Massacre

Lu Ye Ze rushed through the hospital doors, holding his unresponsive wife in his arms. His eyes screamed of desperation while his body was shaking slightly. A team of specialists rushed towards him. They took the girl into OR instantly, leaving the terrified man behind. After two hours of continuous resuscitation procedures, the doctor in charge stopped.

He stepped out into the corridor. Lu Ye Ze was curled up on the floor, holding his knees tight while his head was hanging law, tears had fallen steadily over his face. He heard the door of the OR opening, but he didn't had the courage to look up yet.

"Mr. Lu?" The doctor called, but the man didn't respond.

"I am deeply sorry!" Silence prevailed his whole world instantly. His head started spinning while his ears were ringing uncontrollably. The doctor said a few more words, to which he responded with a sharp "No!", then the doctor left while he stood there, in the same spot and in the same position, for a very long time. Although time seemed to have stopped for him entirely.

His phone ringtone startled him. He pulled the phone from his pocket. It was Dong Zai. After a brief conversation, the man got up and left.

The next morning seven black SUV's were heading out of Beijing, marching forward towards the mountains. The general meeting of the Lu clan, where they would appoint a new family head, has been pushed forward.

The close family members and the extended ones were slowly arriving at the old mansion to attend the meeting. After the new head was appointed a large celebratory party was held the same day.

Guests arrived one by one, the front court yard was very generous, but soon it became overwhelmed by the flow of incoming guests. All family members have gathered today for this occasion. Uncles and Aunties, with nephews and nieces in tow, close cousins and distant relatives were all gathered together. If one wanted to eradicate the whole of the Lu clan, today was the perfect chance.

After a short introductory lunch, the first grade men of the Lu clan headed towards the central hall for their meeting, while the rest of the party kept drinking and eating in the main ballroom.

Inside the central hall, Lu Shaoting was sitting in the head chair while to his right, was his eldest grandson Lu Hongxiang. He arrived alone this morning, his wife didn't had the heart to go against her son, not after all that has happened. In fact he, himself didn't want to attend. He had already upheld his duty and poisoned the girl. What was the meaning of him coming here today, it wasn't like he could be the head again. His grandfather had coerced him to come though and he could not disrespect him.

After all the men were seated, silence enveloped the room. Lu Shaoting casted his old cloudy eyes over all his offsprings and let out a deep sigh.

"We have gathered here today to decide upon our future, the future of our family and our wealth. With deep sadness, I announce the dismissal of my eldest great grandson Ye Ze, from the executive position of the Lu Trust Corporations and as well as the reins of the Lu Clan. I herby announce his immediate expulsion from the family!" An indistinct chatter was suddenly heard in the hall, Lu Hongxiang didn't dare to look up those so called relatives in the eye, not that he even cared.

"We will be starting the voting for the new family head shortly!" The chatter grew loudly and loudly in the hall, an hour later, the doors were open from the inside and the cheers overflowed into the ballroom.

Lu Hongxiang's fifth nephew, Lu Ruiquing was the winner and everybody started cheering for him at once.

"Young Master Ruiquing, you must take good care of us, we are forever indebted to you and rely on your wisdom for our family's good fortune!" His uncle third time removed, started currying favours with him as soon as he stepped out of the door.

"Uncle Zhong is right! Master Ruiquing, I will pray for your soul to always be in good health and your path to be cleared of all evil!" Another relative chimed in.

Lu Shaoting was greeting his relatives that he hadn't seen in a long time while his assistant briefly excused himself.

Outside the mansion, a man dressed in a full black attire was silently looking at the bolted gates. He had stood there for a while now, suddenly he let out a deep breath and dropped his head down. His hands were in his pockets, while the wind was ruffling his hair violently. He slowly lifted his hands from his pockets, retrieving a pair of small wireless headsets. He slowly inserted them in his ears one by one and his soul was instantly swept away by the cello suite 1 music written by the renewed composer Bach.

He turned around at his team and stretched his left hand. Dong Zai placed a black, cold piece of meticulously handcrafted metal in his palm and then stepped forward to open the gates.

