Chapter 56: Dominic’s dream

It was six in the morning when Michael finally arrived at the base, he hurried to Dominic's office thinking he had found something relating to Kang lei and needed his help.

Upon entering he saw Dominic searching around frantically looking through different files that was scattered across his desk, he looked tired as though he hadn't slept in days. Michael walked over to him with a complicated look on his face, "brother you asked for, did you find something?" Michael asked looking at Dominic a little perplexed.

Dominic finally acknowledge Michael upon hearing his voice, "good you're here, I had a dream of BoJing lastnight... he was in a room with a speaker box...I need to get too him quickly....but first we need to review the information on the Wuxian's again there must be something linking them to one of the children's home. Am sure MiMi WuXain got back in contact with someone who's linked to one of these children home, they will know something" Dominic stated, while Michael stood confused did Dominic say a dream.

"Ahem...brother did you say dream... like when you close your eyes and go unconscious for several hours, that kind of dream?" Michael ask questionably, did his renowned brother-in-law go mad in the past few hours.

Dominic turned to him sternly and harshly replied "don't mock me, if you don't believe me then get out"

"Dominic... come on you just said you had a dream...again I repeat you said a dream how do you expect me too react to that... I know you have advanced abilities but since when did that include premonition... now you're talking about supernatural phenomenons" he said trying to make Dominic see sense.

"Fine you don't believe me get out, you're just wasting my time" Dominic scorned.

"No am not leaving, you're taking this too far now, next your going to tell me you can fly and shoot laser beams from your eyes, I don't think the Alpha X gene is that strong by any means, even the army themsleves would be afraid of such a weapon" he scoffed at Dominic's remark ignoring him as if he didn't hear him say get out. not to say he wasn't annoyed at Dominic for calling him out of his sweet bed to tell him he had a dream.

Coldly Dominic replied "I don't need someone who's going to doubt me around, I'll say it one last time get out"

"Yah, yah...just give me the damn files... if anyone should be angry right now it should be me, for I too was having a dream in which you interrupted...gosh this sister-in-law of mine owes me big time for my pain and suffering, now stop acting up and let's look for this lover of yours" Michael said dismissing him again.

Michael knew how obsessed and possessive Dominic can be, once Dominic cared about something he was sure the man lose all logical sanity and becomes a giant psycho. As illogical as he thought Dominic is currently being, he too was still worried about Kang Lei and his son.

Dominic refused to acknowledge Michael's presence any further, he was annoyed and his headaches for the last few days was threatening to disable him, he had injected six times the required dose of morphine before he had gotten to base and already he was in sever pain. He kept his head down not wanting to make Michael see him in such a state and order him to take a break, he needed to find BoJing an fast he couldn't stop no matter how much pain he was in. While he was distracted by both pain and thoughts he heard Michael's voice.

"So this dream of yours....what did you see?" Michael asked skeptical of whether he should've even asked. Dominic said nothing for a while obviously annoyed that his so called best friend thinks he's crazy, a slight sunken look came on his face which Michael instantly recognised as Dominic face when he's upset with him and was basically sulking like a child. Michael sighed it was far too early in the morning for him to be dealing with all this he thought.

After a long moment of silence Dominic finally open his mouth. "BoJing was crying and begging me to help him, I think he was in some sort of a room, there was a speaker on the wall playing Kang Lei's voice over and over again, BoJing said something about they're coming an told me to get out and that's when I woke up" Dominic was hesitant when he spoke as if reciting the tale of his own dream made him realise the stupidity of saying he had a dream.

Michael again noticed Dominic dilemma and spoke up "okay did you see anything else that you think would be useful" he genuinely asked.

"No, everywhere was pitch black, like I was in nothingness...but...something about the dream felt real" Dominic sighed closing the file he was looking at, he felt conflicted.

"Okay, okay am not going to lie but am skeptical of-course, Personally I feel you've been stressing too much and had a suggestive dream. We can't focus on that right now we need facts. I think we should try and get closer with the WuXain's especially that MiMi girl. Didn't you say you had a plan for her"

"Yes, that was before Kang Lei had gone missing, but now I can't do nothing till I know where Kang Lei is. There's a meeting prepared with my parents next week which I'll attend, I need to remain docile to them until we have a proper plan in place"

"so what's your immediate course of action now?"

"send a few men to search and investigate around the area where Kang Lei and BoJing disappeared. Also BoJing must have been born somewhere l'll need you to pull up all the hospital records in area with omegas who have a large debt, as BoJing isn't legally registered that means Kang Lei must have fled the hospital with BoJing after giving birth. I'll pull up the WuXain's phone records and cross reference who MiMi WuXain has called, any questions?."

Michael paused before continuing in a dejected tone, "What about our missing men, it's been weeks since that video was posted online, and we know the army has been collecting information on you. It's only a matter of time before the army finds out what happen on that failed mission and come for you. We can't ignore the fact we're all in danger too, Dominic we have our men's lives on the line they can't last much longer in that place, you more than anyone knows what the army do to traitors".

Michael was firm and serious this time, he was okay finding Kang Lei but they also had men who were suffering for Dominic sake, they needed to priorities their resources and not just focus on finding kang Lei.

Dominic knew what Michael had said was true, he was spending too much time focusing on Kang Lei and neglecting his men, "you're right....in that case I'll focus on finding Kang Lei, mobilise the remaining men and carry out the rescue mission"

"How are we to leave you on your own to find kang Lei? besides we need you for the rescue mission, you're the only one who knows the location of the secure unit and how to disarm the security system. Dominic your not thinking this through your too focus on a man you've only meet a few times, what if he's not really missing and just off with a new boyfriend have you ever thought about that, beside y...."

"SHUT YOUR MOUTH MICHAEL JONES!!"Dominic stood from his seat and shouted fiercely slamming his hands on the table with his eyes turning yellow, this made Michael's body jolt at the sudden sound.

Dominic looked dangerously at Michael as if at any moment he would instantly attack the other if he spoke another word.

Michael didn't dare to speak any further, he knew he had crossed the line, it was best to leave and continue the conversation when Dominic was thinking rationally. He sighned softly and exited Dominic's office, he himself knew if the shoe were on the other foot and it were Andrew whom was missing he would've behaved in the same manner, 'love need only a moment to capture your heart' Michael thought as he continued on his way.
