A Demon lord evolution

.

996 GBC, Tempest, Farmus Army Camp~

.

Rimuru floated above the Farmus's camp, his expression sombre behind his mask. Countless water-like droplets floated around him, covering the whole sky and camp below.

"What? What is this?"

"What are these water droplets?"

The soldier's confused voice reached Rimuru's ears but he ignored them prompting to focus on what matters, his subordinates and the fact he still hasn't reached the necessary soul count for the evolution.

"So it wasn't enough, huh?" He sighed as Benimaru's voice rang in his ears.

*Rimuru-sama, the magic devices in all directions have been successfully destroyed with no casualties*

"Alright, well done. Go to the town square and help Myulan and Shuna." Rimuru instructed.

*Understood* With that Benimaru's voice faded.

'You guys have done a good job.' Rimuru thought. 'Now all that left is to do mine.'

"Those who invaded my territory, prepare to pay the cost with your lives!!!" Rimuru's voice rang throughout the camp, making every soldier anxiously look around.

Rimuru didn't care about their anxiousness and continued. "May the anger of the gods sear through your very souls! [MEGIDDO!]"

As his words fell hundreds of beams of light fired from the slim discs beside him, colliding and reflecting from the water droplets. Taking hundreds of lives on each reflection

"What is this?!"

"What's happening?!"

"No!!!"

Cries of despair reached Rimuru as he watched the army of Farmus kingdom's short but excruciatingly long nightmare began.

And exactly four minutes and thirty seven seconds later it ended leaving behind only one survivor.

Rimuru flew towards the crawling soldier, picking up the neckless the soldier was trying to desperately reach.

"P… please…! Spare Min…" the soldier struggled to speak, struggled to beg for his life knowing his folly but then suddenly his face flashed with determination.

"Please spare the lives of my children!" The soldier changed his words unknowingly prolonging his life.

Seeing Rimuru not do anything, the soldier gathered his courage and continued.

"I knew exactly what the incursion was and yet, I participated. I was in the wrong but… but my children… they know nothing."

"Speak no more." The soldier immediately quieten at those words.

Rimuru walked up to him under the soldier's bathed breath, he dropped down to the soldier level, placing his necklace in his hand before whispering words of reassurance.

Rimuru backed away, firing a beam at his… enemy… but before it could land Kal appeared before the soldier and backhanded the attack.

"Let this one be a witness, a warning to people who cross you in foreseeable future," Kal spoke standing before the man.

Rimuru stared Kal for a good minute before replying with a chilling tone. "So be it."

Though Rimuru said it with coldness, his clenched fist relaxed as he turned and moved away.

'Thank you, Kal.' Rimuru silently thanked his friend, a smile tugging his lips unseen to anyone.

Rimuru did not want to kill the man, he did not want to orphan his children, but he knew he couldn't show mercy. He has to show his enemies that he's not a soft person, to show he's not weak. He wants his enemies to know how cruel he can be. And what price they need to pay if they failed to kill him. He want them to them think twice before attacking his nation ever again.

But, despite knowing all that, it wasn't easy to kill that soldier. He was ready to carry the guilt but it seems Kal saw through him. Good thing his fifty different visions aren't as blinding as Hakurou said them to be.

Rimuru shook his head with a smile tugging his masked before heading towards the leader of Famus's army, very soon he found and subdued them, cutting off the hand of the buffoon king.

With one last attack, he killed the remaining army.

*All requirements for the Demonlord evolution are met. The Harvest Festival will now commence.*

"Oh… no…" Rimuru muttered feeling his eyes getting heavy. "So… slee.. py…"

*Notice, the number of souls exceeds the required number. Transferring extra souls to the closest not affiliated allied being. Target found! All souls transferred to individual Kal-El. Harvest festival will commence now.*

'Agh… it's so much worse than my usual sleep mode. Good thing I killed everyone.' Rimuru thought relieved.

*Report! Five survivors have been detected with [Magic Sense]*

"What?" Rimuru muttered. He tried to think but not much came to his mind.

"I need to stop this sleepiness, I can't sleep here."

*It is not possible! Harvest Festival cannot be halted once started.* Great sage chimed making Rimuru groan.

"Kal!" Rimuru called loudly and a second later Kal appeared with a gust of wind.

"Kal, protect me." Rimuru said making Kal nod.

"Great Sage dispel the Anti-Magic barrier and summon someone to take out those survivors." He continued.

Great Sage dispelled the barrier before a magic circle covered the whole area. Three Demons materialised from the circle, kneeling before Rimuru.

"Please take care of the survivors," Rimuru instructed, not even letting the three talk.

'This is my limit, Ranga!' Rimuru's trusted wolf splunged from his shadow and broke into a sprint carrying him on his back. Kal closely followed behind, a bit thankful to Rimuru for not asking him to kill the survivors.

Though he was not aware, it was the first thought that popped into Rimuru's head but he declined it. Not wanting to force Kal to kill someone, knowing how much he disliked the idea.

*Report!* Akashic Record's words sounded throughout the Tempest, reaching every living soul.

*Individual Rimuru Tempest's Demonlord evolution will begin. Monsters in his genealogy will begin to receive their gifts.*

"What is this?"

"This is… the voice of the world?"

"Akashic Record?" A chorus of awed voices left the people of Tempest before they realised what it meant.

"Rimuru-sama did it…" The moment the realisation settled they rejoiced before Benimaru's stopped them.

"Stop! Now's not the time, we must focus on protecting Rimuru-sama."

The people of Tempest nodded fiercely before getting up and looking outside the city gate.

Soon visage of Kal and Ranga carrying Rimuru become visible.

They parted away, creating a straight path to Shuna who sat on the foot of a throne.

Shuna took Rimuru from Ranga, holding close to her and whispering. "You're safe…" she said before placing Rimuru on the throne.

Once he was on the throne, people of Tempest surrounded him creating a protective circle around him.

"I'll take the sky," Kal said to Benimaru who nodded, knowing about his impressive vision.

Kal took the sky floating a dozen meters above Rimuru, his eyes shifting to different visions, throughly and cautiously scanning everything in the vicinity despite knowing nothing would happen.

As Kal scanned the surroundings he felt the sudden shift in Magicules, looking down he saw the people surrounding Rimuru start falling one by one.

Soon they fell unconscious, the last one being Benimaru who only went down when Kal nodded to him in reassurance.

The moment they all became unconscious, Rimuru woke up, his presence different, tinged with a mechanical feel.

Kal saw the mage girl try to question Rimuru and flew to stop her, not wanting her to disturb Raphael.

After stopping the girl he carefully watched as Raphael manipulated massive amounts of Magicules, condensing it in her fist.

At that point, Raphael stopped. Realising what was wrong Kal offered.

"You can take my solar energy if it can replace life force." Raphael's head turned towards Kal, her red eyes shown brightly as she analysed if the solar energy could be converted.

"It is not possible," Raphael answered just as she was going to continue and sacrifice Rimuru's life force, the three demons landed.

The future named demon Diablo offered to sacrifice the two demons which Raphael accepted. She then proceeded to extract all the Magicules and life force from them before merging it with the Magicule in her fist.

Once done she proceeded to use the Secret Art of Ressurection.

The process went smoothly under Rapheal's control. She used the massive Magicule to heal the collected soul particles and bodies of the resurrection art's target. Once healing was done Raphael carefully bound the souls back to their collective body. Ending the process just in time for the sleep mode to take over Rimuru's body.
