Ch. 158 Lost Comrades

( Yuto Pov )

A few weeks later, we landed on an island called Mysia. Hercules and Polyphemus were out tracking Hylas, who had been kidnapped by nymphs.

" Sigh, it's been days," Atalanta said as she cleaned her bow and put it away as she looked towards me.

" Why are you looking at me? You're the tracker." I said as I looked back at her.

" You seriously think I could track them down with only myself. Besides, I'm sure every Nymph would try to kill me. But you, they'll try to kidnap you like they did with Thiodamas." She explained.

" I call bullshit." I said with a blank face.

" Doesn't matter. You're still going out there." She replied.

" Even if I want to, I'm too lazy to do it." I stated as I was about to walk off.

Just as I turned around, I heard Atalanta: " I'll give you a lap pillow." She spoke as she gave a smug smile.

I didn't answer as I used every ounce of my being to take another step away from her.

" Sigh, fine, I'll also feed some apples as you lay on my lap."

" Deal." I said as I turned around and jumped off the ship.

Atalanta gave me a smug smile before I jumped off the ship.

I just narrowed my eye and focused on tracking Hylas, Hercules, and Polyphemus.

" Now, where did they go? Eh! fuck it!" I said as I activated Eyes of Fate.

Looking around, I saw a small thread of a golden ribbon.

I decided to follow it as I didn't really know where to go from here.

' All that ninja training only for me to use eyes of fate.' I thought as I looked at the ground and noticed a broken leaf.

I stared at the broken for a couple of seconds before continuing forward.

" Yup, definitely this way." I confirmed the correct direction I was taking.

A few minutes later, I found Hercules.

" Hercules! Where's Polyphemus." I spoke as I walked towards them.

" His journey ends here. He founded his new city of Cius." He responded.

" And Hylas?" I asked.

Hercules had a solemn face as he walked past me.

" I couldn't find him." He spoke.

Hylas, he wasn't well known, but he was a servant or a companion to Hercules when we started this journey.

Hercules needed some time to himself, It must be hard on him that he couldn't find his friend even if he was the son of a god and had tremendous strength.

But I did notice how the madness in his eyes grew.

" Hercules." I spoke.

Hercules stopped himself but didn't look back.

Knowing he could hear me, I spoke.

" If you're going to go crazy, remember, I'll be the one to take you down, not as an enemy but as your friend!"

Hercules looked back, and I noticed the madness lessened.

He gave me a nod and walked forward.

" Thank you." He responded.

I followed after him as we both walked back towards the ship.

' I wonder which God or goddess gave him the madness enchantment.' I thought.

" Not again." I said as Hervules and I watched the ship sail in the distance.

I looked around the beach to see dead Nymphs.

" Ot looks like they were attacked, and they could only retreat to the ocean. " I concluded as Hercules nodded.

" Sigh, Space link." I made a portal large enough for Hercules to fit through.

As I walked through the portal, I saw stains on blood on the ship.

" Sigh, shit, someone's gotta clean this." I said.

" I'm not cleaning it." Atalanta spoke as she cleaned her bow again with a grumpy face.

" Hercules! Yuto! Where's Polyphemus and Hylas!" Jason yelled as he came from the lower deck with his barely grown hair.

" Hercules will tell you, I'm gonna clean this boat." I said before walking off and cleaning the ship with magic.

As I cleaned the ship, Pelues walked up to me.

" Is it true, Yuto?"

" What is?" I asked as I purified the ship.

" Polyphemus."

" Yeah, it seems he wants to stay at the island, though I'm sure Hercules knows the details." I spoke as I turned toward Pelues.

" I see. Do you think we'll keep losing members in the future?" He asked with worry in his eyes.

" I don't know, but this journey will be filled with its ups and down. All we could do is continue and keep moving forward in their stead."

" Yeah, you're right." Peleus nodded with a smile.

I watched as Pelues walked away as I stared out to the sea.

" Sigh, this is quite relaxing, but also very sad." I said outloud.

" What's sad?" Atalanta spoke as she stood beside by the edge looking at the edge.

" This journey. Some day, it will come to an end. And it will forever live in our memories." I spoke as I looked at Atalanta.

Atalanta smiled, and she looked at me as well.

" Then you should stop working about the future and live the moment with me." She smiled.

I smiled as the distance between became closer.

I leaned against the railing as we both watched the waves crash against the ship.

" A lap pillow will be great now, especially with some apples." I suddenly spoke up.

" Sigh." Atalanta sighed.

* Land of the Bebrycians *

" Now which one of you will challenge my might!!" The King of Bebrycian yelled as he challenged us.

We all looked at each other.

" You go in the ring." I spoke towards Jason.

" Wha?? me!?? Nononono!!!" Jason refused.

Just as I was about to look at Hercules, Jason pushed Pollux into the ring.

We all looked at Jason.

Jason ignored out, staring as he cheered for Pollux.

" Fight him, Pollux!!" Jason yelled.

We all looked at Pollux, who was smaller than the king.

" HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! THEIR STRONGEST IS A LITTLE GI....GAH!!!!"

Pollox punched the king in the face before kicking his stomach.

And just as the king was about to fight back, Pollux uper cut him with her elbow.

* Splat * Splurt ×2 *

We all froze as Pollux tore the kings head off his shoulder.

" T..The king is dead!!!"

" They killed the king!!!"

The kings subjects turned hostile when they saw the kings head on the ground.

" Shit!" I said as I took out Mahiru-no-yo.

" Sister!" Castor shouted as he went to defend his sister.

What followed next was a slaughter.

' Breath of Massacre: Seventh form: '

' Massacre.'

Moving through the soldiers in an instant as I left them in their own pool of blood.

I feel the same feeling I got when I started Massacre, so I slowed down.

' Breath of Massacre: Third Form: '

' Slaughter.'

Stabbing the soldier through his heart, he pulled the sword out and spun and cut their head off from their shoulders.

Exhaling as I took a step back, I didn't realize the bodies I killed even though I tried to slow down.

" Hehe! It seems you're going to your old ways again." I heard Mahiru from behind as she hugged my head.

I frowned as I sheathed Mahiru-no-yo.

Mahiru disappeared.

No matter how much I deny it, it wasn't the swords fault. It was me.

And I'll be damned if I lose myself in this never-ending inner conflict.

I took a step back before turning around, leaving the dead bodies on the ground.

" It appears we won't be welcome here any longer." I said as I walked past Jason.

Jason stood in shock as he held his sword.

The dead bodies and how I killed them seemed to shock most of the Argonauts.

Some didn't even look recognizedable as they were just lump of meat, or their bodies are mostly gone.

Atalanta followed after me as she put her bow on her back.

" Yuto."

I didn't respond as I kept walking.

" Yuto!" Atalanta grabbed my shoulder and turned me around.

She both of her hands on my face as she forced me to look at her.

" It'll be alright. I know you'll get over it." She smiled.

I put a hand over hers and smiled.

" Yeah. "

Love was a strong emotion.

At that moment, every dark thought I had vanished after her warm touch.

I love her.

There was no denying it.

Even with the gods in the way, no matter how many times have passed.

I will always love her.
