I started the jog back to the safe house. I wanted to take it slow to clear my mind before I saw Desmond again. As much as I hated getting my hands dirty, I couldn't deny the ecstasy I felt when killing. I didn't want Desmond to see that side of me if I could help it.

I was about ten miles outside of the shifter camp when I sensed him. He always had such a strange, unsettling energy surrounding him. I turned right and headed for the water. I knew he was waiting for me there on purpose.

I slowed down once I hit the shoreline. His back was to me as he stood in the water.

"I should have known you'd follow us here, Hamond," I said, staying at the shoreline.

He turned to face me, "It's your fault for teaching me how to track my prey."

I rolled my eyes, "Cut the cr*p Hamond. You know you won't be able to take on all of us. Why did you come?"

Hamond turned back to face the ocean, "Did I ever tell you why I came to the states?"
