Heavenly Mystic Domain: Inner Sector (2)

Out of the seven, one, in particular, seemed to be extremely aggressive. He had a scar from his left brow to his right cheek across his nose bridge. His spiky red hair and cold brown eyes only added to this aggressive demeanor.

"City Lord... Explain to me once more why we bothered to bring soo much waste with us...?" His rough voice sharply resounded in the pilothouse as the City Lord lightly smiled.

"In the Inner Sector, there're many unknowns, it's good to have some useful pawns to take the fall in case there is to be an unknown situation... or, do you, Xavier, want to be the one to be sacrificed if we enter a life and death situation?!"

THRUM!

Xavier's brown eyes shrank as his body unknowingly trembled under the tremendous pressure the City Lord released from a mere glare.

It was well known that the City Lord was a weird fellow, going from a calm and easygoing person to capable of snapping at any given moment, and Xavier rather not test his luck.

Cupping his fist, Xavier closed his eyes and slightly bowed, "No Sir!" He said, trying to remain calm as he replied to the lord's question. Yes, he needed to reply, if not, well, the city lord would use him as a sacrifice.

If not for said city lord's immense strength, of course, Xavier wouldn't take this embarrassment but among even other Pseudo Profound Immortals, the city lord was a monster among them.

'Plus, the reward for this trip to the Inner Sector was very good. The city lord did make an oath to the Cosmic Will, so there isn't a chance of him lying anyway!' Xavier thought but...

BOOM!!

...

...

A massive booming sound reverberated throughout the multi-kilometer-sized flying ship as all the Profound Immortals, and Oblivion were momentarily left shaking. The magnitude of the explosion left their ears ringing for a few seconds...

"Only beings at the Golden Immortals should be able to break this barrier, hence why Profound Immortals like yourselves have been left in such a state."

The calm voice of the City Lord resounded in each room inside this ship as all the cultivators breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing his words.

"Hmm... so this is the power of one who has the title 'Golden Immortal' Oblivion thoughts churned as his eyes showed wanting. Said explosion, just its shockwaves rendered him useless for a few seconds and even threw him off balance.

He didn't know how far he was away from gaining such strength yet, he was excited for the first time in a while. With such strength, things would be much easier but...

'It'll be very hard to reach this level before the closing of the Heavenly Mystic Domain... after all, according to the City Lord, there are only 1,820 years before it closes.' Oblivion thought while replaying the words of the city lord in his mind.

'With the ability to devour others, such an amount of time... it would be child's play to reach that level but now...' A disappointed sigh escaped his lips while reaching this point.

One million years... To the mortal mind, this would be an unimaginable amount of time but to cultivators, especially Immortal realm cultivators, it could pass in the blink of an eye yet, inside the Heavenly Mystic Domain, if one was lucky to enter it as soon as it opened, then they'll have exactly one million years of opportunities to increase their cultivation!

After one million years, it didn't matter if you entered the Heavenly Mystic Domain at a later date, with a mere millennia left, you'll still be booted out when it's the time for this realm to close.

When he thought of this, Oblivion smirked as something else entered his mind but he didn't spend much time on the thought.

The sight of an uncountable number of floating islands just entered his eyes and took his breath away. Each island had massive mountain peaks that penetrated the clouds.

Gazing at these islands, Oblivion was surprised as each of them was countless times larger than any planet he had ever been on. They were massive bodies that were capable of being comparable in size to solar systems...!!

Yes, even though Oblivion didn't know, each of them was at least a light-year in size!...

THRUM!

Xiu! Xiu! Xiu!

Countless flying objects whistled through the skies and around the ship. Oblivion was barely able to make out these blurry figures as actual living lifeforms.

Whether it be pure-blooded humans or humanoid lifeforms, some flew around casually yet the speeds were too fast for the average Profound Immortal to even perceive.

'So this is the disparity between Profound Immortals and Golden Immortals!...' Oblivion thought with visible shock on his face.

These Golden Immortals were soo strong that even though they most probably sensed the couple hundred Profound Immortals in the floating ship, they didn't even bother to ponder nor question it.

Even if this Profound Immortal was led by another Golden Immortal, so what... Even hundreds of Pseudo Golden Immortals couldn't harm the weakest of Golden Immortals!

Plus, it wasn't that much of a shocking sight even in the Inner Sector, to find such an amount of Profound Immortals that were led by a Golden Immortal, to broaden these Profound Immortal minds, it was a rare but normal scene that some fairly well of organizations use.

Even Slaughtering Dragon Alliance may have used this at a point in time in the past... of course, right now they weren't being led by a Golden Immortal now were they.

Turning around, Oblivion entered his room once more. Sitting on his bed in a meditative position, he closed his eyes and calmed his breath.

'This... this is very dangerous...'

With so many Golden Immortals, just one might easily pulverize him yet with great danger comes even greater opportunity.

With so many Profound Immortals and Pseudo Golden Immortals, not only his comprehension in Nothingness will improve but, the rank of his Katana was bound to improve too.

"Everyone..."

Suddenly, ruining his train of thought, a sharp voice entered his ears. It was the voice of the city lord who wanted to meet everyone as it seemed like they had reached their desired destination...!

...

...

Inside a meeting room, a fairly large one at that, capable of hosting at least a couple thousand figures quite easily, sitting around a massive stone table were a couple of hundred figures, each radiating a noticeably large amount of energy!

Somewhere amongst the many figures was a figure clad in a black battle suit with an overcoat and a fox mask on his face.

The golden whiskers attracted some attention as it was clear they were special inscriptions making sure no one, even with the use of Sage Energy, would be able to see through said mask.

At the Head of this stone table, Seven large seats resided, and sitting on it were Seven imposing figures each releasing overbearing auras capable of strangling an Earth Immortal to his death.

As an Earth Immortal himself, Oblivion's existence contradicted said statement but he could never be considered normal and did not enter the norm of this world.

"We have reached our destination and soon, this ship will land on one of the islands which you have most likely seen already." Suddenly, a voice resounded in the Hall, grasping the attention of all.

"This island is the location of the object which I came for but it is a very dangerous island for us Profound Immortals so make sure you be extra careful once exiting the ship."
