without problem.

But instead of dying Hidan started mocking Asuma "Good job bastard you just killed your student!" and at the same time Shikamaru fell on the ground holding his chest with a painful expression and Asuma screamed "Shikamaru!", and Hidan takes that moment of distraction to attack Asuma by throwing his scythe.

Asuma then realize his mistake and awkwardly roll to the side to evade the enemy's weapon, and Hidan leaves the symbol to take advantage of Asuma unfavorable position even more, and starts furiously attacking Asuma with both the scythe and is retractable spears, ignoring almost all Asuma counterattacks, only parrying does that for sure are able to sever a limb.

Then all of the sudden Asuma jump back to distance himself and Hidan notice the cut near Asuma's neck and the blood on the retractable spear, so licking the tip and jumping back to the symbol he looks at Asuma with a crazed smile and says "Now! Let's savor the utmost of suffering together!" and using his retractable spear he stabs himself on the legs, while at the same time bloods come out from Asuma's leg, and he is now on the floor.

Hidan looking at the suffering Asuma yells "Yeah hurts good doesn't it? Attacking the vitals is such a waste! This pain, this is the best! As the other dies, their agony radiates through my body! And living through it feels even better!" then he hears the sound of battle coming from the distance and says "Unfortunately I can't fully savor this moment, as it seems that bastard Kakuzu is having some difficulties, so it is better to go and help him... It's going to hurt plenty so be ready".

Then Hidan stabs himself in the chest and looks at Asuma spiting blood and falling over then with an ecstatic expression he moves near Asuma body and says "Ah... yes... that is the stuff...".

Then Hidan once again heard the sounds of Kakuzu's battle and this time it seemed even more ferocious, so he started to move toward his partner, or at least tried as he now is once again unable to move, and soon noticed that his shadow was joined by another one coming from the "corpse" of his opponent that now once again stood up.

So Hidan screams "How is it possible I killed you!?" and Shikamaru "Not really, your Jujutsu while powerful has a lot of limitation, and if you know what to look for it is easy to evade..." then the "dead" Asuma near him stood up and cleared the blood on his body and said "Especially if you know everything about your enemy, like their character, how they fight, their Jutsu... all things that we know, like the fact that while it is really hard to kill you if we separate your head from your body...".

At that moment from behind Hidan appeared Hayate that with a swift strike cut Hidan's head off his body and continued Asuma's speech "You are unable to do anything, now the only one left is your partner, by the way thanks for the help, he is much stronger than you and really hard to hurt, not counting the fact that we have to kill him 5 time to end him for good doesn't help much, so the fact that you killed him 2 times is a great help...".

And Hidan with his eyes wide opened ask "How?" and Shikamaru clearing the blood on his cheek and showing that he wasn't wounded replies "Simple the blood you used for your curse came from your partner, and as Hayate-sensei told you we already knew your capabilities, so we were prepared to deal with you, when Kakashi-sensei killed Kakuzu he also took some of his blood and when he was kicked away, Hayate-sensei that was invisible using his Tōton Jutsu(Transparent Escape Technique) took the blood capsule from him and gave them to me and Asuma-sensei, from the beginning you were fooled by us...".

And so Hidan started screaming profanities and Hayate then asks "So what do we do with him?" and Asuma "I'll burn his body, then we bury his head here, and then we go and help the other, once Kakuzu is out, we bring both the head and Kakuzu's body back to Konoha" and Shikamaru "Sound like a good plan let's do it" and so they quickly cleared the battlefield then they went back to help the others.
