Chapter 1

TYLER'S POV

"You sure do wake up late these days," my cousin Jack says sitting down at the dining table having breakfast with my mom and Mila my older sister.

"Well,I slept late last night," I reply taking a seat at the dining table next to my mom.

"And you sure do come home late these days..." My mom says in a disapproving tone, she stares at me and she says, "You know you're engaged right?"

here we go again, she's always lecturing me about coming home late.

I check my phone for texts before replying to my mom, "Yeah I know, but it doesn't mean I can't hang out with my friends," I reply, taking a bite off my sandwich, "And Plenty of times when I stay up until midnight I'm with Valerie".

Mila Just stares at me for a few seconds.

"It also doesn't mean we need to stop choosing our friends wisely."

She is referring to one of my friends Jordan. But Jordan and Valerie are just friends. I admit sometimes I feel like a third wheel when I'm around them, cause they're always flirting with each other, but I trust Jordan he would never do anything stupid.

But I don't trust Valerie, well not a 100 percent, cause she's cheated a few times in the past. But we went past that, we talked and now we're back together.

well we had to get back together, cause we made a promise to my grandmother that we'll get married no matter what, before she died.

"Don't you think something is up with him?" She continues, the way he acts when he's around your girlfriend?" Mila says.

Ahhh, here we go again, about the same thing again. Damnit Mila, I'm starting to think you're obsessed with him.

Mila is always talking about, how my friendship with Jordan is going to mess up my engagement with Valerie. But as I said I trust that guy he's one of my best friends.

Yeah Valerie has cheated on me a few times but that was before we had feelings for each other, I don't believe she would do it again, she told me she loved me.

Talk about being engaged my Fiancee hasn't called me back or replied to my texts in 2 days,which is strange cause she always does. Anyways she's busy this week, i wouldn't want to bother her, she'll call me back when she's got the time.

I finish eating my breakfast, I go to my room.

Without Valerie life is boring, so I just go back to bed.

"Maybe I should surprise her! Pay her a visit," I say to myself. Seeing that she works at home, she won't mind.

I jump out of bed and I change my clothes.

"Alright I'm going out to see Valerie!" I say walking out of the house.

Mila and Jack are sitting on the couch, watching TV.

I'm surprised those two get along at all these days. Jack is my mom's sister's son. She past away a few years back and he's been living with us ever since.

Oops I almost forgot something.

"Jack, think you can take care of things at the office for me?....I know you can!"

When I'm busy jack always attends my meetings for me. I get in my ferrari and drive off to Valerie's house.

I arrive at Valerie's house, I notice that her car is packed outside, but there is a white BMW here. Strange she doesn't own a BMW. Well maybe she bought it. Or maybe a friend is here.

I use the key that she gave me to get inside the house. when we get married we're going to move in to an even bigger house than this.

Thinking about the future with Valerie gives me happiness.

I walk up the stairs to her room. Maybe I should've knocked she hates it when I use my key to enter her house.

As I'm getting closer to her room, I can hear giggling in her room "You're amazing," Valerie says from her room.

Who's here with her Her friends? maybe she's talking on the phone.

I decide to knock first before going in to her room, but I hear a male voice.

What the what?

I grab the door knob to open her bedroom door "You're not bad yourself gorgeous, you want to go again?" he laughs.

I open the door as quietly as I can. And what the fuck! My fiance is on bed fucking with Jordan my best friend.

"What the hell?!!!" I yell in shock, they stop and they all look at me, they look surprised.

"Valerie, what the hell is going on, really again?" I can feel a sudden onset of anger, and I just can't believe what I'm seeing. Valerie just looks at me with a guilty face, while jordan decides to keep laying on the bed as if it's nothing.

Valerie puts on a t-shirt shame written on her face, she starts to walk to me.

Jordan is still laying on the bed just looking at me, like it's nothing

I scowl at them both for a few moments before slamming the door behind me and making my way out of the house.

"Tyler wait!" Valerie says running after me, wearing only a t-shirt, "Tyler I'm sorry, look can we- can we just talk about this?"

I get downstairs and I throw the keys she gave me on the sofa as I walk out the door ignoring her. I get in my car and leave.

So this is how she decides to do me again? She's always doing that to me.

She's always cheating, and I always forgive her but not this time.

Arrive at home, I enter the house. I take a seat next to Mila who is on her phone , "Bye, Stacey I'll call you back," she hungs up her phone, "Back already?" She looks at me, and notices something is wrong, "What's wrong? Did you and Valerie fight again?" Sounding concerned, she moves closer to me.

I look at her, "You were right, about Jordan....." I reply leaning my back on the sofa, "Amy and Jordan they have....."

-"Been sleeping together? I know, and they started a long time ago. I warned you about that guy," she says interrupting me before I could finish what I was saying

"Wait you knew? You knew all along and you never told me!?" i shout "I'm going to my room!"

She knew it all along and she never told me? What the fuck!

I enter my bedroom slamming the door behind me in anger feeling like I want to punch something or someone

I really thought Valerie had changed this time.

"Hey Tyler are you there?" Jack knocks at my bedroom door.

"What do you want Jack?" I ask laying on my bed, "You knew too, didn't you? I must be the stupidest person, I mean how could I have not known,the way they acted around each other at My 20th Birthday....." I say, chuckling with tears starting to run down my face, "I can't believe she would do that to me, and with my best friend?" I continue wiping the tears on my face.

"I'm sorry about that buddy, can you let me in?" Jack asks still standing outside my bedroom.

"No just...I need to be alone!" I reply laying on the bed, I use my left hand to grab a picture of me and Valerie, and I burn the photo using my pyro kinetic ability.

"Well once a cheater always a cheater," I softly say to myself. This is the sixth time she's cheated on me. The last time she told me she'll change, and I actually believed her cause none of us wanted this engagement thing in the first place. Neither me nor Valerie wanted it, we only got engaged cause of my late Grandmother, before she died she made us promise, that we would get married no matter what.

In time we started liking each other, and fell in love with each other....well I did,I fell in love with her.

And now I'm paying the price for it, I wish I never opened up to her.
