Kara Cahill (The White Wolf)

She had to keep her true identity hidden and trust only a few people. But some secrets are always meant to be revealed, some fates are not meant to be changed. Can Kara Cahill accept her fate and let the prophecy run its course? ■■■ Out of the woods, wolves emerged, snarling and growling. Kara sighed. "Without knowing who I am, she made this move. I wonder how it would be if she knew who I truly was." She whispered to Klaus and stepped out. The snarling wolves' sound covered whatever she was saying so she couldn't be heard.. "You will not treat me like a fragile glass." He nodded but grabbed her hand first and said, "I've seen what you can do. Changing into a wolf partly. You will teach me when this is over." Nodding she replied. "Okay. But you'll tell me about anybody who is a somebody in the pack and out." "Deal, now let's kick some wolf butts." He grinned and they were back-to-back. The first wolf attacked and Kara slammed her arm into its jaw. It bite her and drew blood. "No more nice new girl." Her eyes flashed white for a second and she attacked. Her speed could not be matched and the onlookers couldnt look away. She slammed jaws and her nails left marks on the faces of some of the wolves. She was a sight on the field. Careful not to kill anyone, Kara pushed the last person the the ground and stood snarling. Klaus howled and patted her on the back. "Mad skills you got." His smile was wide as his eyes twinkled. Mara clapped dramatically and narrowed her yes at Kara. She sneered. "I agree, you can move... against amateurs."

Kara of the Northern Clan

Well Kara was about to die, she almost scoffed at the thought. She was starting to feel numb and see things.

"They should open the door soon, they can't have you dying and breaking their promise." Her reflection said, blowing her nails.

Kara blinked several times and looked again, it was back to normal. She dragged her body back to the door and feebly knocked. She turned and rested her back against the door.

"Hera?" She asked her reflection. No response.

She looked horrible. Her eyelashes were white and her lips were blue. The right side of her hair was white while the other was black. She almost chuckled. How would anyone see her and think she was normal? Or did they think she carried hair dye around? Her blue eyes seemed to be turning white or was it her imagination?

She wanted to go home. To be back at the orphanage with the kids bothering her and Mrs Humphrey knitting away in her rocking chair. She would take all that over this. Her supposed family didn't even want to see her anyway.

The rage came after the thought. Why did they bring her into all this if they didn't want to see her? Her step brother clearly showed that a person is only intriguing when you first meet the person. Was her father not curious to see her? Her mother? Her uncle gets to see and torture her but her own mother doesn't deem her fit for seeing. Damn them all.

Kara clenched her fist slowly on her chest. She couldn't even feel the tears coming out, she could only see it in her reflection. Pathetic. Could they not see that she was alone? That she would give anything to have someone hug her genuinely and be her person. She laid on the ground and curled her body.

That was how they met her. White hair and frozen tears on her cheeks. Ryker wrapped a blanket around her and carried her out. He took her to her room and got lit lanterns around her. She was unconscious.

Reginald stood by the door and stared at her solemnly while Ryker places a warm towel on her.

"Are you trying to kill her?" Ryker asked, trying to keep the anger from his voice.

Reginald leaned on the door frame and closed his eyes. "We only have a few days till the school resumes and things get out of control."

"That gives you no right to..." Ryker turned with a glare and caught Reginald's sad expression.

"Do you think I enjoy this?" He shot back, then sighed. "Kara is not weak, but we need her to get stronger than this. She'll persevere."

"Get out."

They turned in shock and found Kara glaring at them. She was clenching her bedsheet in a death grip, her chest rising and falling.

"Get out both of you."

She hadn't raised her voice but they had felt it in their bones.

"Do not make me repeat myself."

Her pure white eyes promised consequences if she wasn't obeyed. Reginald bowed and left. Ryker hesitated before leaving. He stood outside her door with his head leaning on it. Had he picked the wrong timing to show up?

...

Kara opened her eyes and stared at the ceiling of her room. So she survived… great. A body moving beside her had her head snapping in its direction.

Ryker. He was sitted on the floor with his arms folded and his eyes closed. His steady breathing convinced her that he was asleep. Kara turned her head and kept looking at the ceiling.

"Hello Hera."

Kara/Hera grinned and turned her head to the awake boy. She sat up and stretched.

"I guess nothing gets past you your highness." She mocked with a short bow.

"We meet earlier than expected." He said with a blank expression.

Hera tsked. "You know, for someone trying to win a girl's heart, you are awful at it."

"Why are you here?"

"Too touchy a subject. Okay then." Hera tried to stand up but was pushed down.

Ryker stared into her eyes, his twinkling.

"If I killed you while you are in possession of the body, does it kill both of you or just you?" He cocked his head and smirked.

"Like I said, you are awful at it." She glared at him. "We had a deal, I saved her so you are going to save me."

"You had a deal with Anastasia, I'm not obliged to fulfill it."

Hera grabbed the arm on her shoulder. "Don't you dare. She wouldn't even be here if it weren't for me."

"Service to humanity. Thank you for bringing my mate back to life." Ryker stepped back and sat on the chair with his legs crossed.

"You ungrateful fool."

"I wouldn't get so worked up just yet if I were you, we are still trying to find your body." He tapped his fingers on the arm of the chair, enjoying riling her up.

Hera's lips quivered. "What do you have against me? This is our first encounter."

He said nothing. Hera laughed and sneered.

"You know what? I don't care. You think I'm the evil one, just wait until someone breaks your little mate, you'll see just why she died an hour after her birth."

Ryker stood up abruptly and grabbed her neck.

"Go ahead, I dare you. Remember, this body isn't mine." Hera smirked. "I'll leave you for now. And my body? It's in Deville's land, the cave behind the waterfall."

Ryker let go and stepped back, watching her fall back to the bed. He slammed his fist on the wall and stepped out of the room.

"Relay the message." He said to Ezra's shadow and stormed to the teacher's quarters.

Reginald was sitted by his fireplace, reading a book. His hands shook a bit but he ignored it. He was living longer than he expected. He didn't know how he felt about it.

A knock on the door and the shadow prince stormed in.

"Hera…"

"Is harmless." Reginald finished for him.

He could see the skepticism and anger on the boy's face.

"You shouldn't get so worked up about her. Once we fulfill our end of the deal, we won't have to deal with her again. She goes on her merry way exerting her revenge and you get Kara." Reginald flipped a page in his book.

Ryker walked up to the fireplace.

"It's not that simple is it. She said something about Kara, almost saying she is the greater evil. Does this have something to do with her being brought back?" He sighed and rubbed his ear.

Reginald looked up and stared into the fire. "Who knows… we can't always have the answers. We just follow what fate has decreed."

"That is quiet hypocritical."

Reginald chuckled. "Aren't we all?… (he sighed)… I have a couple of days, a week at most. I'll do the best I can your highness, she is my niece after all."

Ryker nodded. "I know, I apologize about earlier."

"You were worried, that is understandable. Any progress on the body?"

"Just got word, they've found her."

Reginald nodded. "Whatever happens, you go through with it. If they remain in one body longer, they'll become inseparable. We have to do it on the day of her birth."
