After Nixie left, Samuel sat back on the bench with his hands on his head "Idiot! Idiot! Idiot!" He mumbled to himself.
Alan tried to pat him on the shoulder, but his hand phased through. Despite that, Alan continued to pat Samuel's shoulder "There there. You'll get the next girl." He tried to reassure Samuel, even though Samuel could not hear him.
Now that the date was over, Alan checked the time and realised he had spent 45 minutes!
'The date didn't even last an hour...poor guy.' Alan felt more sorry for Samuel as he continued north, following the compass.
[Congratulations! You have guided…]
Finding Mosquitos seemed to actually be easier for Alan as they were much bigger then an ant and they mostly hovered in the air so as long as Alan kept his soul eyes activated, he would just run into them naturally.
Only problem was that having it constantly activated made Alan feel dizzy because of the quantity of souls around him. He guessed there were so many insect and bird souls because he was at a place with a lot of nature compared to the big cities, like central London.
[Congratulations! You have guided…]
Three hours passed, and Alan had arrived in another town, but unlike the previous one, this one didn't have as many leisure stores and fast-food restaurants so it was much more empty in the streets, especially because it was very late.
Alan opened his daily tasks.
Daily:
Guide the souls of 10,000 dead ants (10,000/10,000)
Guide the souls of 100,000 baby larvae (0/100,000)
Guide the souls of 10,000 mosquitoes (5000/10,000)
'Can't all my daily tasks be mosquitoes?' Alan wished as it was just too easy for him to find them. The streets he passed through had rows of houses and pretty much all of them had mosquitoes around. As Alan guided all these souls, he felt sorry for them because of the large quantity of dead mosquitoes, but quickly discarded them after remembering all the times mosquitoes were bugging him.
[Congratulations! You have guided…]
'How will I get the larvae…' Alan pondered as he guided the mosquitoes.
Though he was confident that once he found the larvae, there would be tons of them in one batch, but the problem was where to find them.
He did not know if England had any, and if they did, the location he was at wouldn't have them.
Alan was in quite a predicament and he only had about nine hours left.
[Congratulations! You have guided 5500 dead mosquitoes soul!]
Alan continued down his path of guidance for an hour.
'2000 Mosquitoes left...nearly there…'
Alan was near a pub taking a small rest on the steps when the unexpected happened.
*Vroooooom*
*Scurrrr*
*BAM!*
Right in front of Alan's eyes, he saw a motorbike speeding down the road and opposite to it was a car also speeding.
The two vehicles noticed each other too late and the driver of the motorbike tried to dodge the car by swerving out of the car's direction but unluckily, the driver of the car had the same idea and they both swerved in the same direction!
In front of Alan, he saw the driver of the motorbike flying off once the two vehicles collided and all that could be heard were the driver's scream as he landed face flat onto a metal pole.
The driver didn't have a helmet on when he hit the pole. The floor where he landed was covered in blood.
The driver of the car hit his head on the wheel, but soon enough, an airbag came out and to Alan, it didn't feel like the car driver was in danger.
'Shit, shit, shit!' Alan stood up and walked over to the bike driver to check on his injuries.
Alan instinctively tried to touch him to check his pulse, but his hand phased through 'Shit!'
'He needs someone to stop the bleeding! Fuck! Why is there no one around!?' Alan felt frustrated from being unable to do anything at this moment.
Alan walked over to the car driver, hoping he was conscious to call for help but the man was out cold. Alan could see his cheeks were flustered 'He was drunk and driving…' Alan concluded as he looked at the man with anger.
"Ah!!!" A feminine scream could be heard as a staff from the pub rushed out upon seeing the accident.
"Call 911! Wait, no, this is England, CALL 999!." Alan shouted at the woman.
Though the woman couldn't hear Alan, she grabbed her phone from her pocket and dialed 999 to request an ambulance.
More people left the pub upon hearing the accident but most of them were drunk and so all they did was take out their phones to record or talk about it among themselves.
Seeing the small crowd treat the accident as entertainment for their social media really infuriated Alan.
Luckily, the workers moved out and opened the door to the man's car and dragged him out to the floor.
"Okay, put him into the recovery position." Alan said, but some workers stayed around the man doing nothing else and the rest went over to the bleeding guy.
"None of you know first aid!?" Alan was shocked at the lack of basic training that was given to these workers.
The workers did not move the bleeding man in fear that they would cause more damage to him.
"Stop the bleeding or at least slow it down!" Alan tried to give the workers some instructions to help the man, but none of them could hear him.
'Urgh!' Alan was losing his mind at the thought of not being able to do anything 'I am the miracle doctor for fuck's sake! Yet I can't do anything again!' Alan was feeling completely hopeless and angry at his situation.
Being hopeless reminded him of his failure to Alice and what's worse is that Alan was right beside the bleeding man yet still couldn't do anything.
'I hope the ambulance arrives soon.'
