Chapter 2: I am back

When Robert next opened his eyes, he found himself standing in front of a mirror in a bathroom. (E/N: Classic)

In front of the mirror stood a lanky young man with brown eyes, hollow cheeks, a well-formed nose, and thin lips.

Messy brown wavy hair covered half of his eyes, making him look unsociable and unfriendly. (E/N: A type of protagonist that gets a lot of woman)

Pulling the hair back and looking at his handsome young face, Robert couldn't help but run his finger on his face to confirm that he was indeed back.

"I am really back."

Gritting his teeth, he vowed in front of the mirror.

"Lily, I won't let you die this time, no matter what happens."

He decided to wash his face while he sorted out his memories.

"From the looks of it, I should be in my teens, around 14 or 15 years old."

More accurately, Robert studied his clothing – the insignia on his school uniform. He looked around to realize this was his school bathroom. For some reason, he was reborn into a washroom at school.

"Shouldn't it be on the hospital bed? Or any other bed?" He mused himself.

It was strange, but Robert, who had recently encountered many odd things, decided not to dwell on it for too long.

Finishing up everything he had to do inside, he headed outside and walked into the school hallway.

A feeling of nostalgia bubbled up inside of him. This place contained a lot of memories for him, both good and bad.

"Wait. I have a gift left to me."

Labeling the gift in the appropriate name, he tried to next open up the present by saying, "System you there?"

Immediately a translucent, blue notification panel popped up in front of him.

[Welcome to the Pokemon Live Streaming System.]

'So, Mr. system, are you a sentient being who will answer my questions?'

[The system's internal information system calibrates through its database to reply to the host's enquires, so the answer is a no.]

'Perfect, I hate those self-aware talking systems that force their host into situations and try to control their lives.'

"Okay, then tell me your functions and what that whisper was talking about," Robert muttered in a hushed tone to see if he could connect to the system using his voice instead of his mind.

[As stated in its name, the system allows the host to travel to the Pokemon world and live stream his adventures there.]

Robert, who read the notification, was taken aback by this new development.

'Wait, I can travel to the Pokemon world?' He asked in his mind this time as he passed by a classroom.

[Yes]

"Oh my god, that is so cool." He spoke loudly.

Anxious, Robert looked around and relaxed only after finding that the rest of the hallway was empty.

Robert then continued walking towards his class like nothing had just happened.

'That's so cool. I can't believe it. I am living every kid's dream. Wait a sec if I am live streaming in the Pokemon world. How would that work legally speaking?'

[It will be completely legal as the Pokemon Ip doesn't exist in this world. It is also already registered under the host's name the moment the host was bound by the system.]

'Oh my god, this system is awesome. As soon as I spawned, I started out by owning a franchise with a potential net worth of over 100 billion dollars.'

Robert suddenly stopped, looked at you, and said, "By the way, I have just a few more questions, so continue to read, okay."

The system interface was confused by Robert's behavior and couldn't help but send a notification in worry.

[Are you okay, host]

"I am fine. I don't. I just spaced out for a second there."

"Moving on, what about the government? Isn't its 'sus' that I broadcast a new world with realistic graphics?"

[The system has set up a top-tier VFX studio and registered that it has picked up the Pokémon world project.]

"Doesn't really answer what I asked."

[The system uses the universe balancing laws which will make it, so such questions never arose.]

"Universe balance laws?"

[They are the same laws that make it, so only the host can view the system interface, not anyone else.]

"Interesting. Can you explain how these laws work to me?"

[Further explanation not found in database.]

"I will take that as a no. Okay, last question, how do you capture my footage in the Pokemon world? Also, is there a points system?"

[The system deploys invisible drones to record the host from the third person, as for system points, no data entry about them is found in the databank.]

"Meaning they don't exist. Interesting… So, the purpose of the system is only to allow me to travel to another world and broadcast it?"

[That is partially correct. The system also allows you to see the levels of a Pokemon with your eyes.]

"Ah, of course, the classic seeing levels. Well, I guess the rest depends on how I want to proceed in the Pokemon world."

"Oh my god, this whole time, I forgot to ask one of the most important questions. Do I start out with a Pokemon or not? As if not, how am I supposed to get one?"

Robert imagined being forced to choose between the 3 starter Pokemon. The fire-type, plant-type, and water-type Pokemon. But his sight was on the Lopunny, who was further away from him. His imagination was broken by the system's reply.

[When the host spawns in the Pokemon world, he will automatically get a random starting Pokemon.]

"Okay, that's a relief. By the way, where do you broadcast?"

[The system broadcasts on Youtube, but the exception is the host receives the entire ad revenue and the whole donation amounts as none is shared with Youtube.]

"Huh, how does that work."

[Through the same universe balancing laws.]

"Of course, everything the system doesn't want to explain is thrown on universe laws, lol."

Distracted while talking with the system, he collided with a teacher on his way back to class.

This direct collision resulted in the teacher dropping a bunch of paper he was carrying.

"Watch where you are going!!!" The teacher scolded before he realized who he'd bumped into.

"Ah, it's you, Robert. I should have known." The teacher showed a bit of displeasure toward the problematic student, but his tongue was tied up by Robert's reply.

"I am sorry, sir, it was by mistake. Let me help you pick it up."

Robert then squatted down and started helping Teacher Marcus to pick up his paper.

"Wait… Did you just apologize? Did the sun rises out from the east today?"

Robert ignored Marcus's condescending comment and honestly picked up the scattered papers from the ground.

Once he collected them all, he handed them back to Marcus.

Marcus picked them up in one hand and then put his other hand on Robert's forehead.

"Do you have a fever?"

Robert was slightly irritated, but his experience with life allowed him to remain as calm as a frozen lake.

"No sir, I am fine, but I better get going, or I will be late for class."

Robert then left Marcus and rushed to head toward his class.

Meanwhile, Marcus was left alone, standing like a fool, stunned by Robert's statement, trying to comprehend what had just transpired.