Just as the party was heating up, a black shadow entered through the double doors of the ballroom. The man had his hands behind his back, while his men followed him closely behind. The cello music was playing loudly in his ears and he couldn't hear the commotion around him. As soon as his men stepped in, bullets were flying through the air, while the pale yellow walls of the ballroom where suddenly stained in a deep red colour. The smell of blood and gun powder immediately enveloped the large room and soon there was almost no soul alive.

Lu Shaoting was frozen in his feet for a long time, when he realised what was happening he yelled.

"Ye Ze! This is your own blood on this floor!"

Lu Ye Ze looked in the direction of the sound and said.

"No! It's not mine, it's yours!" He then swung his arm from behind, pointing the cold black metal towards his Great Grandfather head, and a second later the old man had succumbed to the floor, in a pool of his own blood.

Lu Ye Ze's eyes had always been on this particular figure since he entered the room and locked eyes with him. His father.

Lu Hongxiang was kneeling on the cold bloody floor, with his head bowed, not willing to look up. Lu Ye Ze approached him and stood before him, but the man wasn't willing to make any movement or sound. Three seconds later, his body fell lifeless on the floor, while Lu Ye Ze's gun was still smoking.

Emirates Airlines 15:05pm

"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Beijing, China. Local time is six minutes past three in the afternoon and the weather forecast is strong winds for the next four days. We hope..."

A woman seated at the window seat, from the third row on the back of the airplane, was still immersed in her book, although every passenger around her, was eagerly getting ready to alight from the long flight and the stewardess was announcing their arrival.

After everyone had already left the plane, she closed her book and inserted it in a leather pouch, with the initials B.S. embossed on the front. When the woman got up from her seat, she was still holding her small briefcase in her hand. She stepped on to the corridor and she turned swiftly.

"Mrs S. This way!" A gentleman boarded the plane and escorted her out. The woman followed silently, she got in the car that was parked at the foot of the airplane ladder and drove off, without going through security checks.

The car drove smoothly through the traffic of the city, while all the radio podcasts were discussing the shocking news of the horrible massacre of the Lu Clan. The car didn't stop until it reached the central hospital. The woman stepped off and headed towards the OR area. A nurse then guided her through the hospital, towards a certain patient's room.

"The patient is brain dead and is dependant on the life support of the machines. On top of that she had been deathly poisoned, although her convalescent state has slowed down the effects of the poison, she is certain to never make a full recovery!" The nurse informed the woman. " Her husband refused to remove the plug and now we are waiting for his return, with further orders!"

"I see!" The woman said, then waived her hand in dismissal at the nurse. Soon after, she was alone in front of the door of her ward. She squeezed her hand on the handle of the briefcase, let out a deep sigh and pushed the door open. Before her, the girl was laying lifeless on the hospital bed. The machinery recorded a pulse and a heart beat, but there were no brain waves. She was dead indeed, but lucky Jo to have a friend like her.

The woman approached the bed and set the briefcase on the chair next to her.

"Hello dear friend! Long time no see!" The woman said while her lips curled up in to a smile. She bent down and inserted a twelve digit code into the small briefcase lock, then she scanned her fingertip and retina followed by a soft click coming from inside the briefcase. The woman opened it fully and said.

"You see, if I knew that one of my children were going to find you to be their mother, I wouldn't have birthed them! Haha! Luckily I still have the father for this one!" The woman said while pulling some liquid out of a small flask with a syringe. Then she gave the girl, the full dose of antidote.

The woman waited for a few minutes then looked at the monitor intently. She counted in her mind, one, two, three... four... ha there it is!. A brain wave suddenly flashed on the screen, a few seconds later there was another one. The woman's lips pulled into a large smile, she pulled out her phone from her coat's pocket and removed the bunny years case to take a selfie with her unconscious friend.

Bonnie, closed her briefcase securely and bade farewell, leaving the country the same way she arrived.

Two days later a flutter of light has seeped through Jo's eyelashes.
