XlV - Let's give it a Try

Suzuki Kazuya's POV

"Hmmm, it's seems that your temperature is rising. Do you have a fever right now?" Shinobu-san touched my forehead while checking my temperature and his face is too close to my face and it only makes me more flustered.

I didn't expect for him to have this kind of reaction and so I asked him if he heard clearly what I said earlier and repeated myself.

"Shinobu-san I'm serious about asking you to be in a relationship with me."

"Ohh! I thought you were having a fever and blurting out things just like before." he pulled his hand away from me and I can see that his face is also turning red just like mine.

"But you never told me that you are gay."he said.

"No I'm not."

"Then why are you asking me to be your boyfriend? Do you think I'm gay?"

"No, it's not like that. Actually it is my first time being attracted to a same sex and I never expected it but I strongly believe that my attraction towards you is beyond anything you can imagine."

"You're not playing a joke right now are you?"he looked right through my eyes as if he is reading my thoughts.

"I'm serious. I will never make my feelings towards you as a joke."

"Then since when did you start liking me?"

"I am not pretty sure but I think I slowly fall for you everyday day from the moment we first met." I feel a little embarrassed saying such a cheesy line in front of him and I accepted the fact that he will surely laugh at me but when I looked at him again, his whole face including his neck is all red.

"It's been a long time since I received a confession so I'm a little surprised right now especially that it was coming from a guy who is almost 10 years younger than me."

"You don't have to answer right away. I am willing to wait so think about it carefully."I smiled and sits back to my seat and continues to watch the fireworks as if nothing happened.

The time of the ferris wheel ride to end seems like forever because of the awkward vibes between us and none of us wants to break the ice.

When we finally ascend and got out of that crowded area, I was shocked when he suddenly pulled me without saying anything and dragged me towards one of the attraction in the park, the Mirror House.

"I made up my mind. I am taking a bet and I'll give you the chance to control the outcome of your confession." he entered the house and suddenly disappeared but I can still hear his voice from a distance as he continues speaking. "If you find me at the exit within 5 minutes and I'll accept your confession. Good luck." and then silence followed.

I thought it was a simple task but I was wrong. The entire house is a maze made of mirrors and I don't have the slightest idea where to find the exit and so I aimlessly walk around.

After reaching almost all of the dead end part of the maze, I looked at my phone and saw that I only have a minute and half to find the exit and so I started running around again.

30...27....24...21.....10..... 6...

Just 5 more seconds and it will be too late.

Hope left me but it came back jumping in my heart when I faced an unusual mirror with a different size and when I pushed it, I was outside, it was the exit.

'You are 4 seconds late."
