The Tower of...(3)

Shaun jumped backwards, startled by the voice.

He looked back and saw the perpetrator, it was a skinny middle aged man, he had a silver mustache and silver hair that was gelled back smoothly. He had a long face and wore glasses. If one saw him in his youth there was no question he would have been handsome!

He wore a black tuxedo with a purple bowtie and his face held a joyful expression.

Shaun thought of something whilst looking at the man but asked a question to make sure, "Oh my goodness you scared me, who are you?"

"Master Shaun, I am this building's AI, Chaos! Nice to meet you. Do you like the scenery? From when you came in I saw the way you postured yourself to every minute detail that you performed, I captured. From this I concluded your general personality and formed this nice scenery that you seemed to like! Oh shall we proceed with the transfer? Master Shaun why are you not responding?" Chaos said, all in one breath.

Shaun was still processing all this information and couldn't believe what the AI was doing behind the scenes.

And all this talking was making Shaun regret making his personality this way.

Truth be told Shaun only designed his personality like this because he wanted an AI that could give him valid input instead of being passive and submissive.

Once Shaun had gained his bearings he exchanged pleasantries with Chaos, which took longer than he expected as Chaos kept straying of topic.

"Ok now we can start doing this. Can you please tell me how this process works?" Shaun said, trying to get something done.

Chaos reciprocated by giving him the relevant information.

All Shaun had to do was think about specific information in his mind and pass it to the AI. The touchless was a mediator between the two but even if it tried it could not read the information retained in the memory due to it's subpar processing power.

These AI's were different from Cloud, a quantum computer. These AI's were 'MIC' AI's.

MIC stands for:

Memory. Information. Calculation.

Quantum computers are special computers that are designed to be something like a god for computers. They have better processing power, reaction speed and calculation abilities.

They normally do not have personalities but Cloud is a very special case.

MIC AI's are AI's designed as an upgraded brain. They are essentially mechanical brains but are functioning computers.

They work in the sense that you can 'make' a personality that is found in their database but also their abilities to read, store and project memories.

They can replicate the signals that a brain makes and read them like a textbook, slowly gathering the specific targeted information requested. Though this sounds great and could be essential in wars, but you can only use it with the consent of the party you are using it on as they need to concentrate on the memory for the AI's to be able to find it due to unknown factors.

Once learning of this AI's capabilities Era had cordoned off the research and branded it a taboo in the company, the researchers of the tech 'disappearing'!

They destroyed all records and brushed all information about it under the carpet though they had made 3 functioning one by the time they realised the power his thing had.

So...they might have disposed of them by giving it to some young adults as a 'gift'.

The calculation ability of the AI is subpar compared to a quantum computer but works similar to a humans calculation ability.

In a way it is much better than a quantum computer and a human brain as it has the freedom of imagination that humans have and the calculation ability of a computer!

Shaun knew he had to get out of this dream-like state so he transferred all the information he needed to whilst adding something a little extra as well.

That's right, Shaun added the Information that he got from his Talents.

Yes all of them.

And something he came across in his past life

Shaun, after coming from Era's headquarters has had the chance to use his Talents at any time. He just did not have the time too. Though he wanted to, something told him that if he tried without practice he would either get a really bad backlash or destroy a lot of things.

It wasn't his common sense telling him that, it was his primal instinct.

As a human, it wasn't very prominent but once his bloodline was stimulated, his raw instinct had started to slowly become more and more prominent.

Back when he was choosing people for the Guild, he knew that the people in his last life were going to be strong but there was no impulse or desire for them in him. But once he met the twins and Andreas, he felt a budding desire for them. Like they were always supposed to be his and he should take them!

His reasoning for his decision was that he didn't have one. It was just a hunch.

Once he realised a few things about his Talents he also wondered that if such things could be done in reality then why not in the game?

This was also, just a hunch.

The something extra he added was something he found in his past life. It was a black book.

The black book was thin, dusty and only held one page. It was barely passable to call it a book.

But just that one page was enough.

He had read the books contents and he had gotten a deeper understanding of dagger arts in particular.

The pages contents were made for violence.

Or so he interpreted.

He read through the book with his guild mates and the end result was that each of them got extremely skilled in one weapon.

For Shaun it was daggers.

For Francis Dove it was spear arts.

For Kyle it was axe arts.

They all had a different epiphany when reading the same paragraph of text.

Though that wasn't very true. They all only comprehended the first line of text.

Well, that wasn't true either.

Shaun comprehended that line of text and told them what he thought and they eventually did too.

They were all astonished at these series of events so they started to fear the book an they got paranoid the owner was going to come back and get their book back.

They did not want to disrespect the owner of this book so they just referred to the book as the Nameless book.

(A/N: I'll post the text in the auxiliary section)

This paranoia was the catalyst that caused their friendship to crumble and betrayal was put onto the table.

Once they stopped worrying about the owner greed was the only thing left in there brains.

Well, all except Shaun.

Though they could not put into practice what they had learned in the book due to their lacking physical constitution they could not form the arts in the real world.

But in the game, that was a different story.

These self taught arts were what gave them their classes and attracted attention to them.

It was also what caused these once casual players to become serious.

They all decided to burn the book and they had all sworn to keep that secret to the grave.

Shaun had a feeling that that paragraph could make their guild special.

After transferring all the information Shaun then asked Chaos to do something extremely odd and perplexing.

"Chaos, i would like you to sort out all of this information into once this is done I'd like you to…"

After a few minutes of explaining…

Chaos after receiving the information revealed a scheming grin, understanding Shaun's intentions, "I understand Master Shaun, may I disconnect with you so I can move onto Master Dan?"

"Very well, talk to you later Chaos!" Shaun saved goodbye to Chaos and returned back from his dream-like state.

=====

All he felt was weightlessness and all he saw was darkness.

Soon enough he saw a tiny spec of light, this light resembled a golden sun finally gracing itself upon the mortal world in the form of a sunrise. It slowly grew bigger and bigger.

This sun compelled Shaun to get closer but all Shaun could do was watch as if he was paralyzed.

And then he abruptly hit the ground
