Chapter 594: God Almighty and theLord of Mysteries
The battle between the Lord of Mysteries and God Almighty was witnessed by many ancient outer God in the starry sky. Some of these outer God were even unlucky enough to get caught in the crossfire.
As a genie once sealed by theLord of Mysteries, the Lamp Genie was mentally prepared for falling into God Almighty's hands.
Now, he could only hope that the stars would favor him.
The Lamp Genie calmly looked at God Almighty. "Long time no see, God Almighty."
"Oh, have I met you before? Who might you be?" God Almighty pretended to ponder for a moment, then weighed the magic lamp in his hand and smiled. "This little trinket is not bad, but the genie inside is quite ugly."
The Lamp Genie took a deep breath, suppressing his anger, and coldly replied, "I didn't expect you to maintain your human side so well just after waking up."
"This familiar voice... aren't you the unlucky one tricked into the magic lamp by theLord of Mysteries? I heard you even went in willingly?" God Almighty seemed to recognize the Lamp Genie and lazily said, "I thought you had perished along with theLord of Mysteries."
"Although I don't like theLord of Mysteries much, he isn't that easy to kill," the Lamp Genie sneered. "Do you think you woke up early? TheLord of Mysteries woke up before you and has already returned. In this battle, you're more than a step behind."
"Is that so? It seems I didn't sense wrong just now." God Almighty nodded and tossed the magic lamp to Bernadette, his tone indifferent. "You are of no value anymore."
"God Almighty!" The Lamp Genie was furious but held back his anger.
Bernadette found this scene surprising. She knew the Lamp Genie's temperament and didn't expect there to be someone he feared.
God Almighty, the original creator, truly lived up to his ancient legend.
"In gratitude for the stars aiding my awakening, his followers may freely pass through this forsaken land," God Almighty waved his hand, signaling Bernadette to leave with the magic lamp.
As she left, the Lamp Genie sarcastically said, "Don't think this era will still revere you. TheLord of Mysteries and the stars are all waking up, while you are just a parasite in this chaotic sea, far from truly awakening."
"Child of Chaos, if I remember correctly," God Almighty calmly looked at the Lamp Genie. "Do you want me to seal the rest of your body in another magic lamp?"
"You don't have the ability!" The Lamp Genie wanted to retort but thought better of provoking a powerful enemy over a moment of pride.
Heh, let him continue to be arrogant; I'll watch for his downfall.
The Lamp Genie gave God Almighty a defiant look but decided not to argue further and returned to the magic lamp.
Bernadette had no intention of staying. She bowed slightly towards God Almighty and continued on her way to the Silver City.
As she reached the edge of the abyss, a bridge appeared out of thin air, wide enough for three or four people to walk side by side.
This solitary bridge spanned the bottomless abyss, surrounded by emptiness, with no railings on either side.
Just looking at it induced fear, making one hesitate to step forward.
Bernadette stared at it for a few moments before silently walking onto the bridge.
The slightly swaying bridge required steady steps, or one could easily fall into the abyss.
Bernadette walked slowly, without much fear in her heart.
If God Almighty wanted to kill her, he wouldn't waste so much time.
Watching humans tremble under his divine power and accept their fate might be the Lamp Genie's twisted pleasure, but not God Almighty's.
Bernadette didn't know how long she had been walking, but she finally felt solid ground under her feet and sighed in relief.
The Lamp Genie, who had been silent, spoke disdainfully from the magic lamp, "Heh, always creating such pointless things, truly a twisted pleasure."
"You..."
Before Bernadette could respond, a voice echoed in her ear, "If I throw you into the chaotic sea, will you escape theLord of Mysteries's seal first, or be devoured by the sea?"
The Lamp Genie fell silent, not saying a word.
Bernadette paused, waiting for a moment. Seeing that God Almighty neither approached nor stopped her, she continued towards the Silver City.
This time, the Lamp Genie remained silent in the magic lamp for a long time.
...
Above the gray fog, Klein finally recovered. Worried that the mysterious presence in the abyss of the forsaken land might sense the slight fluctuations when entering and exiting the Sefirah Castle, he stayed quietly inside.
He dared not look towards the forsaken land or communicate with Bernadette, hoping she could safely pass through the Giant King's Court and reach the Silver City.
When the Tarot Club meeting convened in a few days, if Bernadette reached the Silver City, Little Sun would surely inform the fool .
For now, he could only wait for the final outcome.
Klein sighed helplessly, feeling the biting cold of the empty bronze palace for the first time.
Every gift from fate comes with a price. Having obtained the Sefirah Castle and becoming the master of this gray mist, he had received many gifts. Now, it seemed he would have to bear the consequences of these gifts.
In the Hall of Stars, Hastur also kept an eye on the forsaken land. The reunion of God Almighty and theLord of Mysteries after countless years was historically significant.
He had witnessed history, but unfortunately, theLord of Mysteries had not yet awakened, making this meeting somewhat dull.
However, Hastur gained more knowledge about the existence of God Almighty and theLord of Mysteries.
With God Almighty's wisdom, if he truly wanted to verify theLord of Mysteries's return, the quickest way would be to enter the spirit world and seek the gray fog.
But God Almighty chose not to do so, instead indirectly learning about theLord of Mysteries's awakening through the Lamp Genie.
This was intriguing.
Hastur speculated that God Almighty feared his presence in the gray mist might stimulate theLord of Mysteries's awakening, causing the still-slumberingLord of Mysteries to awaken prematurely.
Thus, he avoided provoking the Sefirah Castle to prevent theLord of Mysteries from waking because of him.
Otherwise, with Klein's puppet earlier, God Almighty could have traced it back to the Sefirah Castle.
Another point: Klein's decisive end to his puppet's fate was likely due to the Sefirah Castle warning him of God Almighty's presence and hostility.
Without the Sefirah Castle's warning, Klein, with his current power, wouldn't have sensed God Almighty or known of his enmity.
The enmity between theLord of Mysteries and God Almighty was deeply ingrained in their essence.
The only concern now was whether theLord of Mysteries would awaken prematurely due to God Almighty's awakening, taking over Klein's body at Sequence 2.
The difference between them was too vast.
"Can the return of God Almighty be reversed to put the nearly awakenedLord of Mysteries back to sleep?"
Hastur pondered the feasibility of this method. If possible, it would be a trump card against God Almighty.
"Who would be a suitable test subject..."
Hastur scanned the stars but found no suitable candidates.
The test subject would need to be at least at the level of the Mother Tree of Desire, and he wasn't familiar enough with the stars to risk using his power indiscriminately, lest he be caught by the Fallen Mother goddess .
Thinking of the Fallen Mother goddess , Hastur felt much better, imagining her anxiety over God Almighty's awakening.
