Chapter 44

“Every Tuesday he ate at Doris’ Steakhouse, and then he came home to make sure I was where he’d put me. Sometimes the man was with him, they’d go behind the garage.”

Kol raised his hand to his lips and kissed it. “I need to go talk to Elora, wait here.” He hurried out of the office and found Leo, Elora, and Ulf in the conference room, papers spread out around them, a laptop with several tabs open.

“Every Tuesday, Varg had lunch at Doris’ Steakhouse.” All three turned his way.

“What?” Elora searched for something in a stack of papers.

“Elijah said Varg had lunch at some place called Doris’ Steakhouse every Tuesday, and there was a man with him occasionally. Not to the steakhouse, but he’d see him with a man, and they’d go around the garage, and then Varg would come back alone.”

“I know where Doris’ is.” Elora brought up a map on the computer and pointed at a building.

“I’ll go take a look.” Ulf was already getting to his feet. “Do we have anything on the man by the garage?”
