Volume-1: The Beginning, Chapter-1: Di Tianming

In the small town of Xi'An, surrounded by mountains and greenery, lives a population of around five thousand people.

Some are officials, some are rich merchants, some are patrol guards and the rest are common folks and slaves.

Slaves are people with Slave seals and are commonly called beggars and this story is about one such beggar.

In the slums, located in the northwest part of the Xi'An, lived beggars and in one of the countless dilapidated huts lived a boy.

Currently, he seemed to be sleeping amongst the pile of garbage which smelled like sewers on a hot day.

Slowly, the boys eyes fluttered open as he looked around him with a dazed face.

"W-Where am I? Ah! I remember being at the deck playing with hot chicks. Right, a huge wave hit us out of nowhere, overturning our boat. F*ck! Did I get rescued or something? But this doesn't seem to be an island let alone a hospital. Ew! What is that rotten smell."

Instead of waking up in a hospital with a sexy nurse being the first thing in his sight or on an island with a bunch of naked women who would take him to perform ancient rituals of making life, he was greeted with a pile of shit and garbage.

The rotten smell emitting from them was intense and unbearable.

It was only after 85 blinks of an eye worth of time had passed that he calmed down. Looking at his surrounding, he speculated, "Let's see. Ship wreck, waking up in an unknown place and strange, dirty looking people dressed in tattered clothes. I have definitely transmigrated."

Having read a few novels in his life, he knew what this was but didn't have much knowledge about them and only vaguely knew some deatils.

He tried to get up but as soon as he did, he was electrocuted with a severe pain which assaulted his mind and its source was his left hand and leg. His body was as fragile as twig of a plant and was full of bruises and blood, especially his left side.

He couldn't scream or even let out a muffled groan because of his dry mouth and could only grit his teeth, enduring the pain.

The painful sensation slowly faded away as he breathed heavily, not a ounce of sweat appeared of his body despite how much pain he felt.

"What the f*ck is happening!? This is so painful! F*ck!!!"

He continued to curse in his head but didn't dare to move a single inch of his body, fearing the pain that would assault him again. Due to the intense pain, he remembered his mother, tears started dripping his eyes as wondered how they were doing without him around.

While reminiscing his previous life, he suddenly heard a voice behind him.

"Ah! Little Rascal, did you get roughed-up again? Hahaha, come let me help you."

He turned his head to look back and saw a dirty old beggar smiling at him, show casing his decayed teeth.

The old beggar had head full of dirty white hair and a face full of wrinkles with long a big white beard, looking like a savage. He was dressed in a tattered grey clothing with a gourd hanging at his waist. He had a bowl in his hand as he approached him.

Looking at the old beggar, he subconsciously said, "Old Coot, what are you doing here?"

But he was stunned immediately.

"Huh? Why did I say that? Do I know him? No! This is the first time I am seeing him then, why? How do I know him? I don't recall anything."

The stunned expression of his stunned the old beggar, who in turn smiled and replied, "Well I was going to head back when I saw that Xiao Zhu and his minions asking around for you, just wanted to check on you but damn, they did a good job I must say."

"Come, here."

"Ah! Ah! It hurts! Ah! Be gentle!"

The old beggar helped the boy stand up as he shouted in pain. The nearby beggars glanced over before minding their own business as this was a common occurrence.

"Look at you moaning like a whore now be a man, will you! These wounds aren't even that serious and you start doing 'Ah! Ah! Ah! Be gentle!'. Hah!"

The old beggar mocked him for shouting in pain.

"Wu Wu, you old bastard! Little wounds? My left side has turned blue and I have been bleeding here and there and you say that they aren't serious!? F*ck you! ...Just what in the world is happening to me!?"

The boy's lips twitched violently as he endured the pain and kept himself from shouting, tears and snot dripped down his face as he bit his lips.

The duo slowly disappeared into the horizon, under the drowning sun.

Below the starry sky, under the moonlight, both of them reached a dilapidated hut.

Thud!

The old man proceeded to push open the broken door which felt on the ground. Ignoring the door, the old man gently laid the boy on the ground and slowly muttered, "Now, don't make any noise and let me sleep."

With that said the old beggar went to sleep too.

An old and a young beggar went sleeping side by side. However, unlike the old beggar who was sound as sleep, the young beggar's eyes were bloodlust.

"This old coot, how can he be snoring so loudly. Ah! I am so exhausted yet I can't even sleep."

The boy sighed in annoyance as his mind drifted into the memory lane.

Suddenly, he saw a spark of light flash followed by a transparent panel with white text to appear in front of his eyes.

Looking at the two notification and then a holographic panel appearing and floating in front of him, he couldn't help but get stunned, his eyes widened in shock.

"What is this!? Level-up System? Cultivation? Mortal? What is this? Wait...Don't tell me, is this- OH! MY! GOD! HAHAHA!"

"Shut your mouth brat! Have gone mad from all that beating!?", the old man was jolted awake from Di Tianming's sudden burst of laughter and cursed loudly.

Di Tianming immediately quietened down. However, his inner self was running wild, his breathing was raging crazily while his hearted was trembling in excitement.

In his previous life, he was called Ying Xuan. A second generation rich with an out of control and naive personality. After encountering a ship wreck, his soul travelled to this world and now here he was with a destiny unknown.

A world full of mythical figures who reign supreme over countless.

A world where strong ruled over weak, a world of dangers and opportunities.

He was excited and now, was looking forward to the future. A new beginning.

Perhaps it was due to his excitement or due to his exhaustion, his eyelids felt heavy as he fell asleep. Unaware of the adventures ahead of him.
