There was a small knock on the door and Calder didn't care. He just kept working away. He was surprised when he started to go through the documents that he had a knack for everything.
Like it was ingrained into him and he found solutions with ease. Another knock was heard and Calder sighed. "Come in." He called out without looking up from his desk. "You stood me up." A familiar voice called out.
"Your Majesty, may the grace of Pavani shine onto you and our Kingdom." Calder said as shot straight up and bowed. Esai walked in and closed the door. He made sure it was locked before he walked towards the desk.
"Who are you?" Esai said as he glared at Calder's head. Calder slowly raised his head and looked at Esai quizzically. "Pardon your Majesty?" Calder asked as he locked eyes with Esai.
Esai dropped his head slightly and his face shrouded with darkness. "I want to know who you are?" Esai said in a low, menacing voice. "I am your faithful dog sire." Calder said as he straightened up.
"No you are not!" Esai yelled as he grabbed Calder's shirt and dragged him an inch away from his face. "You are not a dog! You are Calder, my sweet baby brother! Snap out of whatever mind you are in! THAT women is gone! You are free!" Esai yelled.
"I-I-I-I'm free?" Calder asked in a small and child like voice. Esai watched as Calder's facial expression changed, no longer hard and stern but gentle and unsure. A light slowly returned into his eyes and it caused Easi to sigh as he slowly released Calder. "I thought I had to punch you like last time." Esai said with a weary smile. Calder looked at Esai with confusion as he sat down.
"I don't really remember what happened." He said softly as Esia straightened up. "You usually never do." Esai replied as he slowly walked to the couch. "This has happened before?" Calder asked.
Esai let out a small snort as he slumped on to the couch. "For a while it was all you ever had known but that's not your fault. It's THAT woman's." Esai said in a a snarky tone as he leaned back and tossed his head back. "But I'm glad you're back." He sighed as he closed his eyes.
"Esai?" Calder called out. "Mmmh." Esai replied. "So how I act now, how I am talking to you right now, is that how I usually am?" Calder asked. "Without a doubt." Esai said promptly. Calder furrowed his brow and wondered. "Then, then who is THAT woman?" Calder asked. Esai rolled his head and lazily opened his eyes. "Let me ask you something first. If you answer I will answer you." Esai said,
Calder pursed his lips, he wasn't sure what his brother would ask him but he had a bad feeling in his stomach. As he opened his mouth Esai stood up. "We can talk about it another day Calder. I can tell you're not ready for my question anyways." Esai said. He then started to straighten up his clothes, giving Calder a few moments to ponder. When Calder said nothing Esai let out a long sigh.
"You may not believe me but the way you are right now is how you have been since you were old enough to talk." Esai said with a lonely smile. Calder furrowed his brows as he contemplated Esai's words. "Rutley will bring you some leftovers." Esai said softly as he started to make his way to the door. "Big brother?" Calder finally called out. Esai placed his hand on the door handle and waited. His heart was pounding as he waited for Calder to finally open up.
"Thank you for helping me." Calder said sincerely. Esai let out another sigh. "It's the least I can do for my adorable baby brother." Esai said without looking back then left. Calder went silent, he dropped his gaze to the desk and wondered if what Esai said was true. Was he really the same way since birth but that wasn't making any sense to him. A small knock was heard from the door. "Come in." Calder called out.
"I brought dinner." Rutley said as he placed a tray onto the coffee table. Calder didn't respond. "Calder?" Rutley called out. "Rutley I think I'm going mad." Calder said as he laid his head against the desk. "I'd say. You skipped out on dinner with your brother." Rutley said as he uncovered the food. "I've never done that before. I think I've never done that before... I don't remember. It hurts to remember somethings and why did Esai say I'm free." Calder groaned but Rutley said nothing.
"Rutley this is the first time I missed dinner with my brother right?" Calder asked as he lifted his head but Rutley turned stoic and just stood by the table. "Hey this isn't funny Rutley. I'm really worried." Calder said as he stood up but Rutley gave him a blank stare. "Rutley?" Calder called out then a memory surfaced.
A women with fair skin, hair red as blood and lips that matched. She was dressed in elegant clothing and jewels covered ever limb she had. He couldn't see her face but he knew instinctively who she was. She stood behind a young Rutley, wrapping her arms around him. Her face was beside his ear as she caressed Rutley's chest with both hands.
Rutley stood there perfectly still as he looked out into the distance with a blank stare. "You will only belong to me. You will always listen to me, you will always be there to satisfy me so I can in turn satisfy your needs." She said as her right hand slid down Rutley's chest and found the edge of his pants. "So my little shadow cat when that dog asks you..." She said but Calder couldn't hear the rest his mind went blank.
His eyes fluttered as he tried to focus on what was in front of him. Rutley was untop of him, he was sweating as he bit his bottom lip. Blood flowed out as he violently shook. Calder didn't know what was going on but when he looked to his left there was a shinny object close to his throat. "Rutley?" Calder called out in confusion. "Don't talk!" Rutley hissed before he bit down harder on his lip. More blood started to flow out.
