In this book, we follow the journey of Benjamin, a 10-year-old child who lives on a planet once used for mining, and which is now abandoned. He is about to discover his unique power upon awakening, a rite of passage for all children in this universe. He meets Gerubael, another child his age, on his bus ride to the recovery center.
