When life's being bitchy, it will 'eff you over. Who would have thought that when I, the Captain of the country's Special Forces, woke up after reading a recommended historical romance fantasy novel; I'd end up in the novel itself. Blah! Talk about cliché! Seriously though, it was fine that I ended up in a novel. But why do I have to end up as the third-rate villainess/ bro-con lady Celestine von Trier? It was fine as well, being all that. But why is it that I'm fated to die a pathetic death by choking on a cookie? The injustice! The audacity! The... the...stupidity... I refuse! I will run away from this ridiculous mumbo jumbo. I am the master of my own fate! Plot be damned. Let the Operation: Great Escape commence!

Chapter 1I Woke Up Like This

I have always been branded as one of the guys, a tomboy, and even a man lady ever since I could remember. Probably because I'm built like one. A tall, muscular, buff body coupled with an angular face and fierce phoenix eyes. I was a far cry from those gentle, feminine types as soft as water. I like to brand myself as valiant and heroic, though.

Well, for one, because I am, and second, because these features of mine led me to the best decision I have made.

My name is Bai Feng Jiu. Yep. It's the same as that nine-tailed red fox in that particular drama. And I am the current captain of the Special Forces of Country Z. It is a tough life in the military. However, for an orphan like me, it is the best place to be. It is where I found my family.

Family. Hmm. Yep, they are the only family that I have. What about creating my own? Nah. I scare off the guys half the time. Err... All the time, actually. After all, it is rare for men to prefer women who are even more masculine than they are. Something about them feeling emasculated or whatever bullshit that is. Which is freaking lame, if you ask me. So, frankly, I just gave up on that. If it comes, it will. If not, then I could still work with that too.

Although I may be a skeptic of my personal lifelong happiness, that doesn't mean that I hate romance. Au contraire, dear readers, I love romance: dramas, comedies, films, and novels. I love them all. I'm a masochist who loves getting served dog food. Ha ha ha.

An excellent romantic tale could change a person's life.

And guess what? It changed my life from a structured and organized militaristic lifestyle to something totally bonkers and beyond my wildest imagination.

Okay. It may not be bonkers. It's more like totally cliché and typical. Still slightly bonkers. But it's definitely unrealistic.

It all started on my holiday. A forced holiday. My superior gave me an absolute order to take a few days off. Why? He said that seeing my dedicated self spending every waking moment doing missions outside or duties on the base was making him question his work ethic. And that he thought it was time that I had a life. Though I know that old geezer meant well, I was still pretty miffed about it. The military was MY LIFE, okay?

What's more, before I could even work my way out of that order, my team hauled my ass off to an island resort leaving in their wake the commander-in-chief's threat of recalling my firearms if I left earlier than the end of my holiday. Heh. They are a bunch of gutsy rascals colluding with an old geezer. I may not be able to touch the chief, but I could still make them question their life decisions once I get back. At least, that was what I thought at that time.

The island resort was great, but I tried out all it had to offer on the first day. I decided to stay in the hotel room the next day. And voila! Boredom at its finest.

I was in the throes of slouching on the soft bed, munching on tropical fruits served by the hotel, and contemplating life as I scrolled through my smartphone. It was then that I saw a web novel recommendation on my reader app.

The Princess Knight's Rival. It was the story of Princess Adelaide von Resse, a princess who walked the path of a magic knight and supported her wise and righteous brother in becoming the Emperor. Aside from the political struggle aspect of the story, her hardships as a magic knight and the ambiguous relationship between her and the heir apparent of House Trier, Carlisle von Trier.

The novel was chill. No heavy drama and loaded with romance. It was hilarious as well. It was immersive. Totally my type of reading. So, expectedly, I ended up reading all of it throughout my vacation.

The ending was still vivid in my mind.

[Adelaide gazed at Carlisle and their son with an amused look. She never expected that the man she previously could not stand seeing would become someone she could not live without. The world was a strange place, alright. And love was even more so.]

It was such a great ending that I even got teary-eyed. With a content sigh, I closed my eyes to sleep.

'Hah. It's not just the world that is strange. Life. Life itself is strange.'

Those were my bumbling thoughts as I drifted off to dreamland, expecting that the next day, I'd be able to beat up those rascals back at the base.

Except I wouldn't be able to. Why, you might wonder.

It is because I woke up like this. Completely different from where I was and who I was.

Two people with secrets to keep, identities to hide, and answers to find. When the certain darkness threatens to take Oriana away, will the Dragon be able to protect his mate? ----- Excerpt- “If I knew you were my betrothed, I would have killed you the very first moment we met." Arlan's gaze darkened with hatred. “If I knew I was betrothed to you, I would have killed myself before you even killed me!” Oriana mirrored the same emotions as him. He pulled out a dagger and offered it to her. “It’s not too late. Just slit your throat with this and you'll bleed out painlessly.” She accepted the knife, her fingers clutching its handle tightly. The next moment, he was pressed against the wall and the knife was on the right side of his neck. “How about I try it on you first, my betrothed?” “Feel free to try. But when you fail, this knife will first taste your grandpa's blood, then yours.” Anger rose in her eyes, and the next moment, blood was flowing through the right side of his neck. She cut deep enough to severe an important blood vessel. “You should not have challenged me,” she sneered and stepped back, waiting for him to collapse. He simply smirked and brushed his finger along the deep wound on his neck. “Seems like you failed.” She watched the wound on his neck heal on its own and felt shocked to her bones. “You.. what are you?” “Guess?” ----- Instagram- mynovel.20 Facebook- Author mynoveltwenty

