I'm Just A Boss?

Lost in his thoughts when he blurted those words, "Wang Yi-An, just what do you feel about me?" He hated himself as he couldn't believe his words. Shocked by his own actions, he thought, "Wait... Did I just... Confess?"

Yang Tian-Xu felt like he became the stupidest person alive. It was sudden, but he had just asked her about what'd she felt about him. How does he expect her to answer? "I… I…" he panicked and mumbled his palms sweat and he could have feel a shivering cold emerged inside his body, "Well, I… Want to know… If you… Ah… Feel… Like… Ah…" His nervousness overwhelmed him.

Think! Properly, think! Unable to think, he felt nauseated and dizzy. But then, the corner of Wang Yi-An's lip curled upward as she said. "You're a great person, President Yang! I feel like that every time you're near!"

"Say what?" Dumbfounded as Yang Tian-Xu stood there blinking his eyelids, his mind went blank. Wang Yi-An continued. "You want me to give a good rating for Yang Corps internship program right?" She asked, "Why else would you seem so tense?"

Why else? Yang Tian-Xu wanted to grab her and throw her down onto the ground and make love to her like a wild animal, but how could he act on such an impulse? Impossible to tell her how he felt, Yang Tian-Xu fell to depression. It was a good thing he had a high tolerance for his own frustration and self-control. If not, what could he do? He thought perhaps her assumption was a good thing? After all, he won't have to make an excuse and lie to her again. Not for a hundred years would Wang Yi-An thought his question was a confession. Yang Tian-Xu sighed as he articulated, "Yes, I really hope to know about your feelings for Yang Corps before you give your reviews to the board." He smiled at her charmingly.

The board was a regulation designed by the government and it was mandatory for every secondary institutions and companies that arranged internships program to hire students; companies required to submit a weekly report on students. And the students required to submit a monthly report to the board's website every month of employment; they must submit all evaluation forms online. Wang Yi-An thought his question were regarding her report for this month. However, only Yang Tian-Xu knew the truth. Yang Tian-Xu hated himself, he doesn't want to lie to her. However, the more he loves her, the more he feared rejection.

Wang Yi-An enjoyed working at Yang Corps, so she smiled at him and told him, "I think Yang Corps is the best employer!" Yang Tian-Xu felt pitiful, he doesn't want to be just an employer. Yet, how could he be greedy? For now, he decided, he would watch over her just a little longer. Perhaps maybe one day, he won't be able to hold the truth in any longer? Or he need not hide his feelings for her no more; wishful thinking. Yang Tian-Xu smiled back at her, as he took a few steps back. He picked up the bag he had dropped before he rushed over to her aid, as he turned to face her, he handed out the small paper bag to her. "Have this as another plus point for Yang Corps?"

"What is it?" She asked as she stared at it, he forced it into her hands and said, "It's a new smartphone, the company gave interns a company phone."

"Wow, really?" Wang Yi-An became excited. However, for a short moment as she looked at the phone, she paused, and she saw how expensive the brand was, and so she shook her head. "I… Can't take this."

"Why can't you?" Puzzled as he thought he saw how excited she was at first, but then she balked the offer.

"Someone important gave me this phone, so I can't replace it." She said, with a little sadness in her voice as she stared down at the new phone inside the bag. Her eyes teared up, and he noticed. He went over to her side and pulled her into his embrace.

His sudden movement shocked her, but she didn't struggle, nor would she push him away. In fact, she felt like he was comforting her. Wang Yi-An felt like perhaps it would be okay to cry in his arms. Yang Tian-Xu's gentle embrace made Wang Yi-An felt like it was all right for her to feel this way. She let out all the tears as she cried, silently in his arms. And Yang Tian-Xu let her cried, a silent moment with her in his arms, wordless as he held her tight. He won't ask her why, he only wanted to held her in his arms as she cried, for as long as she needed his comfort.

Even though Yang Tian-Xu wanted to know, but he won't ask. Again, a sudden memory appeared in his mind as he remembered the first time he saw her crying. It was that time when she talked to Assistant Tseng about the flight that disappeared, people named the plane Medaria. Wang Yi-An had mentioned she had someone important to her on that flight. Perhaps the wore-out old model phone she used was a gift from the same person?

"Whoever can make you feel so much sadness you had to cry out these tears? Someone you love? A family member?" those were the thoughts inside Yang Tian-Xu's mind as he embraced her gently in his arms. He knew it was wrong to feel ill of the deceased, but he hated the thoughts that someone could make her cry this much. His heart ached whenever he saw her cry, because the love he had was genuine.

Love... It made him felt a sharp pain in his heart as he saw her cried. Yet, he was happy to be by her side when she cried. Mix with emotions he could not understand. Why does he felt this way?

At 5:19 p.m. She had cried for a while as unable to stop herself. But, she had a good cry in his arms; she looked at him as she wiped her tears and she smiled at him, "Thank you. I needed that." Yet, a tear fell from the corner of her eyes.

He smiled back at her as they shared another moment of silence. Yang Tian-Xu saw Wang Yi-An smiled at him again, and he felt better. At first, when she cried in his arms, he felt a deep pain in his heart he couldn't understand why, but every time he saw her tears, he would felt the hurt. The pain was a sharp aching pain inside his heart. It was as if someone had taken a thousand needles and stabbed him with it, over and over. That aching pain, he imagined perhaps she felt that way? Perhaps those feelings he felt belongs to her and not his.

Yang Tian-Xu smiled at Wang Yi-An, he lifted his right hand up and wiped the fallen teardrops from the corner of her eyes. "Anytime you need someone to talk to, or even cry too. I wanted to be here for you." He gently wiped the other side of her cheek with his index finger, and he continued, "I wanted to be there when you needed someone, even if it's something small."

The way she stared at him, made him felt like he was dreaming. If he could hold her again, no matter what the occasion might be, happy, or sad. He wanted to be a part of everything related to her. The gentle caring voice of Yang Tian-Xu was smoothing as he said, "I want to be a part of everything."

Perhaps she could understand the feelings he had for her now as the tears in her eyes stopped rolling out. Her eyes were red, swollen from the tears and rubbing, but he showed her how much he cared for her with his gentle gesture. He used his thumps to feel her cheeks as he held her face with his palms. He leans in closer, "Please, let me know if you need any help at all."

"Thank you, President Yang! You are indeed a good man! An excellent boss!" She said as she gave him a cheer-up smile.

Boss? Yang Tian-Xu's feelings languished when she called him "boss", and so he could only sighed, as he forced a smiled towards her and thought, "So I really am just a boss…" He drowns himself in his misery.