But her plan is quick to catch fire from the moment the eyes of Roman Moltenore from senior year lands on her. And his appearance screams nothing but TROUBLE. "What rules?" Julianne asked with a frown as she read through the page. She was sure she hadn't seen any rules of the campus mentioned on their website. # 4. No using cell phones. # 12. Students should not roam outside the campus after eleven in the night. The further she read, the more bizarre it turned out to be. Her friend turned the page and then pointed at the last rule # 29. Listen to Roman Moltenore. "This is made up. Look, the last one is even written in pencil." Julianne couldn't believe that her friend from the next dorm thought she would fall for it. "And no phone?" "It is important you abide by all the rules. Especially number twenty nine," said the girl in a serious tone. "Remember not to get involved with Roman. If you happened to see him, run in the other direction. There is a reason why it is written down here." With the rules of the campus, she resorts to sending handwritten letters to her uncle. But who knew it would end up in someone else’s hand!

Defy The Alpha(s)

Two centuries after the Great War, peace between humans and werewolves was finally achieved, or so everyone believes. Werewolves reign like gods, and humans remain blissfully unaware of their true place in the new world order. To maintain this fragile balance, each year, a handful of "lucky" humans are selected from various districts to attend Lunaris Academy, a prestigious institution that promises glory, status, and a chance to mingle with the elite. Those chosen are hailed as the lucky few, destined to marry powerful alphas and rise as luna. This year, Violet Purple is among the chosen, much to everyone's surprise. For an orphaned girl adopted by a disgraced prostitute, this is a golden ticket to a better life or so she's told. But Lunaris Academy isn’t the paradise it’s painted to be. Everything Violet and her fellow humans have been taught is a lie. Humans are far from equal; they're pawns in a much larger game. The academy is nothing but a gilded cage, and the students are lambs led to slaughter, playthings for the alphas to toy with in their ruthless games. To make matters worse, Violet catches the attention of the most dangerous players in this game, the Terror Four: the Alpha of the North, Alpha of the South, Alpha of the East, and Alpha of the West. Each one is more dangerous, more twisted, and more powerful than the last. But even among themselves, the alphas are divided, each with their own deadly ambitions. Yet, they all have their eyes on her. They expect Violet to play along, to fall in line like the others who worship at their feet, to break under their games. But Violet isn’t like the others. She refuses to bow. She’ll defy them all. *********** With a grin that made her uneasy, he handed the application to her. “Approve this one.” Principal Jameson’s curiosity got the better of her as she took the paper from him, her eyes scanning the text. Almost immediately, her breath caught in her throat, her eyes widening in disbelief. “What the...?” “It’s perfect, isn’t it?” Asher’s voice was almost gleeful. Fucking psychopath! Jameson could hardly believe what she was reading. “Mr. Nightshade, with all due respect, this applicant….this girl just admitted to—” She couldn’t even finish the sentence, still horrified at the explicit nature of the application. Taking a deep breath, she continued, “I’m sorry, but I cannot approve this.” “She’s issued me a challenge,” Archer said, a dark gleam in his eyes. “What?” “‘Wait till you see me in bed,’” he repeated the bold line from the application, his grin widening. “And I can’t wait to find out.” “Mr. Nightshade—” He stood up, cutting off her protest as he fixed her with an intense stare. “Approve the application. I won’t ask again.” Without waiting for her response, Asher strode out of the office, confident she would follow his orders. He always got what he wanted. Archer Nightshade walked down the hall, a spring in his step. For the first time in a long while, he felt alive, his blood pulsing with excitement. The other Cardinal Alphas had no idea what he was up to, but it would soon hit them. He’d just set the game in motion. And the target was Violet Purple. It was game on. Note : This is not your average werewolf story. Eveything you think you know about werewolves would be challenged in this book. And yes, it is reverse harem. Do give the book a try.

The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system

[Sweet, satisfying, pampering, lots of face slapping.] Zhang Caishen's era had come to an end and he could never rise again, or so they said. But why did he seem to be getting richer and more powerful even if he was now crippled and abandoned by his betrothed? Why was he suddenly so unnaturally lucky? The answer was simple; his new wife!! Lin Alix was not lucky when it came to her family. She was the older, less loved and less talented one in comparison to her younger sister who stole everything from her. But fate intervened and she got lucky when it came to a husband, not only was he wealthy but he loved to spoil her. Suggested by her infinite luck gaming system, Alix married her sister's unwanted crippled husband to be and stepped on the path of a winner in life. She swept up music awards, gained international recognition and got her revenge on her cruel family while becoming Beijing's most envious wife. "Are you crazy, you willingly married a crippled man?" her friends asked. "Yes, but have you seen how much he pampers me?" she asked in turn. "She will cheat on him, he is a cripple and he can't perform his husbandly duties." others gossiped. Alix looked at the so called crippled man who climbed into her bed night after night and laughed. Sorry, he was more than capable. "Honey, I am here to perform my husbandly duties." he would always say coquettishly when he flipped her over.
